That's great to hear! Thank you very much. I am actually quite baffled at how you managed to watch this video as it is an unlisted video that hasn't been released yet?? Haha! Edit: after a little research I realized you found the video via a playlist so I just made the video live now ;)
Hi Alex, great video! It is on my list to visit. I went to Hever Castle jousting event last week, really enjoyed it. Have you been to Ely Cathedral? You can go up to both towers for a fee to each.
@AlexTheHistoryGuy Hi Alex, you must! The lantern (Octagon Tower) has very beautiful paintings of angels on the panels. They are actually later addition done during the victorian repairs to the cathedral as the medival haven't survived. You can also go up and outside at West Tower. Another tip. There is only one stainglass museum in the cathedral, but it doesn't open on Sundays, so I would suggest visiting the cathedral on Saturday.
Truth be told I've been putting it off because my family have said we will visit as a family day out but stuff gets in the way and our day out kept getting pushed back until we kinda forgot about it haha
Thanks for the video. My tapes from a visit some years back are going to pieces now. Nice to see that you can still access the roof - stunning views from up there. Also appreciate the non-narcissistic style - videos with some jaw-flapping ghit covering 3 parts of the scenery leave me cold. 🙄😉😊
Haha yes I also don't care for those videos where someone is just talking to a camera and doesn't actually show you the thing they are talking about! I'm only in front of the camera when I'm kitted up in medieval armour!
That's marvelous, enjoy! To be totally honest, I tend to end my videos at the 16th century because I find that a lot of the depressing stuff happens to Britain after the Dissolution of the monasteries in the 1530s (especially in my home county of Norfolk) so I don't really care to read about it haha.
I absolutely love findings new history channels , the visuals are amzing , great work !!
What a unique video! History youtubers are what inspire me to want to specialise in medieval history!

@@AlexTheHistoryGuy that makes me the lucky 1st viewer!
Superb. Nailed the music. 👏
Ayy thank you. The orchestra at the end of the video was all recorded and filmed on site, it was beautiful.
Hey Alex, my/our history guy 😊 as usual a detailed, engaging and fact packed video of somewhere ive never probably thought about ❤❤
Ayyy, well you gotta visit. The cathedral is free to walk around and the tour to the roof is only £7
Absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to go back to England.
I highly recommend Worcester cathedral (and I've been to A LOT of cathedrals!) as the roof tour is only £7

I have been past Ely cathedral quite a few times but never actually taken the time to visit properly. I live nearby so I really should 🤔

Very good run through the history. I'm visiting the city right now. I will guess you are alluding to the Civil War history to come later?
That's marvelous, enjoy!
