I use Solgaard for my luggage. It comes with a 'carry on closet' that pops out and hangs right on the suitcase. I over packed my first time to Hawaii and it never happened again. Now with my solgaard luggage, I'll pack what I need into my backpack, and then stuff it in my suitcase. Anything I might need during the actual travel part, I put in a small backpack; charging cables, snacks, some cash, medicine. That way I have enough room for souvenirs if I get any and I never have to check a bag.

I never wear 75 percent of the clothing I bring. I'm looking at the Away bigger carry on. It is .7in bigger than the AA carry on dementions. But, according to the Away website, the bigger carry on is ok on AA. Thoughts?

I chose the slightly smaller carry-on (instead of bigger carry-on) because sometimes I'll fly a mix of major airlines & smaller airlines - and I didn't want to be separated from my stuff if I was on a smaller commuter plane.
I travel with a hard side Samsonite undeŕseat spinner. I am 81 years old, and unable to put luggage in the overhead. This works so well..my purse is small, and I'm a happy traveler!,
Mostly fold. I learned how to fold clothes compactly using the Marie Kondo method (her video: ua-cam.com/video/IjkmqbJTLBM/v-deo.html). I'll only roll denim. I used to roll all my clothes but then they would get really wrinkly and it's such a hassle to iron them at the destination.
Hawaii hasn't banned the sunblock with the 2 identified chemicals, they've banned the sale of said sunblock. Walmart Great Value brand offers an SPF 50 in lotion and spray on without the 2 chemicals. I got them for $4.98 each at my local Walmart. If you travel on a non US carrier, you will have size AND weight restrictions on your carry-on and personal bag combined. It is usually 7 KG but sometimes it's 10 Kg.
