I'm using a M30 B32 engine from a 78 733 E23 in my 2800cs E9, going with 45mm SK race carbs 265 5 speed from a E12, LSD also from a E12, the head has been swapped to later style with thicker head 85 cast date using the older camshaft to retain the distributor drive etc. .008 intake, .0010 exhaust adjustment, you can run them little tighter to get more duration, but at the sacrifice of proper oiling clearance. You should always check the oil bar for the cam the banjo bolts are notorious for coming loose, and causing loss of oil to the cam lobes. I've got complete 3.5L Intake manifold with injectors, the injector harness has been cut but still connected to the injectors it's off one of my future M30 builds I'm putting together, let me know if you want it for a build, it's from a California car 1985 633 E24. That motor sounds typical for higher miles, the rocker bars, and rockers wear out on these cars, hence the noisier valve train especially if the oil is not kept up.
Off topic, but you seem to know e30s. I tried searching all your videos. But wasn't able to find anything. I just picked up an 84 325. Runs great. Next morning I noticed a what sounded like rod knock. Very distinct red like thump sound. At idle. But when I step on the brake it stops. Keep in mind I'm not moving. Would a brake booster be the cause? I'm unfamiliar with these older bmws. I have a few modern bmws. And I'm pretty good at fixing them. The only thing I saw remotely close to my issue was a heater control valve near the booster known for knocking and needing replacement. However. I can make it come and go like a switch by touching the brake and releasing it. Your thoughts? And remember cars not in motion. Thanks in advanced. I'm subscribing as soon as I send this message. You have lots of great content.

Amazing contento!
Ticking is supposed to happen. Same as the vintage VW mechanical lifters
This is the same process for the m30b34? I have a 535i.
Also please do a video on replacing the clutch master cylinder and pedal bracket!
could u address e30 crank and cam shaft sensor fails?
Check to see if your fuel injectors are ticking. Pretty much all of my ticking noises coming from the fuel injectors. Just something to keep in mind.
