bad luck with the 7s.. you played well, with some luck you would have taken the win here! perhaps taking the wheat expansion first might have payed off, but both were good for you!
The 7-out sound really rubbed it in this game haha. I think taking the 9 10 2 would have really helped to offset the bad luck I had with the 7's!
I like your settlement picks and it gave you a great position.
At 7:00, porting 4 ore for a wheat is a big misplay imo. Why not port the sheep and go for the city. A 5810 is massive for your game.
Your first expansion needs to be on the 9102 and it's not even close. With 2 ore and 2 sheep tiles, the 9 wheat is massive for your game. You had many turns with heaps of sheep and ore but no wheat. I'm surprised you still went for the 4511.
I agree with all your points. When I was editing this I picked up on the mistake at 7:00 and was really annoyed I didn't even consider it at the time! As for not going for the 9 10 2 first, as soon as the game was coming to an end I knew I had stuffed up with that 🤦♂
Didn’t really like taking the 5/8/10 over the 6/9/4 as 10 wheat is tough to rely on. Then taking the 4/5/11 settle over the 9/10/2 was a big mistake imo. The 8 brick was blocked a lot early on and your hand was just filled with ore & sheep so getting on more wheat was the better play.
I think the main mistake was not identifying that red and black would be the OWS threats at the start, meaning they would have robber control early, and the obvious easy block for them early game was the 8 brick. The 4 5 11 settle was absolutely the wrong the choice, and I kinda knew that moments after I had done it haha
Idk why you didn't port for both wheat at 20:14, you're much more likely to roll ore and you're never the steal. The 4/5/11 was probably a mistake, you didn't have a clear enough road path. Having said that, at 26:25 you were a 5 away from taking road for the win, so I can see the logic behind it. The double wheat was just too strong to let others take though really, doubt blue would have won if they hadn't gotten that spot
Yep agreed, porting for both wheat was a more optimal play I think! But I think I dug my own grave originally by not taking that 9 10 2 first!
Got killed by 7-outs
Had to take the risk but didn't pay off
7-outs were brutal this game, I feel like with a little bit of luck I may have been able to get over the line, even with the mistakes I made!
