The Forest Patrol meeple is awesome! It really gives me an "I got my eye on you" feel to it. I can imagine them marching through the woods and glaring at the denizens in suspicion

The Riverfolk meeple is my favorite meeple and I audibly gasped when I saw it’s placement. I had been agreeing with others in low ranking but couldn’t believe it being so low. I love the production value on the video though and hope one day you will see the light of the best meeple. Keep up the great work

My favourite thing about all the lower ranked ones is that the criticisms can be summed up with "a dubious little creature". I'm honestly here for it
We might not see eye to eye on what meeples are the best, but this is still a great ranking nonetheless. :') My moles deserve better

Ive always presumed the ronin was meant to be a tanuki. But its meeple still does not reflect that

That’s because it wasn’t originally supposed to be the ronin. It was included in the Riverfolk expansion so that you could play with two vagabonds. The Vagabond mini expansion that included the Ronin card was released later and was retroactively associated with the black raccoon meeple.

I am so glad that woodland is on 1 but in my opinion the otters deserved a much higher slot.
These videos are so much fun. A great parallels to the more serious strategy video of root on UA-cam. Still like your card ranking video as my favorite.

Regarding the Forest Patrol meeple, the plus is the medel they're wearing if you look on the hireling card. The eyes looking right is also present there.

This is a very good tier list u should make one for the factions
I think the Warlord is appropriately placed, but I disagree with the criticism a bit.
To me the game mechanics (mainly 'Anoint') implies that the faction is an endless swarm of rats, with replacable leaders. It doesn't matter who the leader is, when he falls another one will take up the spot and lead the swarm.
So an identical model (sans the banner) is more than fitting, and an awesome choice to me!
Yeah I think it’s more I just don’t like rat meeple very much. 🤷

Can someone explain why my Corvid Conspiracy meeple looks different? The eyes on mine are shaped differently but I can't figure out why that is.

Please, make a video teaching us how to stop WA. In my root-group we are quite upset about its explosive potential. We always end up our games in a 2 vs WA situations. You must recognize that they need a light nerf!!!!
The best advice I can give is to set up martial law. You have to slow them down to win. If you take too long WA will likely win or Lizards. Both the revolution and the religious group want the game to go long to ensure victory.
Making the WA make expensive decisions is the best way to slow them down. Martial law is the best way to do that. I don’t think they need a nerf especially after seeing the Tournament Win Rate stats :)
@@LordoftheBoard which tournament? I have been watching 2021 winter tournament but I would like to check statistics after advance setup changes.
@@kaworusergio yep winter tournament - they weren’t the most winning faction. And even then the percentages were all pretty close between them

@@tahubob I also think that the original design was really good, and perhaps better, but my guess for the change is to make the shape more different from a mouse.
If you're not playing with the hirelings, why not replace a few of the classic faction meeples with their hireling? Not for functional differences, but to spice up the board a bit :)

I'm not a big fan of Flame Bearer because the first time that I saw it, I thought that it was an owling wolf. The ear is the mouth and the nose is the ear. Once you see it, you can't go back.

Rank 16 is where you start liking the meeples, and you pointedly made 19 into the divisor of like/notlike. Rank 13 is where you seem to put the "good" tier, as in 13 is not bad, but others are better. And top eight is top tier. Pretty interesting.
The lord of the hundred's meeple are not stable and keep falling.. that should have been mentioned.

@@LordoftheBoard Out of all the meeples, the Hundreds and their Lord are the ones with their center of gravity that is most to the side. The Flame Bearers mitigate this a bit with their chipped ear (so it is practical on top of looking great;).
Maybe the players are clumsy but at the table, the rats are falling to their side much more than any other factions..

