- In this video I give just a couple tips on the chickshaw that make it a little more user friendly. The Justin Rhodes chickshaw is a great chicken coop to be able to move your chickens easily but there a few changes that I have made.

Thanks for the Duh moment. I wouldn't have thought of it either.
Sometimes you just have to see it 😂
Came for the ChickShaw repairs and appreciate your opinion on needed modifications since I am gathering up materials to build one. I like how you used the stacked pallets to make walls for a building. Filed that in my mind for future consideration in case I need to build something to store supplies in.
Thanks for following along! You can never have enough pallets
I hate that. It friggin hurts and you never forget. I broke a light when I backed into it with my head. Getting the lawnmower.
Man I definitely know the feeling
I got a 2032 John Deere
Got my girls working it.
Yours looks like an old model 1023
That’s awesome!!
This is helpful as building a chickshaw is on my husbands honey do list in the next month or so 😅😅😅
That is awesome i a couple I need to build as well hoping to design a new mobile chicken coop as well
I look forward to seeing your designs😊
Morning. I was just curious if you had a definitive opinion on the Chickshaws? You seem to be one of the few places that I can see them in use. I was just about to start building one or two and wanted to get thoughts from a professional. :)
Haha don’t know about a professional😂 but I do really like them for ease of moving chickens. Not a huge fan of the crate nesting boxes but it is a cheap and decent option. Would like to put roll away nesting box in there but those are quite expensive. I would never use the wheels he uses just because of the price. I think they were $64 each I just use 9 in, $9 never flat wheels from Amazon. I don’t really see a point in the hinged roof I have never opened my chick shaw that has that so my other ones just have a regular roof. We really do like them because we can move a whole flock in minutes to a spot where we need them to do some work for us. Hope that helps let me know if you have other questions.
@@KCFarms Thanks for the Info. The spousal unit has a question about cleaning them. She’s about 5’3” and was concerned with cleaning them in general, but the floor in specific. Any problems or suggestions in that arena? She likes the mods you’ve done on the coop. She wonders about size and I f 30 chickens would fit comfortably?
I have the Chickshaw 2.0 plans and agree about the wheels cost. I was thinking about finding a couple of used kids bikes wheels and replacing the tubes with solids. The solids are about $20 each and I don’t need to get them right away.
I have cleaned mine maybe 3 times in two years most of the poop falls through. When I have cleaned them I just reach in with a stick and scrape the poop through the wire it’s super easy. That is the huge bonus you don’t need to clean them!!!
@@KCFarms My thoughts exactly. Again, thanks for the information. It really helps knowing it's not just a cool looking design, but that it works.
Later,
GT

Looks cold out there, know what you mean about building to work comfortably. Piglets are adorable.
Yeah I might have to fix that quack shack

For goat coral and feeders
Also for my chicken coop as well and compost area

Pallets and cattle panels are so Versatile on a farm .
Yes they are and you can usually get them for free!!
