Thanks for sharing and showing Frank Sinatra’s little girl Nancy singing one of his biggest hits of the 1960’s on Ed’s show. Too bad that Frank didn’t sing it himself, and too bad that Ed couldn’t have had Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis Presley on doing a montage of all the biggest hits up to that date…😊! Have a great day!
I heard a song today on an Oldies radio station, I've heard it before, but can't recall the title off top of my head.., it was Dean & daughter Deana ( who either did or still does have a short "Deano Tribute" radio show on Sunday evening on famous WABC 77/ WLIR 107.1 simulcast radio in NYC-Manhattan/ Hampton Bays) sang on as a duet on it..?
I always wondered why his kids were left to promote Frank's material instead of Frank simply appearing on Sullivan himself. Nancy's brother taking her father's place on "Something Stupid" was another example.
But Nancy famously had her own hit w "These Boots are Made for Walking", and she's the one who sang the theme to the Bond film "You Only Live Twice". Frank probably was trying to get them started. Nancy did pretty well. Her brother, not so much.
There is really no reason for her to do her dad’s music. She is a great talent in her own right and she could do songs from her first album. I don’t think she ever did “How does it grab you darling” on Ed Sullivan and that was a great song and it went top 10.
There was no reason for her NOT to sing a song popularized by her father. Why would you write something so befuddling and wierdly negative, especially since she referenced her father and this performance was clearly an innocuous, small nod/tribute to him. (I must admit that after returning to read comments that came in after yours in which so many sourballs denigrated her actual performance, your remark seems rather tame.🙂) Respectfully🦚🥂🦚
A nice enough if unremarkable voice. But man, when the camera finally pans out and you see that outfit she's wearing! I think Nancy's look was her real talent.
She has a sweet little voice! Old Blue Eyes still holds the title for putting songs out with the feeling that he is just singing to you! Sorry Nancy!!!
So TONY BENNETT, NAT "KING" COLE, FRANKIE LAINE, VIC DAMONE, JOHN GARY, JACK JONES, SAM COOKE, ELVIS PRESLEY, ROBERT GOULET, STEVE LAWRENCE, BING CROSBY, EBGELBERT HUMPERDINCK, JIM REEVES, GORDON MACRAE, FARON YOUNG L, DICK HAYMES AND HUNDREDS OF OTHER MALE VOCALISTS, ALONG WITH THEIR FEMALE COUNTERPARTS SUCH AS SHIRLEY BASSEY, EYDIE GORMET, DINAH SHORE, PATSY CLINE, CARMEN MCRAE, KAREN CARPENTER, ELLA FITZGERALD AND SARAH VAGHAN ALL LACKED THE ABILITY TO IMPRESS THE LISTENERS AS FRANK SINATRA DID?🤔🥺

This is the most dullest and boring performance of her's she ever did. I'm shocked cuz she is an outstanding performer. I love Nancy but this performance is a dud. 😢
Just in honor of her famous father "Ol' Blue Eyes!!" Personally, I don't think this is that bad! Sure, it's not another "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'", but it's better than "zilch"!!!
I adore Nancy! She can do no wrong. But… she does seem not interested. Detached. Something else going on. In short, she’s human. I appreciate the post for sure! I want to see all performances of Nancy’s. Great to this. ❤

I watch her and it's like seeing a friend on TV. She's so warm and real. Viva La Boots.
So beautiful. Thanks. Here Brazil.
Lovely. This shows up. I was just whistling this.
This phone knows me so well.
I would have never considered setting this song to a Bossa Nova rhythm.
Perhaps this was closer to Bert Kaempfert‘s instrumental arrangement..
"This is for you, Daddy!!"
Love it!!!
She made some really good music with Lee Hazlewood

Poor Nancy. That was unfortunate.

It's clear that she wasn't comfortable singing this song. It's her Dad's song not hers !

Yes. Very, very “little”. Frank’s influence in the biz and his loyal fans did the rest.

Sorry, this was not one her best. She had a better roster of her own songs that she could have sung. Beautiful lady, none the less.
No one will take my love froment God is on my side Amen.

Sinatra was probably busy and may have felt that was beneath him.

Interesting version. If you get a chance , check out Johnny River's version of this song. Another great version.😊

Yikes! Where was auto-tune when we needed it?
The arrangement of the song and Nancy's vocals did not mesh too well. It seemed the arrangement was indecisive -- is it a ballad or a bossa nova?
you think you hear her father so you think she can sing....she cant......still alive...her mom lived to 100

I'm sorry but that was pitchy
Awful, she had other great material in 66 she could have done.
She can't even stay on key. Simply awful.
I never did think she was a great singer
Well you can say that to her 50 millions dollars in the bank 💵 ...alot of money for someone who can't sing I guess
terrible , she does not intonate
She regretted being married during her Rockstar years
If her name had been Smith, we would never heard of her.
Her sense of pitch was almost as bad as Dinah Shore!
Nancy's singing is fine, but the orchestration is awful, she's practically drowned out by it
Looks like young Frankie in a dress. But sure doesn't sound like young Frankie.
Boring
