Also, if you've had a chance to check out the Roland Gr55, the tracking of the PCM sounds on the Gr55 is pretty sketchy, although if you play the GR55 modeling sounds instead, the tracking is flawless.
I used to have the triple play. I didn’t do any in depth comparison, but overall I liked the tracking of the Jamstik better personally. And I love my Variax. Wish they didn’t discontinue it!
Awesome video, i have the GK3 pickup with the sy1000 and the GR55, as well as the Jam Origins MidiGuitar2 plugin. Both options are pretty good, but the roland/boss options dont track midi very well. jam Origins might a bit better, this is definitely interesting and looks like it tracks well. The sound quality and tonal expansiveness of DAW instrument plugins are just phenomenal, so in definitely always looking for the best option, especially since i kind of suck at keyboard, ha ha.
Holy moly. I can't believe its taken me this long to find someone playing the Jamstik with an Albion or Spitfire library. THANK YOU. Could you speak a little more to that? How does it respond to those types of libraries?
Awesome stuff ! I can not find ANY VIDEOS / TUTORIALS on this software being used in a '' LIVE'' setting /on stage away from the computer, /not sitting down in a comfy chair in front of a DAW Station. any suggestions ? Thank you.
I have the DeLuxe Version of Jamstik since one month. One has to adjust die String-high for better play. There is no lost to the Midi-TA. The roasted neck is quite good. THe Pick up HH sind realy good. The BT function works, perhaps with usual latency. The Midi Connection works fine, to the DAWS and System. For an nearly no latency for MIDI one has to connect with an USB-c or with the Midi-cable - Even on iOS and PC. I think the cable connectors are hard to take for to stay beside, they very nearby, so one has to be much carefull. … Nice supplement to my little collection. Ha, one to mention, the luminicent marks on the neck for tone had to be on the player-side too.
Hello! Is there any performance benefit in running through USB C as opposed to say Bluetooth? I'm just thinking bout the most logical way to run this in a studio setting where low latency would be a primary factor - thank you!
I own a MIDI guitar with the Roland 13-pin standard. I like the features in the Jamstik software, so you've got me wondering if there's a techy way to convert my guitar's output to be recognized by their software and/or the Android app. 🤔 For the record, I'd likely become a customer of their samples, etc. if this was possible.
@@ScottUhlMusic Yes, it's impossible from my guitar itself since 13-pin isn't actually MIDI, but a Roland GK floor unit has a 5-pin MIDI out. That'll be my starting point if I want more sounds from the company. Worth considering. 👍
So, I'm guessing that to get some really authentic sounding acoustic pianos, classic Hammond organ, cello, dobro, Wurlitzer etc.. whatever, I mean natural sounding instruments other than ambient synth stuff, you'd need to use the external MIDI or USB into some other software or to hardware? Or does Jamstik have those synth packs available? AND.. are there built-in arpeggio pattern choices available in software as in playing a single note (or 2 notes maybe triad) and arp sound something like the Pink Floyd Dark Side synth effect for example or another example maybe like Duran Duran Rio or ZZ Top's Legs and others.. et al?
Thnx for a great review of this item. What I’m curious about is if the improved MIDI tracking is dependent on using the Jamstik SW, or if it works fine with any other MIDI SW plugins. As mentioned by others, the use of GK-3/GR-55 (and similar) with MIDI SW instruments can be a bit of a challenge. How would you rate the MIDI tracking of the Jamstik guitar cmp to MidiGuitar 2 (v3 beta) or GK-3/GR-55 when using any given MIDI SW instrument ?
I personally have found the Jamstik to have the best tracking that I’ve tried from any midi controller. The pickup is great, and I didn’t notice it was any different with the app vs the regular midi plugins/vsts.! I don’t have the GK, but I have the fishman triple play and I prefer the Jamstik
Crazy, right?! My Dad had one back in the 2000s! He would have two cables coming off his guitar and two separate boards on the floor. And then he sent two signals to the board!
It seems to have a lot in common with the Roland GR55 which I used for years mainly for the guitar sounds. I saw this unit also has guitar sounds. Would like to hear some of them for practical use as I don’t do Star Trek music 😂

Could you make a video about the sampler option. I've been looking for a guitar that I can sample my own sounds and put it into the guitar. I really like this one sound from the casio dg 20 but all the dg 20 are either broken or expensive.
