Bugs are usually issues with the software. In a reality of things, unlees a software roll out is pushed, there's really not much you can do. You can either "root" your phone and use custom roms but voids the warranty (and requires a bit of know-how), or, just avoid this model, and buy something else. I understand buying an affordable smartphone ($100-$150) saves a lot of money, but, if the device performs this bad, plus the bugs and all, it isn't worth it.
Totally understand, and again, if your tight on the budget and you need a smartphone, it will do smartphone stuff just fine. The concept of the video is just my own honest opinion since I've used 2 generations, so if you're coming from a redmi 9C and is upgrading to the 13C then in my honest opinion, it's not good.
Personally, you can go for any, as a matter of fact Xiaomi entry level phones are okay, there are just some not so good to just plain bad ones, best to check what's available in your region and do a spec comparison based on what fits your needs
Had to spend about $10 for a cover and screen protector, great phone for my younger daughter. Interface feels smooth and fast... can't really tell the difference inusing it between it and my Redmi note9 pro.
The fact that they are selling a product touting it as "brand new" while using old stock while marking up value is the problem. There's no value being given to consumers who are tight on the budget looking to upgrade, that's the problem.
Please is it good in multitasking apps like switching to different apps without them restarting?? I'm seriously thinking if i should drop the idea of buying after this review
I honestly wouldn't recommend it. As mentioned, this is a relativel old processor, and we all know MIUI Hogs a lot of memory even without much apps running in the background. I suggest to look somewhere else.
To be honest i've never used an iTel device before but based on the specifications on the website, it runs on Android Go which is a toned down version of Android. This can pose as a double edged blade meaning. Pros: This is lightweight, so applications will be in the "Lite" form, making it easier for multi tasking and not so impacting with the processor. Cons: Not all app developers create a "Lite" version of the main app, which can aslo pose as a problem for compatibility.
Don't get me wrong, for all intended purposes, the Redmi 13C is an okay smartphone for the price, I just couldn't fathom the idea they re-used the same chip considering I've used their previous C series smartphones the past years with the same chip. If this is your first time getting this, it is totally fine. 🙂
@@Momoh_Lawal yep not going to answer, simply because every brand has released their own take on a device with the same spec sheet so it just boils down on your needs and wants.😉
I'm not saying it is totally bad, it is more of just a reality check considering that the chip inside has been recycled multiple times over the past few years already. 😅
Personally any smartphone that is available in yout market at the same price or a little higher that isn't using the processing chip on this device is better.
I bought this phone three weeks ago, and have had absolutely no issues with it. It's fast, easy to use and built well. You'll only find problems with anything if you go looking for them
Yep, I agree and is also the case since the main purpose of a smartphone is to maximize it's intended purpose and not limit yourself with what you can do with it.
Moderate use, can last a day or two on a single charge, battery saver mode on + moderate use 3-4 days. Charging however, takes a while 1-3 hours or so from 0% to 100%
Honestly speaking, you're going to have to shell out a bit more, like increase that budget to at least at a minimum $180-200. Not a lot of Android phones can handle "Good Gaming and photography" at a low price, even the new CMF Phone 1 is priced at a $200 mark at best.
There's really just a few options to consider, either you spend the extra cash and get a better device with better specifications, or check out the gray markets for used/ second hand previously released flagships/midrange devices that offer better performance.
Watching from my ipad 8th gen beside me is my Redmi 13C. I had my POCO X3 Pro also but sad thing the mother board was fried so I bought this Redmi 13C ofcourse a downgrade from 120hz to 90hz and snapdragon 880 to MediaTek 85
How did you feel after the downgrade? Was the difference that much? My Poco X3 pro just went off and it's having a hard time staying on. I just ordered for the Redmi 13c.
this phone kinda suck because when i Enable 90hz it only works on The Home page, but when you open an app like yt, tiktok and games etc, it will automatically adjust to 60hz and there's no refresh Rate forcing
@Chrisispoint the 90hz works for scrolling through stuff or they typing but for apps it's default 60hz it's the same with Samsung a05s . It's does adaptive RR from 60 to 90 when typing or scrolling often .
Yep, which is okay, though personally I don't think this should impact the price, again the proc is old, probably some other components are recycled and given thr advancements of the brand, i think consumers are supposed to get more for the money, than something that is recycled.
