This is probably old news by now but just clarifying something with the timeline. Muichiro became a Hashira AFTER only two months of training because we know he was 11 when Yuichiro died and he is currently 14, we can assume that he’s been a Hashira for at least 2 years at the present

The strongest pillar is the 27-year-old Stone Hashira (Gyomei). Tokito, who is just 14 years old, has shown great potential. Imagine how much stronger he will become in his 20s.
He easily beheaded an Upper Rank 5 demon, similar to how Giyu defeated Rui. This demonstrates a significant difference in power.
Some may think the Upper Rank 5 is weaker compared to Gyutaro, but that's not true! Tokito operates on a different level with his mark.
It actually is true. Gyutaro has shown why he's much stronger. he's faster, actually has hand to hand combat, battle iq, and didn't have to rely on supernatural attacks. We were basically shown that all that it took to beat Gyokko was speed. that was literally it. Tokito got faster with the mark, which he was now able to catch up to Gyokko.

@@anthonygarcia3922 He's not, Gyutaro lost to the 2nd weakest Hashira and Tanjiro who isn't even Hashira level meanwhile Gyokko was fighting one of the strongest Hashira with their mark and still was on-par with them only losing to a sneak attack caused by Muichiro's strongest technique meanwhile Tengen who's the 2nd weakest Hashira was able to keep up with Gyutaro, Gyutaro only having a marginal advantage.

If you guys are going to read the comments, I suggest ignoring the people who say Gyuutaro is stronger than Gyokko. That was never stated nor hinted. The upper moons are ranked by strength, and so, Gyokko is stronger than Gyuutaro. Plus Muichiro is far stronger than Tengen and the Demon Slayer mark is a huuuge boost, you’ll see on future seasons ❤

If he was really stronger than Gyokko, he would have fought him for promotion since that's all demons are about. Bruh, Demon Slayer is all about bloodline. Muichiro is descendent of First Breather. He is a prodigy and very talented. Tengen himself claimed that he had no talent and that Muichiro and Gyomei are enigmas. Not criticizing Rengoku, tho. He was fighting Akaza who would have clapped any Hashira except maybe Gyomei.

We need to understand that a Demon vs Slayer battle is totally different from Demon vs Demon battle.
They r ranked on Demon vs Demon
But gyutaro's poison won't affect gyokko and then there's regeneration and Infinite stamina too.
Gyutaro is harder to beat coz his poison is deadlier than gyokko's paralysis poison, and one small scratch will end any hashira in a minute, gyutaro was surprised on how tengen isn't dead while talking to him.

You guys have no idea how much I appreciated the credit y’all gave to Muichiro’s character. 😭 So many people shit on Gyokko and say that Gyutaro was stronger (which isn’t true) instead of realizing this fight was meant to highlight just how special Muichiro is + the power of the mark.

Can’t agree more. It’s almost funny how the show purposely do this to demonstrate muichiro strengthen and everyone just interpret it as gyutaro being stronger.
And yet it failed to highlight the point. I am very aware of Gyokkos power and Muichiro’s power but when you have many fans left confused at the weakness of the Gyokko then you messed up in your presentation. When you stop and examine then yes you can see the points but when you’re casually watching most people fail to see the point.

This is really why you are the best reactors for Demon Slayer (at least for me personally). If there is an ideal audience that the DS creators thought of when creating this, it would be you both. You understand and get immersed in the storytelling, emotional effect, and nuances that Demon Slayer is aiming to achieve.
Muichiro being that great of a swordsman comes from his bloodline being related to the first sun breath user. That goes to show how powerful sunbreathers are compared to other breath styles.
PS: Mitsuri's whip blade is an actual sword originated from south india. Its called Urumi blade.

He is one of the strongest and the mark is just a part of the Stats of their power, you don't awaken the mark without being on his level and he didn't even train for it yet.
Calling it huge boost when anime characters are based on Huge boost plot armor is just delusional.

