The biggest problem with migrants, refugees or not, is reciprocation - they expect their host country to respect them but they often don't do so in return.
And that why i and many other ppl dont want them here.
There's also just the mindset of resentment among the people who have less looking at those who have more. They don't look at themselves and their own country asking. "What did we do wrong and how can we improve?"
No they look at the richer people saying. "They STOLE this wealth, they don't deserve this wealth, if they would just give it to us we could have the same as them, the things promised to us in Hollywood movies. It's not fair, so why should I care about them?"
And of course Hollywood movies, Social Influencers and so on on TikTok are complete liars selling falsehoods. That's not what it's like living here for the average person... But they don't know that. They watch Hollywood movies and use Tiktok, so they think that is what they deserve and should have and it was stolen, so they are morally right to take it back by any means necessary and spit on the hosts.
And of course the big irony is that... the western world HAS been given them so much stuff, are constantly giving their countries billions of dollars in aid that could have been turning these countries into paradise. But their own corrupt leaders has screwn them over, pocketed the money for themselves, and send their own kids to the most fancy school in Switzerland and get them fancy acting jobs in Hollywood..... So yeah... And we here in Europe are too stupid to see it and too stupid to just say. "Yeah no... Zero migration from you guys. Sort your own shit out."
Because it's all about expectations and envy, not contribution nor assimilation.
Unlike populations entering en masse do not benefit the countries into which they demand entry for *their* expectations. They simply accuse scream complaint when not immediately accommodated.
That has to stop, they are owed nothing and the pie-in-the-sky unrealistic expectations and demands to be "supported" and subsidized by the generous West go unacknowledged.
No more aid nor migration. Fix your own houses first, and that means looking into the mirror and changing your own culture and mindsets.

AS an indian guy who has legally been living in Germany for the last 2 years, this is a good step. Because for me, I had to complete my bachelor's and complete some working experience, learn some german and THEN got a student VISA for Germany. When I came here, I realised there are a lot of freeloaders in this country who do absolutely nothing all day, have their babies on the street, do not like the culture, and get a German Passport eventually after years of living there and doing absolutely nothing. Yes, there are refugees who want to have a good life in Germany and actually contribute to the society, but there are some I know who I know have just come here to get free money and leech from the government. Another good thing Germany can do is grant entry to the refugees and eventually after a couple of years if they are still not working/integrated, then there is no point in giving them a passport. I personally know people who have been in Germany for years, haven't paid anything in taxes as such, has a family of 10 people coming here, illegally. Makes NO sense to me

Everything was fine at first, Europeans were welcoming of immigrants who contribute to their countries, and immigrants were grateful for the opportunity Europeans provided. Aside from those arriving as tourists, only skilled immigrants who can immediately perform in a first world economy on arrival should be allowed in as temporary residents for school or work only.
Even then, they should not be given permanent residency or citizenship, ever, but be required to return home after a period.
That would rightully accommodate Europeans so THEY actually benefit and their kindness not constantly exploited by useless squatters who refuse to respect European decency.

Italy is a beautiful country with people who are chill and delicious cuisine. I'm a Catholic who had been to Rome and the Vatican in 2018. It’s about time! As an American, legally working working in Europe, it was a pain in the ass to get a work permit and residency. Meanwhile, illegals and unskilled immigrants are everywhere. I had to find a company that would actually sponsor me, get my degree and certifications notarized, and I’m taking a crap ton of language lessons. Still, my residency and work permit are only through my job and if I want to find another job, I have to go through the process all over again. Put unwanted “workers” can come over from the middle of nowhere, not speak the local language or English, and drive a car and make money. If they even work at all. It’s infuriating.
Edit: Let’s not forget all of the background checks I had to go through. I swear, being a law abiding citizen and doing things the right way, can make life hell.

I have been working in integration all work for years and people from some cultures are very grateful and respectful meanwhile others openly mock our culture, religion and rules and make fun of our “friendliness” - they openly do so and there are no consequences. Especially heartbreaking in school: some students from certain countries bully the Ukrainian students because they are orthodox or non Muslim. I saw them making fun of the teachers in their languages, these teachers who try everything to welcome them. Some openly say how much they hate this place and that it is our (europe) fault that they have to be here….it breaks my heart, because I know that these teenagers won’t integrate.

Take for example romania which granted, has a very (VERY) small population of migrant arabs from way before the fall of communism, but most of them were still able to integrate into society. Though i suppose for more homogenous countries, these changes must have been a deal harder to come to grips with.

