At 29:20 in the formula for bearing capacity of bolts, the value for fu should be taken as the minimum of ultimate strength of plate and bolt.
APSED Why we write ultimate tensile strength of the plate while calculating the bearing strength of bolt?
Min of (fub,fu)?
wonderful video sir...in 2019 I got 35.03 marks in gate by seeing only your videos...but now I again give gate in 2020...
At 23:32 , for a lap joint (single shear), shear plane may pass through the shank or the root. If it is mentioned in the problem where the shear plane passes through the you may take as given. Otherwise, if it is not mentioned then for a critical design we can consider the shear plane to pass through the thread, which would give the safer result.
APSED so what'd be value for ns and nn in case of lap joint if it's not mentioned in question
Rahul kumar, in that case assume thread to pass through shear plane as APSED have said in this comment, that is nn=1 and ns=0.
Bibin babu ku sir jab shank hi shear plane se pass ho rha hai to nn1 Ku hoga
@@oldsoul2829 but in this video they have taken nn=0 and ns=1... Is it incorrect
@@adityakushwah4980 Guys , if shear plane is at shank then Nn=0 and if it is at thread then Ns=0..This is for single shear...For double shear both might be 1..But for safer side always use Nn
awesome job sir. even if i had to pay for accessing these incredibly helpful videos I'd NOT have hesitated for a second. Thanks a lot.
Excellence tutorials. Codal provisions excellently explained. Thank you Sir.
I'am a huge fan of your videos. They are really great and have helped me a lot.
What An Explanation sir.....!!!
Thank you soooo much for this Help sir....
I really admire you from the depth of my heart....
Thanks Alot sir.....
That's good to hear. Do let your friends also know about the channel.
I Already done...
And will refer more....
Thanks Again sir....!!
sir,its really too usefull
Awesome. You are great 👍
Loved it. Very elegantly presented.
Thanks Munish. Have you checked our site learn.apseduverse.com/ ? Video lectures covering entire syllabus with study material, test series and most importantly, doubt support! Starting from Rs.1399/-
Thank you so much. The video is excellent.
Thank you brother..♥️
Salute u sir very conceptual
Thanks Himanshu, hope you have checked our website as well where we have covered full syllabus - learn.apsed.in/
Page number kya hai on is code
please give a page numbers of IS code
Nice explanation..
I have one doubt in bearing capacity of bolt..
Which value should be taken for Fu? Whether it is for bolt or for plate? And why?
The value of (Fu) should be taken and minimum ultimate tensile strength of both plate and bolt
Source SK Duggal Steel Structure book
... But into the code it is given (Fu) should be taken for the plate
In regarding bearing failure firstly that will fail which has lowest ultimate tensile strength....
I think the same problem you have also face..
but as per N. Subramaniyam book, the value of Fu in bearing capacity is taken as 410 in some example and 400 in some example. check it.
Actually In the newly edition of SK Duggal ... They have made it correct by using the value of Fu taking for plate...
Explanation... The bearing force will transfer from plate to bolt so I think they have taken Fu for plate
you are right..
I think for similar grade of plate and bolt, plate will fail before bolt fail by means of increase in size of hole in plate. but if we consider 8.8 grade bolt at that time we have to Fu minimum.
thank you.
To find An =( b-ndh) t what is the t if thickness of plates are different in lap joint or in double cover butt joint?
Smaller value will govern in that case
why, we do not appy reduction factor for bearing capacity of bolt?
sir give some example of the topic which have been for more conceptual clearity along with explanation
Sure...in the next video I will explain these things by taking examples
Nice
What is the exact meaning of shear force.I have seen lot of videos but still I am confused to define it.Please provide me with an example
Sir, how can I find nn and ns in butt joint??
please use different color while explaining i mean use two different colors
Why there is provision of max edge distance
The point number 7 is not correct it should not be less than 1.7 times it should be greater than 1.7 times in caseof hand flame r cut edges
At 24.21 it's not a clear satisfied with ns or nn
Sk duggal book me jo formula hai usme An ke sath nn multiply ho rha hai jise 1 mana hai lap joint me or apne bola nn 0 hogq to kese
Aap shi ho bhai
what all the subject yo prepared for gate?
