Easy HST's with bais binding strips: If your strips are bias strips, try sewing two (same width strip) together, press the seam, then lay your clear ruler down with the 45deg. line on top of the seam, and you can cut half square triangles that will have all straight-of grain edges! Just go on down the strip making cuts that are the same width as the width of your strips.
@@Chatterboxquilts Credit to THE JOY OF QUILTING (1995, by Joan Hansen and Mary Hickey), one of my treasured thriftshopped books! There they show how to do it with 2 whole panels cut into strips, which I tried when I was a beginner. A little hard to grasp but once I tried it I was charmed! After I started watching vids I've been surprised not to see it anywhere so far. It is especially great for HST's of 2" or less, when you need bunches. Anyway, recently I realized 2 strips is enough for a party, so why not? If any of you are mini-quilters I can really recommend it! Thanks Chatterbox for the nice videos!👍✂️💖🌟
Great ideas. I have many left overs and also a lot of puchased single fold bindings and seam/hem tapes. You have opened my eyes on how to repurpose a bin filled with this "stuff". LOL
At the cost of GOOD fabric on todays market, this makes perfect sense to do this. Thank you for these videos.
I've used up most of my batting scraps and strings by making string quilts, and Quilt As You Go quilts. Yeah, for leftovers!
Really neat ideas for using up scraps!
How beautiful! Thank you.
Great ideas. Thank you.
