- Pancake flippin cooking gadget to make 7 small pancakes at the same time. I test it out to see how well it works. I struggled to get it to work to begin with, on my second attempt after I greased it with butter, it worked ok for pancakes, but not when I tried to cook omelettes.

LOL Yes you do. All of my cookware is non-stick. It only prevents a limited selection of foods from sticking. Pancakes are not one of those foods.

I don't think that was what happened. With these silicon things, I think you start with high heat to seal the egg (so it doesn't continue to run) and very quickly turn down to low. I thought he had it on too low which allowed it to run.
I like my scrambled eggs that way. It add’s more flavor to me.

When doing omelets in this thing you have to put more heat at the beginning, so it forms a crust which will stop the leak.
All these people commenting on how the gadget doesn’t affect the taste. If he didn’t talk about the taste, they would be a flood of comments talking about how he didn’t talk about the taste right?

For the omelets, try cooking at a lower heat and cover the pan
to dry up the eggs before the flip.

Excelentes tips, yo lo compre y pase por lo mismo, desde encontrar el sarten adecuado y engrasarlo ahora tambien engrasare el molde de silicon, me encanta como quedan, gracias por el tutorial.
step 1 dont put milk in egg, step 2 use pam or some kind of low cal spray oil, step 3 make the pancake batter thicker and leave it in the fridge for and hour before cooking, step 4 use a higher heat so that the mixture sets quicker preventing it running and turn it back down after a minute

I’m not good pancake flipper, so I ordered one of these off of eBay for $4.03 free shipping instead of paying a higher price to those advertising the exact same thing on social media. It just came in the mail today and I popped on UA-cam to see the best way to use it. I know now to butter they fry pan and molds prior to pouring the batter in. I might try making some banana bread batter and pouring it in the mold if I can get the pancake batter to work good in them. I’m glad I watched this so I know to butter things before using them.

Grease up the pan on the initial batch and use flat laddle to lift up the pancakes. It always works even when you regularly make you pancake without a mold.

Yep, me and my mom were making pancakes and used that gadget. In the beginning it was a disaster too, when we we used butter the other time it worked great! And they tasted amazing indeed!

To all the people saying why he didn't use butter, it's because the ad for this pancake flipping gadget says that it's a nonstick mould and you don't need to grease it.
A suggestion with the omelet is to put a lid over the pan while cooking so the steam cooks the topside.

For mini omelets flip it upside down, use a spray coating olive oil make sure pan and thingy are already hot. Works well smaller ridge upside down.
It's actually pretty useful that Dave doesn't just show stuff that works- by showing stuff that doesn't work it saves us time and money from getting something like this. If I had seen it in a store, I would've certainly thought to myself "that's a great idea!" but thankfully now I know it's not as good of an idea as it looks.

The trick to keep it from leaking out is for the pan to be super hot. This helps the food product that your cooking to start to form shape as soon as it hits the pan. I believe you having it on low heat may have been your issue. But then again alot.of these gadgets look alot easier when presented on TV.

I had the same issues cooking with the gadget as well. I tried eggs twice, and they were a mess. I tried pancakes once and that was a mess as well. I used Pam cooking spray, maybe I should try butter. I was also using a low carb pancake mix, maybe that had something to do with it as well.
You need to cover the pan with a lid after pouring the respective batters. Let be on medium heat for 2-3 minutes and then you will be able to flip them over neatly without any leak or mess. :).

My first batch didn't work. It overflowed and some weren't done. I didn't spray it but I sprayed the holder for the second batch. My pan was wide and had a low edge so worked better than your pan. My batter was too thick. I put less in for the second batch. The middle, naturally, cooked first as its in the middle of the heat. So I would pour batter in it last. I'm anxious to try omelettes. I think there's a learning curve. I got no instructions with my holder. Going to give it a few more tries.
