This is for Roy. The app doesn't tell you what to do. It offers you jobs and you decide whether it's worth your time to accept the job. It doesn't condescend you or act like it owns you like most bosses do in a W-2 job. If your bowing down to the app and doing whatever it tells you then your doing it wrong.

I am platinum work five days a week 10 hour days. And people that are not even silver or whatever the lowest one is make just as much if not more money than I do so I try so hard. I’m a full-time.
That's proof right there that the whole tier system is just a scam. A gimmick by DD to trick people into delivering orders that they really don't want to do. My AR is 49% and it's constantly teetering above and below 50% and I don't see any better offers when I'm above 50 than I do when I'm below 50. Sometimes I actually start getting better offers when I'm below 50. It all just depends on whats out there. If there are no good offers available then having priority just prioritizes you for the bad ones meaning you get sent a bad offer and if you accept it then your already tied up and will miss the next good offer that comes through and it will go to the next available dasher even if that dasher is bottom tier. If everyone stopped worrying about what tier they were in and just accepted the orders that were profitable to them then DD would be forced to pay us what we're worth. That's the way it used to be before they started all this tier nonsense. The tier system doesn't reward dashers, it rewards DD by screwing dashers. Sadly I think too many people have bought into the whole illusion of having priority status and DD will just keep taking advantage of drivers to get low paying offers delivered.
These remote panels are just terrible to watch with people talking over each other. Lets have 1 guest at a time.
If they wanted nothing but part timers the tier system wouldn’t be a thing. The tier system forces them to do so many runs a month to stay in the tier they’re in. Thats not designed for a part timer doing 15-20 runs a week.
Pizza boy is doing better he gets his gas money back don’t take long drives and gets paid by the hour. Her in my town pizza boys make 25 per hour.
Pizza boy said 900 a week and that’s before taxes. Doing the math, pizza boy makes 180 a day. Assuming it’s 2 days off, that’s 900. Cool for him. But if that’s his ceiling, then that 30k a year might be worth it for him.

The argument was wack lol. Gig workers can just be so tribal sometimes. But honestly Roy has some good points. Like, it really is just coming down to pick your poison especially with DoorDash. Like he said, a benefit of dashing used to be not having to deal with a boss or not having to schedule but with all the programs and rules, how different from a boss is it really? And flexible scheduling is practically non existent unless you’re in a market with not too many dashers. And obviously all the taxes, maintenance/depreciation, and gas, like, i think we can all take a step back and reassess how much we’re REALLY making and also just be happy that others in other situations are making money too 😅
its very different. a boss doesn't let you show up when you want for 10 minutes or 10 hours by your own choice, all this boss asks is you do the things they told you
I just keep my completion rate above 95% and I can schedule anytime I want 6 days in advance I always schedule for way more than I know I'm going to work and I stop when I hit my daily goal
@@Ottobon right, but in order to be able to dash for a quick 10 minutes, you gotta jump through all the hoops to have dash now. Which is locked behind platinum. That 100-150 delivery requirement is hard to maintain for a lot of dashers. Myself included now. Sure you can get lucky with scheduling or the map turning red for an hour but you can get lucky at a w-2 with overtime or someone covering a shift etc. i will say being able to choose not to show up or end your shift early is still a great perk. And I’m also not saying they’re exactly the same. It’s just a lot more similar now than people would like to admit
@@internetgod5407 i try to do the same, just without the 95% ar haha. It’s rough tho if i can’t do a shift i lose the whole thing. Or if i split my schedules shifts each day then decide not to do one I basically have to choose between lunch and dinner otherwise my hourly and mileage will be so bad it’s hardly worth it. Doesn’t feel so flexible then. Also sorta related, if I choose to take a week off and head out of town. Because scheduling won’t allow me to set shifts when I’m not in the region, i not only lose out on the week of work I took off, but also an extra week because on return all the shifts are scooped up for that whole week. Unless I bow to tony xu of course and take enough orders in the month and only decline a certain amount

I still stick by my claim Roy sounds like someone who has a 14 second IROC Z Camaro and never got over his dominance of the drag strip in high school, panties droppin. Roy is spitting truth and ya’ll are acting way too offensively . If you’re a top tier driver you’re an employee. No different than a W2 worker. STOP making excuses. Anyone with a high AR is taking $4 or less orders 35% or more of the time. Top Tier drivers will slowly get more low paying orders sent to you over time until you eventually wake up and quit.
