OK, so Google in classic fashion, has allowed linked comments through Google+ to appear on this video and I can't reply to them in nested format so I'll just have to it out there as a comment. From Kahali L. "no you will not need guilds for each type, you dont need bunch of cards for Banquets and you dont even need to have villages in same parish you can still make amazing play by doing max banqueting ,,, Shipping is not a problem at all and "all those goods" do not take that much time at all.. It is just typical excuses (minuses) which are thrown out by people who have not done it properly or dont know how to do it... Banq. have A LOT of sense (specially with all 8 banq goods) not really "end of story" ..its exponential and I did not spend a dollar on banquets either... I have played it with 1 point per each banq. good and still did very good, without cards (when I was focused and playing all other roles besides supplier) .. The thing is that people spread all over research tree like Bulgarian hookers in summer time and spend to much points on banq. instead of staying I have spent 3-4 years playing specali" +Kahali L. Exquisite banquets aren't useless, it's just that they are less efficient than Impressive banquets If you are using cards. I've easily out ranked another carder who was using all 8 good types, by using just the 4 and mass producing them. If you aren't going to play cards and don't mind shipping goods around the map then that's another matter, I haven't looked into it but when it comes to carding banquets ROI for Impressive Banquets is much higher than Exquisite. I think I pretty much detailed my position on the matter BUT I did challenge another player to do a build log with all 8 good types for comparison so I hope you step up and accept my challenge. Looking forward to it! =)
I was just starting by myself and witnessed how dude INSTANTLY got knight rank from peasant, and became country ruler, banquets are good for that, so I suppose someone in his house helped him to get some glory in general. Yeah, basically banquets is for boosting new members of house to win the race.
Also for people who watch this series and saw this comment that's just banqueting honor you still get honor from winning attacks along with you can use arts and stuff to increase passive honor.
Based on your numbers, 960K is incorrect, that would be if you were to solely host exquisite banquets. There is still the remainder of the resources produced after that 3000 in other types. The other villages can produce more of the other types for smaller banquets. It would still be far more expensive than it is worth, but if money's not an issue, you could scratch for a number that is above 1.2M. For someone who is not willing to spend a great deal of money, it is incredibly unsustainable for producing all 8 types using cards.
Yeah my numbers might be off a bit but you get the gist of the video which was that if you want bang for your buck 4 banquet goods are the best way forward.
Might be best to use the first 6, Venison, Furniture, Metalware, Clothing, Wine and Salt. Points on x3 are 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14 points. You'd have limitations on metalware, since Valley Sides and Salt Flats can't produce iron, but you could compensate by using a Highland or Mountain Peak for their extra space for banqueting over a lowland. Lowlands have more space for furniture but less for metalware, but Mountain peaks produce less furniture. A forest would likely produce an absurd amount of furniture resulting in producing far too much since other villages can also produce furniture, so a lowland would probably be best for producing your furniture, unless your plan is to power level parish buildings that require banqueting goods, where mass furniture would get that out of the way faster. For spice and silk, probably best to just send out some scouts when you've got the chance. If you've got the time, might as well keep scouts out as much as possible, card them up for a few hours and you've got masses of resources coming in. That'll be able to get some exquisite banquets every now and then without the need to use the extra 2 slots per banqueting village cluster.
The first 6 give a 3.75* multiplier on the goods per banquet in comparison to the first 4, but it does have a higher gold/wood/stone cost to build the village, there would likely be some excess being left for a x3 banquet, but it should be averaging high enough to cover the card costs which is 1.7* as high as cards for just the first 4 goods.
Arson Shard You are also increasing the amount of village types you'll need. The base 4 can all be grown in highland villages and highland villages are great for fighters.
If you play it right, you can fight longer and harder in a war by only using 5 villages, but only if those 5 villages are your only 5 villages. Before the war, you've been hoarding FPs, gold and honor. This will give you a starting point, when the war begins, have allies take or raze your villages putting you down to 0. (If you're in a good position for fighting already, keep 1) When you take 4 charters from that first village, it's rather cheap, but you can also augment every personal army with captains for a bigger damage output. 5 small villages can generate enough gold to pay their self off but still produce enough catapults for 1 army. That first army is the army you want to use to pillage an enemy player for weapons, they can be anywhere on the map, it doesn't matter, all you're interested in is a weapons haul from a fully built village. Use that to repair the army you sent then ship the rest around to complete another army, maybe 2 if you have enough. 2 captain armies will breach a full castle wall if it is uncarded and formatted properly. A bonus of holding 5 villages is that you can take many enemy castles and hand them over to allies when they are ready. You can hit hard and help your allies greatly. Even with razing enemies, you can hold out on 5 villages longer than an enemy can hold 15, you don't have to worry about FPs to keep lands, your charters have covered their own costs, buy a new charter and ship all the weapons to it. You keep the weapons and the old village can be razed. When an enemy captain is sent, excom the village if you want to make sure they don't get it. Raze it yourself, if you have to. By this time, you don't need to worry about having 3 honor production villages before the war.
+İnebolu Balıkçısı I agree but that stuff takes a lot of time you have to understand. This video was cut out of a longer video I did for my banquet build log series. The pint I wanted to convey is that the additional cost incurred for banquets with all 8 types of goods doesn't make up for the increase in honor you'll see over 4 type banquets with every village as a highland. If you aren't carding your banquets the video doesn't apply to you.
Cole Wilson Well there is some crossover once you have access to passive honor buildings and higher popularity. So early on yes, but once you hit that mid point you'll do better with banquets + passive than just passive if ranking fast is your highest priority. Some players will stay at knight rank for fighting purposes, for example.

I know this video is over year old but I have to say something. I did some excel calculations and it showd me that its not worth it to build any banquet buildings at all. you be better of just upgrade your merchant swarms and buy straightly buy all goods in exchanges.
I love seeing the Great Merchant Migrations of the 30+ village power players who are holding mega-banquets every day.

+Cole Wilson (Sendrill) Indeed, I make around 20k honor per village from each Siege Camp attack.
I make 2 villages. Passive honour 25k . Have prince LL 15k honour + . I run vaccation modes and return after month or two . Profit in honour :D

RazingHel Oh then this doesnt apply to me
Right!!!Thanks
How would you do your current build without cards?
+Cole Wilson (Sendrill) simple... dont use cards.... not using cards wont change anything... just makes it slower to do
+Cole Wilson (Sendrill) You can still do banquets without cards, it'll just take you approx 3x longer than it took me.
RazingHel By then wouldn't your no cards build be better?

Nobody sells that shit
17M honor it my best per day
kidsowner1 26m is my best
You forgot the fact that all village types can build at least 3 types so what highland gives you is just metalbashing.
