  • I'm so sorry that I forgot to teach the bridge section coming out of the solo... don't know how I missed it. In case you haven't already figured it out, Right hand plays Octaves, C Eb G to the chords F9/6 to E9/6 Left hand notes for those chords are.. C Eb F A to B D E Gb. Right hand plays G D F but you hammer on from C to D. Bring that down a half step and do the same. It all resolves to the Eb6 chord. hope this helps.

Hi Tyler. Thank you so much for breaking it all down. I am not a great pianist, but now I sound like one because of YOU!!! Have a great Christmas and holiday season Bro! Jamie

Just an amazing tutorial. I learned it years ago but if you dont keep it up, you totally forget it. The song has so much going on. I just relearned it and went through each video again. You make a very tough song relatively easy. There were lots of little things that I gradually dropped as I played it and now it sounds better than ever.

Wow, this is awesome. Thank you! Everyone does tutorials for only the super popular songs like hit the road jack.
Request: I believe to my soul

I'm a little late (like 6 years) but this tutorial takes it to another level for us mere mortals. Much appreciated. Thanks! 👍🤘

Wow! I want to say I don't play piano much, I'm actually a guitar player. Long story short I did not play Googles top 100 acoustic song at my solo gigs, lol. I started picking out songs arranged for piano and translating them over to my instrument. I had checked all the tab for this song and there is not any nowhere near a descent chord chart...but a chord chart is not going to catch the color that you have taught in these tutorials. Hats off to you! Thank you so much.

Oh I love it! Brian Wilson is a true genius. It's so sad that he over used drugs and it took his falsetto away but it is surprising that he outlived both his brothers.
I love the smile sessions version of vegetables too, simple piano but god brian wilson sure could make up amazing pieces.

Hey Tyler, Great tutorial! I figured out some of Ray's songs in the past but... This one would have taken me quite awhile! So thanks for your help!! I also used one of your tutorials you did on Steely Dan and Dr.John They were really good too. Just in case you are looking for some more ideals for future videos... Anything from Dr.John, Johnnie Johnson, Professor Longhair, Ramsey Lewis, Diana Krall, More Ray of course and whatever else you can think of. I am sure you know all these people. Anyway, Thanks Again!!!

Amazing tutorial. one bit missing i think. just after the piano solo there is a bridge bit that leads to the next verse, you play it on the playthrough but its a bit quick for me to see whats going on. its at 1.05 on video 3. Ive been trying to learn this for years but cant read music too well, even if i could i doubt i would be able to get it as good as i can play it now. thanks again, keep up the good work. Mess Around is my next challenge..
