went here late on the free side after a shitty day at diamond valley👎 got one in only about 30 minutes, went back the next day and hit all the paid spots and caught a fish at everyone and limited out thanks man!

Nice, I am less than 20 minutes from there. Been fishing there for more than 40 years. Glad you didn't give out the real good spots... lol. I do agree that your #1 spot... the 2 parking areas combined are pretty good. I hit that area from my boat because the stocked trout tend to school up and circle the areas at a given depth depending on temp and light. Those steep banks let you try different depths without moving your position by casting near or far. Farm raised fish spend their lives circling a pool at a given depth waiting for food, they repeat this habit after being stocked until they figure out there are other options. The goal is to find the depth they are comfortable at the day you are there
These are the "real good spots" to me... It's just an opinion video. Everyone's going to have their favorite spots but this is my top five. Good luck on your fishin trips
Some great spots here! One of my go to spots back in the day for some of the best bluegill fishing I have veer had was at the end of the FS side down by the dam. I would go near where the fence went into the water and catch bluegills all day long.
Been To Lake Hemet many times fished it a few times at spot 1 and out by the dam. And have seen it at it's fullest never been to the pay side. Thanks for sharing the information Stay safe my friend

Hook size is the treble hook in the number 14 through 16. Stick with the bright colors on the power bait. Chartreuse ...salmon peach.. corn yellow...etc

Google Lake Hemet road. You will see it in the video on the upper portion of the screen during the video. Follow that from the main highway into the lake you will go straight to the public area. Essentially just use Google maps by first finding the public area and then following the road out toward the main highway. Good luck

These spots will not be affected by water levels because generally trout season is in colder weather and water temp so these spots will remain in the same in productivity rates during trout season. As seen in the last few spots in this video the focus during the warm months is down by the dam anyway no matter what the trout plant situation is.

I do see that theirs guna be a fishing tournament april 27 up at the lake and i see that they plant some very nice size trout. So, what's the keep or bag limit up there? And what other species of fish are in the lake???
🤣That's a tough move man.. As someone that spent the last 2 summers, and over 2 months in Colorado vacationing and fishing I feel for you... As for your questions, no problem. Hemet is a great option for a trout lake not too far from you... Probably one of the better options. They are going to plant soon, and those dates they posted on their facebook mean a few things. 1: Fishing will be better on the pay side of the lake (campground side) than it will be the free side (forest service/fed side) that will be that way for about 2 days or so after the plant, then the fed side will fish better... the warmer the water is the faster the fish move west toward the dam, aka the federal side. Bag limit with a state license is 5 fish limit per day with 10 in possession at any time. You can catch and release @ Lake Hemet. If you're new to the state and you want the short cut you've come to the right place, sign up on my Patreon and you'll see tons of options posted all the time, and I spend a lot of time answer questions just like this one. I do plan on possibly spending the night up at the lake and doing an early Moring and late evening fish and see how good the fishing will be, your video was very informative , i do like the last place over by the dam, colder deeper water sounds like a perfect spot for trout and less people. Are you able to float tube the lake and how about small water craft like a small 2stroke motor boat ???@@TroutWest
The humid isn't known for bass, but there are a few in there. You're better off fishing for trout. More consistent bass action you need to be in the San Diego county area. Those lakes will be really turning on soon.

I wouldn’t call this lake shallow. I fish Prado damn last week. I think the deepest depth is 8 to 10 feet.

Private plants go in about three or four times a year depending on what they pay for.. state stocks can go in every other week from October to April.
