  • The display on the middle instrumentation panel went out and there were not many resources on how to figure out how to fix it. If the backlight still shows a light in the background (you can only see this if it is dark out) then you simply need to remove the cluster panel, power it down, and retighten the display cable by disconnecting it first, and reconnecting it. It is very important to very firmly tighten the compression piece, do not overtighten.
This video will show you how to remove the side panel, the lower panel and the panel that covers the instrumentation panel. It does not show me popping the instrumentation panel out because it is literally just removing the screws and pulling it out... my apologies, as some people may have wanted to see that too.
** I DID FIND OUT THAT TO FIX IT, REMOVE THE INSTRUMENTATION PANEL BY REMOVING THE 3 SCREWS. DISCONNECT THE POWER, REMOVE THE RIBBON, PUT RIBBON BACK IN AND SECURELY TIGHTEN THE PLASTIC RIBBON COMPRESSION PIECE ** REINTALL

Same problem with my Murano. I’m so happy people posts videos like this. I’m getting ready to tear into and this shows me where each plastic clip is. Less likely to go to hard and snap them. Thank you.

Glad that I was able to help, that was my intention behind this video after I read so many people were having the same issue, and I dread taking panels off.

For some reason I thought I could place my single house key on the dashboard. The second I did it slipped in through the space between the frame and glass! I was locked out of my house for 5 minutes until I UA-camd this! 😂😂😂 Thank you 🙏🙏🙏

Lol that is not something I would have thought the video would be helpful for, glad it got you back in.

Thanks much for posting this! My 2014 Murano LCD screen recently went blank. Between your video, and some screen shots from the same issue with a Maxima, was able to get it working again.

And took your advice on the spudgers, looked up online, and found close to home at Harbor Freight.

I am glad it worked out for you. I had to take apart the trim on a KIA recently and remembered how easy and nice it was working on that Murano.

Thank you so much! This helped me reinstall the fuel release and power-lift switches. Great video, straight to the point. Thanks!

I’m glad it helped, I couldn’t find any resources for this year model when I was searching.

Did it change after reconnecting it? No. The odometer is tied to the computer and that is just a display.
