- Here is act two of the September 23, 2003 preview performance of the original Broadway production of "Little Shop of Horrors" at the Virginia Theatre in New York.
After the failed Florida try-out earlier in the year, the show was totally scrapped and reproduced from the ground up, with a new director (Jerry Zaks), new choreography, new set design, and a new cast. Virtually the only element to survive the move to Broadway was the casting of Hunter Foster (fresh off of the musical URINETOWN) in the role of Seymour Krelborn. (Though, according to Foster in Stars in the House "Suddenly Seymours" live stream, he did have to re-audition for the role.)
The cast also features Trisha Jeffrey as Crystal, Carla J. Hargrove as Ronnette, DeQuina Moore as Chiffon, Kerry Butler as Audrey, and Rob Bartlet as Mushnik, as well as Douglas Sills as Orin (and others), Michael-Leon Wooley as the voice of Audrey II, and Martin P. Robinson, Anthony Asbury, Bill Remington, and Matt Vogel as puppeteers for Audrey II. - Розваги
The dripping blood in dont feed the plants is so cool
How the fuck can I enjoy Don't feed the plants if the cameraman doesn't know how to keep the fucking camera still and focused on the show?! Like, what the fuck is that shit? I wanted to see the closing number and some asshole is in the way and the guy recording the show won't fucking focus on it! IT'S FUCKING BULLSHIT! There is no excuse for that kind of sloppiness, no fucking excuse! This guy is a moron!!!!
@@matttestani8105 Like bro even the 1984 camera man stays stiller than this guy
I love the collective sigh of "yikes" when Seymour comes out with Orin's leather jacket, it's such an obviously bad idea.
I mean the original show did it too
@@Pinkiepiefan448 I know, it was a bad move on Seymour's part as in the actual characther, not the show's direction.
RIGHT?? Love Seymour, but Audrey makes it clear she isn’t with Orin for his style or anything. She’s going to be traumatized by certain things Orin did and Seymour didn’t think about it.
This 2003 Broadway presentation of Little Shop is wonderful!
Awesome cast, spectacular puppetry, amazing music and more.
Being in a full theatre production of one of my favorite musicals of all-time here as the voice of Audrey 2 along with a couple more minor parts would be one of my billion dreams come true.
I really want it to become a reality for me someday.
I’m assistant directing, doing props, featuring as the wino that says “then you go…” and also puppeteering the final puppet in a local production and it’s very fun and also stressful when you have to wear multiple hats 😅
Thank you so much for uploading this!!
Wow the effects for the plant are pretty good.
No surprise, they come courtesy of Jim Henson's company based on original puppet designs by a veteran Sesame Street puppeteer.
You think this version can be on the height of the one on Frank Oz's movie?
This is awesome, I have the 2003 cast soundtrack on my iPod, listened to it a lot as a kid.
it's my favorite cast recording!
Is it just me, or is Seymour even crazier here then he was in the movie?
That’s cuz the movie toned him down to make him sympathetic
That movie is a watered down version of little shop of horrors. Also in the end of the play the plant wins and takes over the world . The movie originally had the real ending but it didnt test well so they wrote a happy ending .
Too bad the entire ending wasn’t viewable.
I don’t desverve a nice guy ice tea I can’t with the subtitles 😂
U know I wish wood see that show cuz I would loved it
I for one welcome our a̶l̶l̶i̶g̶a̶t̶o̶r̶ botanical overlords.
Yall this was on September 23rd
So?
@@charadeonline On the 23rd day of the month of September, in an early year of a decade not too long before our own, the human race suddenly encountered a deadly threat to its very existence. And this terrifying enemy surfaced, as such enemies often do, in the seemingly most innocent and unlikely of places.
@@Niarydia oh . . .
Got More Of Those?
Like From 1982.
I bet yall wondering how the plant if lifting up in 36:07
any insight?
Yep, theirs a mechanism based in a tech crane inside the plant
This production is amazing but the only thing that looks bad is Audrey 2 he's meant to look like a Venus flytrap, not a monster
The soundtrack of this play feels so undead to me for some reason
Froogy 1 plant second act
I don't like this version cause the camera kept on moving and it was extremely difficult to see the show on UA-cam
Couldn’t see Jack squat. Worst boot leg ever.
