    A very nice video. What I knew is the reason for horizontal meandering is mainly uneven heating of land mass and ocean surfaces and thus creating regions of major temperature differences. Thus you will see that the pattern of meandering all over the globe is characterised by the geography (location of land masses and oceans in their path. Please correct me if this is wrong. Thanks !!

    I think the tropical jet stream enters into the interior indian landmass after the defelction over th tibet creating low pressure in the interiors of indian land mass and hence it increases the pressure gardient beteween the indian ocean and indian land mass. If the tropical easterly jet enter the indian ocean( which you have expalined ) it causes low pressure in the indian ocean resulting the decreament in the pressure gradient consequesntly the south west monsoon get effected. ( correct me if i am wrong).

    • @akashkalyana8295
      @akashkalyana8295 6 років тому

      No they are not over the equator or doldrum but they are formed in the void between the (polar cell and ferrel cell) and (Hadley cell and ferrel cell),watch the video again and you'll see where they are and when the earth moves from west to east these streams start going in that direction too,so there are actually 4 major jet steams,2 on the northern hemisphere and 2 on the southern.

    Sir I have a doubt here..
    You say that the corriolis force increases as we climb to higher latitudes.. I don't understand how that happens, could you please shed some light on that??
    And regarding the meandering.. Could it be that it isn't because of the corriolis force ,but because of the varying latitudes at which the cells (polar and ferrel etc) converge that the horizontal meander takes place ??