I had an Angolan neighbor who ran a post office racket (stealing credit cards/mail), had 15 kids with 6 different women, earnt a good income from child benefits and tax credits, had 6 council houses thanks to the single-parent women/kids, but 3 weren't lived in, so they were sublet as HMOs for lots of ££. He would borrow and default and rack up debts under false names, and only paid one when his car was finally grabbed by a truck. He doesn't even live in the UK now but still runs all this from Angola, and pretends random people from Angola are relatives, helping them get council homes. The whole mess is entirely due to the cultural mismatch of extremely backwards culture meeting a welfare system and finding any and every way to take advantage, whilst not caring about the wider community or society in any way. Welfare systems only work in relatively homogenous societies where people all share a broadly similar cultural outlook and respect for the rest of their communities. People from radically different cultures will never fit in well, despite the best efforts of everyone.

Not everyone who illegally migrates is a "douche". This rule change is primarily for refugees: asylum seekers. Technically their immigration is illegal until their application gets approved. It is however possible that some of their applications may get denied in which case they have to be either sent back or sent somewhere else safe. Many of them have a valid reason to be fleeing wherever they are coming from. And many of them don't have access to sanitation and electricity much less computers and internet.
According to UN guidelines, countries have a legal obligation to house and care for asylum seekers while their application gets processed. If someone turns up at the border seeking refuge, they cannot be turned away without having their application examined carefully and fairly. What this rule change is trying to achieve is setup jurisdiction in Albania (meaning the area where the refugees will be housed will still be considered "Italy" for practical purposes) but it still needs to abide by all of the laws around asylum seeking. Now it isn't clear whether this new idea itself is a violation of any laws and regulations. There will most certainly be legal challenges to this.

As an East Asian single migrant that studied in Germany then got a job that required at least postgraduate STEM degree and pays 40% of my gross salary for tax and social securities, I fully support European governments to stop the insane "migrant" (i.e. refugees) influx. Germany under that woman called Merkel was insane.
I would prefer the Merkel politics 100% more than that of the Scholz government, regardless of this point. Calling the whole thing "insane" is kinda weird of you, Merkel has led Germany better than any other chancellor in a long time, and I say that even though I'm definitely not a friend of her party.

Pick pocketing increased in Berlin compared to 2021 when I moved here as an IT professional. Berlin is becoming like Paris in regards to theft? No wonder bcos I was suggested by fellow german colleague to avoid people who come and show a paper and ask for help, while we talk with them someone is gonna steal your wallet. You know what is written on that paper that they moved here recently but don’t have money to eat, of course they are not legal migrants else they would have funds from govt. so who is causing these thefts now?
Asylum should be controlled else how many skilled immigrants you are gonna import and get 40% tax from them still you cannot pay for huge crowd of free loaders. Everything should be in balance if you don’t want your country to be broke
yeah and it sucks that I'm been looking for an IT job, and there are fewer companies each year (since 2021) that support relocation and/or visas, this is where the taxes should have been gone, a cycle of investing, earning and investing, instead of wasting

Nobody should ever get into a country by illegal entry. My ancestor’s came to the U.S. as legal immigrant’s from Germany and at the time nobody thought you could come illegally.

Finally they woke up! My dad was a journalist and in early 90s he visited Germany and told some important folks there that their liberal attitude will cost dearly and they will likely have to fight a crusade to get rid of the illegal immigration problem. He was right!

As Ukrainian in EU I can tell you that even war hasn’t pushed me to cross the border illegally, I haven’t received not a single euro of aid and haven’t used free accommodation. Because I don’t want to exploit host country, these people worked their butt's off to achieve this level of comfort and prosperity. They earned all that with hard work and I don’t feel comfortable using their hospitality. It’s ok for country to send back refugees if they can’t offer a safe place and health coverage. This video talked about France so let me tell you that France had to increase retirement age due to lack of money, but they do host refugees. They could just send back all migrants but instead they are lowered their life quality. And finaly Immigrants MUST assimilate, they MUST find work and accommodation, they can ASK for help, but it doesn’t mean that Europe is obligated to be theme park for refugees or escape from poverty.
And also tell the 700thousand Ukrainian refugees living in India to go back to Europe they were being racist against our Indian students and they came to our country

Having lived in Germany and Italy I can say that due to increasing petty and serious crimes from asylum seekers, ordinary people were facing safety issues.But as far as educated migrants and Indians (who came legally as workers and students they have a good reputation ).There are south Asians who entered illegally as well.Don't want to sound harsh but too many African and middle eastern refuges who have low education and skiils are trying to come in
