A spectacular work of art. I am seriously considering purchasing one. But I can have a McGizmo Haiku and McGizmo sundrop for one of these. That being said this has the wow spectacular factor. Thanks for sharing. Will be on the focus website later this week to try to purchase .
Thank you. I too am a huge fan of the Haiku. It’s one of the finest quality lights you can buy and honestly, the gold standard. I always wished it was a little brighter though. Don is a good man that makes a damn great light.
Hi Jim! I’m a flashaholic and love the light! However I disagree with you philosophically. Or at the very least your comparison with cars is not apt. As you’re clearly aware, art can exist for no other purpose than to be art. Once you start talking about “functional art” and cars… First of all with cars there’s brand heritage, motor sports pedigree, provenance, and if McLarens couldn’t come close to beating a Civic off the line and/or around a track, it would have little value no matter how pretty it was. Part of what makes a supercar art is it’s superior engineering for superior functionality… at all cost, and that first and foremost, it’s a super CAR. Getting back to flashlights; unless it’s jewelry with a built in light rather than a light with built in jewels, a $1500 custom must outperform a $300 production light to have any real value. Otherwise, putting form over function is really just an exercise in increasing costs for no real purpose than just that. I get it with knives, that’s why I subscribe to your channel. I even have a couple customs myself, even though the majority of my collection is production. After all, a custom knife can claim to have more features, be of higher quality, sharper, smoother, and more durable, in addition to being prettier, than a production knife costing 1/5 as much; just as a supercar can accelerate quicker, turn faster, brake harder, is more communicative, have more advanced driver assistance tech, a higher top speed, in addition to being unique and looking good. Again, I’m a flashaholic myself but to me it’s tech, and all about advancing the engineering, power source, led performance, color rendering, beam throw, and light output. Now I always appreciate the passion exhibited for all the products you present, even though the product may not suit me; but fancy custom four figure “luxury flashlights” that can’t claim any performance advantage? I don’t know, that’s mighty close to a step too far🤣 Anyways, keep up the great work!!
You and me think the same they are nice and cool to look at but i would not buy a custom flashlight. If i where to spend over 600 on one flashlight i would go with the world brightest flashlight i would feel like i got my money worth with the lumens output
It’s funny - the clip and tritium slots are a deal breaker for me. I want to love this light but because of those two things it’s a no go which is a bummer.
This guy is smart he making money it the people who buy it that the problem. I have not bought a custom light like this to me it would be a huge waste of money but i have spend 400 on a super powerful flashlight.

Man it’s a gorgeous light. However, after carrying 14500/10440 lights around for over a year now, I don’t think I could ever go to anything that big.