You don't have to be on his level at all, you just have to have a certain body temp and have a heart rate of (I forgot) to activate it.
If you had to be on his level then tanjiro wouldn't have been able to unlock it yet and he isn't even hashira level yet.
@@ARandomPerson07 Tanjiro Got it because he is a Sun breathing user, Every Sun breath user has born with the mark Naturally and Tanjiro was the only exception which came naturally right after.
On the databooks it's clearly wrote the Stats to be able to unlock the mark and it's not as simple as having a body temp and being close to Tanjiro.
Apart from A Sun breathing user's presence, Your physical and skills condition have to be pulled to the limits and That's why the Hashiras training arc exist, your body temp need to be up to 35-40° and even your heart need to work way faster than before.
Kanao told Inosuke at the end That it wasn't as simple at that and The author explained it on the Books.
You don't awaken the mark without being of their level, Otherwise Kanao and the rest should have unlocked it just by the body temp and being closer to Tanjiro.
When i wrote one of the strongest i didn't mean the stronger so get some help instead.

Kanao and Inosuke never unlocked theirs because yeah you have to have a certain heart rate and a body temp but yet they were fighting douma who is very likely to counter that since he has ice attacks, which is what makes him so deadly for demon slayers. It should be nearly impossible to activate the mark around him.
This was the episode that secured Muichiro's place as my #1 favorite character. That fight between him and Gyokko is my favorite in the whole series, tbh. XD

I have a feeling that many people forget how extensive the gyokko's blood demon art is. Although it was easily defeated by 2 hashira, it was still the main cause of the destruction of the village. I don't think gyutaro > gyokko, don't act like muichiro can beat gyokko without the mark, and don't act like a short fighting scene means that demon is weak. The uppermoon was ranked by KOYOHARU GOTOUGE. This battle is the author's intention to emphasize the power of the mark, ufotable must have seen it and didn't prolong the battle as uzui's , but many people don't pay attention to it and just want to see a long, satisfying match.

Tengen did struggle, but remember that Tengen never did unlock his mark, muichiro would have died in that water attack gyokko did if it wasn't for kotetsu saving him.
Mitsuri would have died as well to upper moon 4 without it.

Tokito is the youngest and most inexperienced of all Hashiras, and under normal circumstances he's the weakest. But he has somehing no one else has. He comes straight from the sun breathing bloodline. And when he awakens that power with the marks on his face, he becomes like 100 times stronger. No other Hashira can pump up their power level so much. But there are Hashiras who don't have to... cause they're already insanely strong.

Rengoku became a Hashira because his father was so depressed and suffering from alcoholism that he could no longer bring himself to go to the Hashira meeting, and so Rengoku thought that if he himself became a Hashira, his father might be remotivated to take it back up. At least, that's what he said in the gaiden manga. I've only read the English translation and I haven't read the original Japanese yet.
Muichiro isnt actually the stromgest, the strongest is actually the stone hashira gyomei, the "blind" hashira.

yes Tokito is very strong as for his age but he unlocked his demon slayer mark and he is also a descendent of a user of sun breathing ( can be only activated after a sunbreather activates his demon slayer mark here who was Tanpajiro ) which allows further capabilities and gain control over injuries and Rengoku couldn't unlock his mark cuz Tanpajiro did not unlock it back then before him. So yeah if Rengoku could have unlocked the mark he would become stronger and could hold Akaza untill sunrise for sure but he could never defeat him.
Minor spoilers: Wait till you see Sanemi, Obanai and Gyomei fight. They are absolute beasts just like Muichiro. Muichiro has the most talent for sure....considering his age. But Gyomei is by far the strongest Hashira.....I can't spoil it but the dude gets praised by his opponent quite a bit. And it's one hell of a opponent.

Tengen lost seven out of his nine siblings before reaching 15. And case with Rengoku is really sick. Rengoku family has maintained the title of Flame Hashiras since feudal period. YK, since the times of Tanjiro's ancestor. Rengoku was like 20+th or something like that Rengoku family member who became Flame Hashira. And that's why His brother was so sad when his sword colour won't change. He said that he was sad that he was going to break the legacy of Rengoku family by breaking the chain of not becoming a Hashira. Seriously, Rengoku family is a lot more cooler than Tanjiro's bloodline I feel.
The GOAT Muichirou just solos an upper so nonchalantly . He also is my favorite Hashira.

i think you're confusing becoming a hashira in 2 months versus how much time its been since he became a hashira if his brother died when he was 11 and hes 14 now that means hes had 3 years of training and getting better on top of only needing 2 months to reach hashira level

If we assume that he become a hashira just before Tanjiro's arrival in the hashira meeting , then there is still 2 years of gap . So we dont know for sure