60hz or 90hz in YT. But if it shows 1080p30, use 60hz because it lags a lot. Don't use 1440p and above, you can't do a thing to make it run on those resolution
As mentioned on the video, it is good if this will be your first smartphone, or if the specifications are indeed an upgrade but if it has the same processor, I highly recommend getting something else.
Should I buy Motorola Moto G54 5G smartphone 4/128GB or xiaomi redmi 13c, which one has better camera and best for games like pubg I want to buy it for my dad
I honestly wouldn't know since I have not tested out the G54 5G, but based on paper specifications the Moto is better considering you're gonna be having your dad play PUBG. Plus the fact that the moto has a midrange processor so better image processing for taking photos.
Like I said, can't really confirm since I haven't tested out that model yet, but if you're leaning towards raw specifications between these two models, you're better off with the moto than this redmi 13C, the redmi is cheap but specifications are dated, not really recommendable.
@@Chrisispoint but i asked ai and it says that the xiaomi redmi 13c has better camera and best for games like pubg than Motorola Moto G54 5G smartphone 4/128GB
Best to check online for alternatives, it is quite hard to recommend any, but try to avoid any smartphone that comes with a Helio G processor, especially from Xiaomi. The G85 is not a bad processor, it is just that their Android Skin is too heavy, so the overall performance feels sluggish.
never been a fan of entry level smartphones from Samsung to be honest, have not seen a model that passed my standards even from a budget-centric perspective.
honestly speaking, for me, no. It is by no means an upgrade, i'd rather stick to whatever I am currently using than buying this and say it is an upgrade just because it is new.
This is the worst mobile phone ever, i have bought this phone and for a 8gb ram phone its very slow even turning on the phone it takes very long to start up 😅 its a waste of money
Not really, it is just a common thing most brands do, which a lot of users has gotten used to. Seeing competitors that sell something of the same price but comes with free accessories in the box makes this device a bit of a stretch for the price.
@@Chrisispoint true. Ive bought it yesterday, actually got a new phone by replacing my old new redmi 13c which had issues with hanging. But im still worried as the mobile heats up while charging from 0-80% and stays normal further till 100%. And the battery is draining fast. So far no other issues.
That's pretty normal, especially if the device is in use while charging and is connected to WiFi or Mobile Data. The battery draining fast can be of many factors - app configuration (what apps are allowed to run in the background) - brightness levels - volume levels - app notifications - how many apps are open or left open The list goes on, so it really just depends on how you use the device. Usually this happens for the first 1-2 weeks, once the device gets used to how you use your phone, that heating bit will eventually fade, not completely but minimized.
as mentioned in the video, if your currently using any of the previous models released by Xiaomi that uses the same chip, no. If not, then sure it is an okay smartphone to use as an affordable daily driver
no it doesn't. I did mention this on the video. What you saw on the video is a tempered glass that I had to get, but out of the box no case or screen protector
Bro I noticed that when you said laggy and choppy I paid attention to your ping you were pinging your WiFi shot speeds shot up so I don't think it's lag it's wifi
True to a certain extent 🙂, I didn't include the whole clip but on WiFi it is okay, mobile data, depends on the location but there had been numerous instances that it does lag behind by a few mili seconds 🙂 More like it lags in terms of the processor and graphics chip processing the visuals which affects the performance is what I meant.
Yes you can since it is also Type C, but if the Redmi Note 10s charger support fast charging capabilities, don't expect the same treatment with the 13C
Most smartphones nowadays have some form of protection with those instances. I guess the safe way to go about it is to not leave it plugged in if you see yourself going to sleep or something.
It is quite sad actually, the norm previously of having to remove the extra stuff with flagships was a thing, which made those extra stuff on an entry phone acceptable but having to remove all the extra stuff didn't make sense anymore.
Is anyone using this as an mp3 player..? I have some decent Sony WH1000XM4 headphones and wonder if this phone will bring out the best of my headphones. Thanks
Most household appliances like a TV for example still uses a remote control which utilizes IR. Although most modern devices are slowly migrating to WiFi there are still some that works better on IR.
There are only a select number of phones that fall under the "gaming" category and I'm pretty sure many are aware of it, however it doesn't actually stop consumers from installing games.
