- Shields in RLCraft are more powerful than ever imagined! With a shield you can take down dragons, sea serpants, and bosses without attacking at all! In this video I will detail to you the strongest defensive item, and one of the strongest offensive utility items in the game, an enchanted shield! With a few extremly powerful enchantments on a solid shield, you can go into any fight without fear! There are a few strong enchantments in the game that do more than their descprition states, and the community will continue to uncover the secrets of the modpack! Sit back and relax, as I explain a fun and overpowered shield, that will potentially change the way any player plays RLCraft! For PvP and PvE alike, shields in RLCraft can be monsterously strong!

That is one crazy shield. You basically never have a reason to attack, you’re just a brick wall your enemies continuously crash into.

What im wondering is how you can get all those enchants on any 1 shield cause i try to put on all the enchants for my sword once but it says its to expensive, how would i fix this to have all the enchants i want in survival?
In RLCraft, "too expensive" doesn't matter, and you can enchant the item anyways, but it will cost more than 40 levels. You can enchant the item cheaply though, by combining two of the enchantment books together and placing them on your item like that. Putting on one enchantment at a time is cost inefficient

I believe it would work, yeah. Your shield has low durability regardless though, so I imagine it wouldn't actually help all that much. Maybe though, I don't usually test stuff that can't be used in survival mode, so unfortunetely I do not know

This is actually too op. I tried it out and I two shotted a sea serpent without having a top-notch sword.

@@doomsmith4740 well, most of the damage comes from your sword that is being held on your main hand, so It might fluctuate a lot depending on what you have

Now that the Empowered Defence enchantment has a max power of II, what changes?
The shield is still very strong, but now that natural blocking only goes to II and empowered defense goes to II, this is exactly what changes: The shield now absorbs 15% or so less damage compared to before, and now you deal half reflect damage compared to before or so. The shield is still very strong when maxed, but not as overpowered as before. You can still do this shield strat in 2.9 rlcraft, but things will die slower than before the shield nerf

@@flamethebrave4372 The big shield can be used with a rapier, yes! And the diamond reinforced shield can be used with a rapier indeed! The big shield though is more realistic than the normal MC shield and the modded diamond shield by it legit giving you some body coverage while you still take some impact force from attacks (is what it is simulating) but the realism of the big shield is not nearly as powerful in terms of game mechanics in comparison to the diamond shields

I believe you can, because the ankh shield can also be used as a normal shield I believe. However, you won't get the immunity affects if it is not in your bauble slot, so using the ankh shield as a normal shield is not too optimal, and all enchantments on the ankh shield do not do anything as long as the shield is in your bauble slot, but that is a neat thought, if that did work that would be nuts lol

@@CasualtyYT Ankh shield says its effects work when it's either held or equipped in the bauble slot. Theoretically it should work just as well as the diamond shield when enchanted. Idk what its defense stats are though. Dia shield says Max Protection: 2560. Ankh shield doesn't say.
@@arbibushka9406 Ankh shield's protection is about as good as an iron shield in 2.9 rlcraft, so that would be my guess; however, the ankh shield's durability is extremly low, so blocking with it is no reccomended if you decide to use it as a shield. The bauble substats (such as undying and hearty) are not applied to the player when held as a shield though, so keep that in mind as well. Overall, I think it is super cool that the ankh shield can be used as a regular shield and it will also give you all those status immunities regardless of if it is a shield or a bauble, but because of it's low durability you shouldn't really ever block with it, so I always keep it in the bauble slot, since I can't help but reflex dodge sometimes, and I don't want to lose the ankh shield etc

Yep! I can't remember if I said it in the video, but I used my creative world to demonstrate this since I did not have some of the shield enchantments I needed to demonstrate the shields on my main world! If I remember correctly I was missing reflection III and spellproof III or something along those lines. I normally do not mark librarians on my atlas with bad enchantments like those, so I did not have them. I decided it would be easier to just use a creative world for this video because of this

@@CasualtyYT wait so if you have unbreaking 3 and super mending and all the other enchantments on a diamond tower sheild and you repetitively get assaulted how fast will the durability go down?
@@ringadingding7667 As long as it is against any enemy that doesn't use magic, durability will pretty much never decrease past green, but you do not want to block magic damage with the shield! Magic damage does low damage besides rahovart, so you shouldn't block magic damage with the shield (elemental projectiles). That will make your shield break only after blocking like 30 attacks or so depending on how much unbreaking procs! In other words just tank magic damage, it doesn't hit much anyways! For everything else, the shield is pretty much invincible in terms of durability

Does anyone know how to use get dragonsteel in rlcraft? I keep getting notifications that I need to be on a later version to use the later ice and fire mod but I have no idea how to make it work like he has in the video.

@@W0lfasss I use all default keybinds! I only changed my flying mount keybinds! I rise with space as normal, but I descend with alt! I also believe I changed crouch to alt instead of the deault. I move with wasd normally, and I have everything on my quickbar at the default 1-9! My nightvision keybind, aux keybind, and treasure magnet keybind are also all default on the numpad! I hope this helps!

Prolly took a spawn egg for demonstration or became a pog gamer and lured one in

It is still good, but natural blocking only goes to II, and empowered defense only goes to II now in rlcraft 2.9. It still works ok against everything except the lost cities enemies, which were not designed to be enemies that you should take excessive damage from (they do absurd damage to durability of items).

The Spikes enchantment as of now is kinda STINKI. theres a bug where if you defend with a spiked shield in lava the shield starts taking damage rapidly and for no reason, eventually breaking. the user being fire resistant doesnt do anything
like, you get out of lava and still see your shields durability drain, and then hear a distinct snap

For some reason, you can't put that enchantment on shields, but regular knockback works

Heart containers for early game (9 heart crystal shards in a 3x3 crafting bench),eat them and you will get another health bar (10 heart containers needed),for even more,you can get baubles with undying quality,and your best bet is putting Strenghtened Vitality enchantment on your chestplate to get loads of extra hearts.

How do you get decay effect on yourself
Enemies hit you with decay, some enemies who do this are the withering spiders (forgot their name but they are very annoying and killing astaroth's spawn them), behemoths, belphs, cacodemons if I remember correctly, archvilles, and I believe a few other enemies promarily found in the nether and the void will inflict you with the decay debuff

@@gengarop5904 It increases the damage of your poison effects and makes you immune to poison like a bezoar, so it is like a better bezoar! With a poison bauble, your viper damage is nearly tripled, and that is amazing!
How do u get so many hearts
strengthened vitality IV on the chestplate (when wearing armor) and undying plus hearty secondary reforges on baubles! Use a reforging table to reforge baubles for better quality! Undying quality will give you 2 hearts as well as 3% damage resistance!

I need help my hunger is going down like a monster what should I do?
You probably know this by now but i bet you have an equipped polarized stone, it makes you super strong deflecting projectiles but it drains your hunger fast. Just unequip it to have your normal hunger back. This bauble can be used with no consequences if you have a forbidden fruit (not the gold-green apple , the other one) because you can spam eat the FFruit fast anytime you want.

@@mrej1196 Im not sure, i think you can find it in dungeons. I myself havent found it yet. It looks like a golden apple with a yellow outside layer which you can fast eat infinitely and it fills your hunger really fast.

You need to make sure to have a good enchanted weapon as well, because the shields reflect damage will still be relatively low if you do not have at least a rapier with shapeness on or something along those lines! Make sure to hold the shield up as well, it will not block the damage unless you are right clicking (blocking)
