Taking our caravan washing machine out was something we had been dreading since we got our caravan. We knew it was going to be a big job if it broke or needed replacing. Those who have the same set up know the struggle is real.
For us, as we live full time in our caravan, our washing machine is used as you would in any household. I would rather wash my smalls and sheets in my own machine. Also, when we’re out in woop woop and Larry’s working on a remote Australian station, there isn’t a launderette for km.
In our Jayco Starcraft 2016 the washing machine is located in the corner of our on-suite next to the toilet.
Up until now we had had little glitches, like the spin cycle not kicking in when it should. That is until we turned it on and off again as you seem to have to do with electronics these days. Until now, that old chestnut had worked for us. No more!
Our full write up is on our Full Time Caravanning Website www.fulltimeca...
Note: Larry said 5 screws were coming down in the top cupboard. This was how he thought he had to do it, due to watching another how to video. Ours was actually 4 screws going up :)

Well done mate 👍 you should start a caravan maintenance business. I ve got a silverline and heard it was a PIA to remove the washing machine and or the fridge so we have never used the washing machine in 5 years. We just use it as a clothes basket for dirty laundry. My biggest fear was the the water lines come loose and leaks, it would rot out all the cupboards and floor etc the ol chipboard don't like water. Your a trooper though well done.
    cheers Johno

Is it completely necessary to have that exterior panelling surrounding the washing machine? I'd be tempted to ditch it for easier future access to the machine

Hi Lisa, 👋 No, it's not necessary, but it does look nicer with it on. I see new Jayco Caravans have this removed. They must have realised it was a bad idea.
The way Larry has reattached it makes it easier to remove in the future.

@full_time_caravanningaustralia 👍 I've been thinking of switching from my caravan twin tub to one of these machines but I was wondering if I could use it outside and hook up to a hose when I'm at a caravan park as that's what I do with the twin tub at the moment...it's just a bit time consuming having to move clothes from one side to the other to spin them!

@lisawanderess Larry says you could use one like ours outside and hook it up to a hose 👍 I would just make sure it's stable. I find the machine can interrupt the spin cycle and start to refill again if its contents or machine is off balance. It's a great machine though 😀