I personally am not a fan of OPPO devices mainly because of the UI they use, after seeing the specsheet, which is virtually similar to the redmi 13C I opted to not push for the review as it is identical to the 13C 😅
😅, sorry to hear, I actually ditched it and opted to go for at least the Redmi Note 13 base model, relatively more acceptable, though I think even this should be much more affordable, but it is better than the 13C

Im hoping to get this phone soon for my graduation gift here in the Philippines it probably cost around 5k - 7k, pesos i hope my dad have enough for it and his safety cuz we arent really rich but my dad (in dubai gets around 12k dubai money) and i was in a rabbithole for days until this phone and video appeared. Thank you so much for this! You made me choose my future phone u gained a sub :3
Your welcome ☺️
Idk about others, but this phone is filled with bugs and privacy voiding checkpoints, i just sold mine and got a pixel
Good for you! 🙂
@chrisispoint is the bugs thingy true? Its obvious? How can we prevent the bugs other than to 'get another phone"
@@Chrisispoint Thx for the explanation. I just got this phone a couple days ago and to sell this one and get another model, just not that easy...
Which budget smartphone would you recommend?
Personally, you can go for any, as a matter of fact Xiaomi entry level phones are okay, there are just some not so good to just plain bad ones, best to check what's available in your region and do a spec comparison based on what fits your needs
Yeah I bought this phone and I regret buying it so I'm gonna get a job so I can buy a new phone until four to five years
good direction 🙂
@@thomasgaming7656 just sell it and buy a new one haha
@@PaulMarkX no one is gonna buy this phone
Had to spend about $10 for a cover and screen protector, great phone for my younger daughter. Interface feels smooth and fast... can't really tell the difference inusing it between it and my Redmi note9 pro.
They're just using up old stock. If the device is cheaper then what's the problem?
The fact that they are selling a product touting it as "brand new" while using old stock while marking up value is the problem.
There's no value being given to consumers who are tight on the budget looking to upgrade, that's the problem.
This is a good phone for normal use.But after the update to Hyper is just to slow.
And it kind of defeats the purpose of having an "update" if you do not update your phone to begin with just to avoid performance issues.
@@Chrisispoint Thanks for your reply. If i known it would be like this, then i wouldn't update. But now it is to late 👍
@@Chrisispoint thanks in a million. Then please how about the p55T and p55 plus,, is any good for multitasking??
To be honest i've never used an iTel device before but based on the specifications on the website, it runs on Android Go which is a toned down version of Android.
This can pose as a double edged blade meaning.
Pros: This is lightweight, so applications will be in the "Lite" form, making it easier for multi tasking and not so impacting with the processor.
Cons: Not all app developers create a "Lite" version of the main app, which can aslo pose as a problem for compatibility.
@@Chrisispoint well 'preciate it
Your welcome 😉
Great reviews on here. What would you say was the best 2 phones for similar money before I buy this redmi?
Don't get me wrong, for all intended purposes, the Redmi 13C is an okay smartphone for the price, I just couldn't fathom the idea they re-used the same chip considering I've used their previous C series smartphones the past years with the same chip.
If this is your first time getting this, it is totally fine. 🙂
@@Chrisispoint so which ones are better? For similar money. I value your opinion
He's not going to answer
@@Momoh_Lawal yep not going to answer, simply because every brand has released their own take on a device with the same spec sheet so it just boils down on your needs and wants.😉
I just ordered one . Its gonna be delivered tomorrow by 11AM😂 im excited. The one i have right now is too laggy. Never gonna buy Motorola ever again.
@@La5funnybone I know how you feel, got a Motorola and it's 💩 might get one of these tomorrow.
I have this phone 📱 now!!last week i buy.
Stopped watching when he said it doesn’t have an IR blaster. Really?
yep really
I just ordered it
I'm not saying it is totally bad, it is more of just a reality check considering that the chip inside has been recycled multiple times over the past few years already. 😅
This helped a lot. Thanks for a great, concise analysis

What is the GPS like on this fone? I've got an oscal now and it will lose position all the time
U say it doesnt come with a screen protector but looks like it does actually? :/
That is a tempered glass I installed, but out of the box no case no plastic screen protector
what phone do you recommend in this same budget.
