Finding Holes In Your Waders

Your waders are either leaking or not. At times you could swear your waders are shot. Turns out it’s a case of old fashion swamp ass! Some waders say beathable but I’m not sure how they can breath if your waist deep in water. Sweat builds up to a point that your pants are soaked. Below are 2 simple tests to see if and where those waders are leaking.
The light test: Not my god to test for fabric waders. This is an old trick used for rubber waders. In a pinch give it a try. In the darkest room drag a flash light from the boot to the thigh looking for light. Where there is light, there is a hole.
Soap and water test: This will be the best test. Using a spray bottle with soapy water spray the wader. Try to get as much as in the water as possible. Pinch the end of the wader to have air in the legs and slowly spray more soapy water and inspect for bubbles. I suggest to do one leg at a time that way you can concentrate and have a better chance of getting air in the one leg vs both.

set up your vacuum cleaner in reverse..gently close top of waders around it..turn vac on allow some air to exit so you don't blow out seems...inflate and use soapy water etc..mark with chalk whatever..i use gutter sealant

Chances are a leaky wader will already need leaving to dry and so i just fill my waders with water in the garden and mark any holes ready for repairs after i dry them :)