I would’ve ranked the corvid spies last (and I love the corvids), definitely not the arbiter. Bro’s just salty about Johnny Five Swords. The ronin’s meeple does not match the ronin at all, but that’s because it came first. The meeple itself, however, is really cool. I mostly agree with you on the Ranger meeple. To sum it up, it’s just a bit underwhelming. Oh. Woah. Hoo boy. I like the Riverfolk meeple, but it is definitely overrated. You however, just released *the* HOTTEST take in the *history* of takes. Your kinda right. The artwork for the Last Dynasty is *so* cool, but the meeple doesn’t sell it. The feather detailing deserves praise *I* think. The Warm Sun Prophets are really unique looking, and I like the rounded head idea. Unfortunately, they do not compare to their main faction. I really don’t like how the Badgers have such a long face, their heads almost seem like bananas, the way they’re positioned. I’m not a super big fan of the Tinker, especially because those are teeth, not a mouth. It is very faithful to the artwork though. Eyrie is pretty good. The eyebrow should be a bit longer to accentuate that anger. The Sunward Expo. is just too similar to the regular Duchy. It’s just not unique. For some reason, I just don’t like the Duchy’s nose. It’s too long. The Forest Patrol, hands down, is cool. It gives the vibe of a group of rangers watching the other factions from a distance, bows knocked. Their battle scars (the cross looks like bandages) only make them more fear inducing. The Adventurer definitely looks like an owl, and I agree with you on it. The moles, however, are better than this one. Yeah, your right. The LotH isn’t that great. However, that *deep saturated* red brings a lot of color to the table. I don’t like the art for the Exile, but I think that Bear meeple captures the cuteish but also “holy $&@% it’s a bear!” Solid meeple for sure, especially when looming over the others. Definitely, the Marquise is super iconic and it works well. It seems like it should be higher, but you have to remember that rankings don’t tell you how similar each subject’s quality is. If the Cats must be 16th, it better have been close. The Spring Uprising meeples are so cool. In fact, I think that they’re a little better than the Woodland meeples, especially because there’s only four. That little pop of color they add is good. The Alliance pieces I think are better as a full faction, but the Rabbits are better as hirelings than the Mice are as warriors. And I really want some green Foxes to fill out the Alliance trio. Great details on the Bandits, the Porcupine faces are perfectly illustrated. However, front and back, they look like clam shells, which is not good. The Scoundrel works. I never liked that it was a pumpkin, I feel like bandages make more sense, but the meeple does it’s job perfectly. The Corvids are one of my favorite factions, and the meeples are just as perfect. I think this one should be top 5. Ah, the Harrier. Better than the Crows, no. Perfectly represents its vagabond, yes. Am I happy that there is a squirrel character, so much. The Thief/Og Vagabond is a perfect representation of a raccoon. This might be another top five for me. This guy is so cool. Just an angry egomaniac Rat stomping around the board with a blood red banner. I can just imagine this guy standing upon a boulder, sword raised, flag blowing in the wind, and swarms of rats charging forward. The meeple is great. The Vagrant is ugly and weird, and so is the meeple, but it does work. Put it lower, but not too much. I agree. The Riverfolk Flotilla deserves its placement. The visors are weird, but it makes them look like Vegas employees, and riverboat casino is the Otters exact vibe. Love that paddle wheel, and this might be the most unique meeple in the history of wooden meeples. Again, yes. The hood is fantastic, the key is even more so, and it is definitely a Badger. The Lizard Cult is probably a top five for me as well. It is perfect. The antlers of the Furious Protecter are next level, though they could be a little bigger. This might be my number one spot. no. No. NO. *NO*. NO NO NO. I’m sorry, but *NO WAY*. the flute is great, the expression is great, the color is great and the musical note is cool. HOWEVER, it looks more like a pink fox. There’s nothing that tells me this is a weasel. Even the artwork makes it look like a yellow fox. Weasels are one of my all time favorite animals, and this just ain’t cutting it at all. There is no universe where this is better than the Stag. Never. Sigh, the Flame Bearer is great. I’m in love with the battle scars, and I love the artwork’s torches even more, bad sadly, I can’t let you put this ahead of the Corvids, Lizards, and Stag. Ah yes, the Woodland Alliance. I know how much you love them, you I think you’re biased, so here’s my honest assessment. The Woodland and Marquis are basically the same. Both have amazing color choices, both have recognizable expressions, and both look like Cats and Mice respectively, from the front and back. After that though, there’s nothing unique about the Moldy Bread
Amazing video, it’s great to see a nonstrategic, or multi hour play through, for a root video. I’ve looked up root memes before, but the only thing I found was a slander video, which does not disappoint

How dare you insult the duchy's color the duchy has a beautiful color which was completely ruined in their transition to root digital where they are represented with a disgusting dark brown that is much worse than the beautiful sand beige.