Personally any smartphone that is available in yout market at the same price or a little higher that isn't using the processing chip on this device is better.
What about heat resistance
I bought this phone three weeks ago, and have had absolutely no issues with it. It's fast, easy to use and built well.
You'll only find problems with anything if you go looking for them
Yep, I agree and is also the case since the main purpose of a smartphone is to maximize it's intended purpose and not limit yourself with what you can do with it.
How is the battery, does it last long?
Moderate use, can last a day or two on a single charge, battery saver mode on + moderate use 3-4 days.
Charging however, takes a while 1-3 hours or so from 0% to 100%
Can you recommend an good Android phone that is good for gaming and has good quality videos and pictures. Budget $120
Honestly speaking, you're going to have to shell out a bit more, like increase that budget to at least at a minimum $180-200.
Not a lot of Android phones can handle "Good Gaming and photography" at a low price, even the new CMF Phone 1 is priced at a $200 mark at best.
Apart from Samsung, someone should recommend a phone with a sharp camera
There's really just a few options to consider, either you spend the extra cash and get a better device with better specifications, or check out the gray markets for used/ second hand previously released flagships/midrange devices that offer better performance.
Watching from my ipad 8th gen beside me is my Redmi 13C. I had my POCO X3 Pro also but sad thing the mother board was fried so I bought this Redmi 13C ofcourse a downgrade from 120hz to 90hz and snapdragon 880 to MediaTek 85
But that is a fine downgrade since you have an iPad, it would be a different situation if the iPad wasn't in the equation 😉
Yep that is the case with this unit.
@@1mm_mm_mm1 use 60Hz on gaming and 90hz on non gaming. The lag goes less in my opinion and experiences
60hz or 90hz in YT. But if it shows 1080p30, use 60hz because it lags a lot. Don't use 1440p and above, you can't do a thing to make it run on those resolution
But is it good or not😢 i really want to buy it im really sad because i want to buy the redmi 13C
As mentioned on the video, it is good if this will be your first smartphone, or if the specifications are indeed an upgrade but if it has the same processor, I highly recommend getting something else.
Pls is the any way that one can pick or answer calls with finger print on Remi 13c phone
I was wondering does this phone last for more than 3 years cause I'm planning of purchasing one right now
in a way yes, it just really depends on how tou use it and what do you plan on using it for
Should I buy Motorola Moto G54 5G smartphone 4/128GB or xiaomi redmi 13c, which one has better camera and best for games like pubg I want to buy it for my dad
I honestly wouldn't know since I have not tested out the G54 5G, but based on paper specifications the Moto is better considering you're gonna be having your dad play PUBG.
Plus the fact that the moto has a midrange processor so better image processing for taking photos.
@@Chrisispoint so is moto better for games like pubg and has better camera?
Like I said, can't really confirm since I haven't tested out that model yet, but if you're leaning towards raw specifications between these two models, you're better off with the moto than this redmi 13C, the redmi is cheap but specifications are dated, not really recommendable.
@@Chrisispoint thanks you very much!!
@@Chrisispoint but i asked ai and it says that the xiaomi redmi 13c has better camera and best for games like pubg than Motorola Moto G54 5G smartphone 4/128GB
Please which other budget phones would you recommend in place of this Redmi 13c.
Thank you
Best to check online for alternatives, it is quite hard to recommend any, but try to avoid any smartphone that comes with a Helio G processor, especially from Xiaomi.
The G85 is not a bad processor, it is just that their Android Skin is too heavy, so the overall performance feels sluggish.

You can simply check alternative brands that offer something of the price, like Infinix or Tecno or even realme
My Redmi 13C has been lagging from the very first day I got the phone. I don't know why
I have only used the phone for about 4 weeks now
As stated in the video, it is using a dates processor and MiUI aka HyperOS is quite heavy on resource hence the slowdowns

People saying they can see the pixel on the 720p display. Is it true?
If you watch content from a certain distance not so much, but if you look relatively close you will
@@Chrisispoint samsung A05s or 13c?
never been a fan of entry level smartphones from Samsung to be honest, have not seen a model that passed my standards even from a budget-centric perspective.
@@Chrisispoint To be honest me too. And what do you think about the 13c over all? Is it worth buying?
honestly speaking, for me, no. It is by no means an upgrade, i'd rather stick to whatever I am currently using than buying this and say it is an upgrade just because it is new.
Hello, have you tried playing the dream league soccer game on this phone, it has a way of bugging the phone system
Is this redmi 13c 6/128 is ah nfc support?
Technically it does, but may depend on the market if NFC is being utilized or not.
This is the worst mobile phone ever, i have bought this phone and for a 8gb ram phone its very slow even turning on the phone it takes very long to start up 😅 its a waste of money
Yep, that summarizes it ☺️
Is having no free cover rly bad?bcuz I alr buyed a cover
Not really, it is just a common thing most brands do, which a lot of users has gotten used to.
Seeing competitors that sell something of the same price but comes with free accessories in the box makes this device a bit of a stretch for the price.
no secondary mic for noise cancellation?
nope
Redmi 13 c 4k video does not support LCD and dual split not have
Hey loved the review. But can you plz tell me about the batter quality
Battery Life is okay, can last 2-3 days with moderate use, the downside is the charging speeds, would take about 2 hours or so to get 0 - 100%.
The battery draining fast can be of many factors
- app configuration (what apps are allowed to run in the background)
- brightness levels
- volume levels
- app notifications
- how many apps are open or left open
The list goes on, so it really just depends on how you use the device.
Usually this happens for the first 1-2 weeks, once the device gets used to how you use your phone, that heating bit will eventually fade, not completely but minimized.
@@Chrisispoint thanks bud!
Does it worth to buy? Does it better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 (4G)? I want to buy this smartphone, but I am not sure yet.
Not worth it, best to go for the Redmi Note 12 instead.
@@Chrisispoint Thank you for answer.
I can't find Redmi note 12 brand new in the market anymore,I was searching for it today
Any idea where I can buy it
what would you recommend around this price point?
I would suggest checking out products from realme or narzo, they have alternatives in that price range that provide more value for the money.
Using Redmi 14C now
Congrats
should i buy it or no please tell me😭😭
as mentioned in the video, if your currently using any of the previous models released by Xiaomi that uses the same chip, no.
If not, then sure it is an okay smartphone to use as an affordable daily driver
Well maybe you don't care about the phone
Try to understand the point of this video, rather than fixating on just one idea.
doesn't it have a screen protector? looks like it for me
no it doesn't. I did mention this on the video. What you saw on the video is a tempered glass that I had to get, but out of the box no case or screen protector
Cheap phone but so smooth, im a user
Bro I noticed that when you said laggy and choppy I paid attention to your ping you were pinging your WiFi shot speeds shot up so I don't think it's lag it's wifi
True to a certain extent 🙂, I didn't include the whole clip but on WiFi it is okay, mobile data, depends on the location but there had been numerous instances that it does lag behind by a few mili seconds 🙂
More like it lags in terms of the processor and graphics chip processing the visuals which affects the performance is what I meant.
Why they did the front camera in that shape why didn't they do like that normal circle selfie camera like almost every new phone
One of their old school formulas, recycle and re-use old materials probably.
Can i use redmi note 10s charger for redmi 13c?
Yes you can since it is also Type C, but if the Redmi Note 10s charger support fast charging capabilities, don't expect the same treatment with the 13C
@@Chrisispoint won't it affect the battery health long term cause of the watts
Most smartphones nowadays have some form of protection with those instances. I guess the safe way to go about it is to not leave it plugged in if you see yourself going to sleep or something.
Pity I was about to buy it until I saw two reviews that says no cover .Thats so stupid the phone will be damaged with a day .
Thanks
Honestly speaking, if you're not exactly an "Audiophile" so long as you're using those headphones, you wouldn't notice it as much.
Great review... Let me add the speakers arent that great
Thumbs up on that! 🙂
Glossy back, it has a plastic back case
Is IR really needed now when everything uses wifi?
Most household appliances like a TV for example still uses a remote control which utilizes IR.
Although most modern devices are slowly migrating to WiFi there are still some that works better on IR.
The redmi13 c is not a gaming phone, games hangs a lot on it
There are only a select number of phones that fall under the "gaming" category and I'm pretty sure many are aware of it, however it doesn't actually stop consumers from installing games.
