In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Ironclad. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. Later on, he explains his decision for each card he chooses and why it's important to the build. Towards the end, he gears up for an epic Heart fight you don't want to miss. I just wanted to thank you for the patience you show in your videos. You always explain things very well even though you must have answered the same questions a few hundred times by now. Some streamers might get annoyed by that but you handle it very well!

He also doesn't shove communist propaganda down my throat 1.5 hours into a run, unlike the other big StS channel
I'd like to posit that the Ironclad actually has access to an arsenal of weapons evidenced by the existence of Infernal Blade being able to make any attack.
Of course it's not the ironclad's regular sword - it's a special ritual soul-severing sword
In regard to making a tier list for Neow bonuses. You could take several different random maps and rank the bonuses for each map, highlighting how the pathing makes a difference. And even stop to compare how the ordering would change between characters

I’m starting to see that you have to value a card not just for what it does, but for the interactions it could have with other cards you may get later and how many of those exist. Tough game, but very satisfying. Thank you for showcasing and explaining so many of the different combos.

there are 7 rare potions: cultist, entropic, fairy, fruit juice, smoke bomb, snecko, and the character specific rare (heart of iron, ghost in a jar, essence of darkness, ambrosia)
Kinda funny how heart of iron is so rare when its just metallicize and it really does not make as much of a massibe difference later in the run whereas the other ones can completely save a hopeless fight. I would argue blood potion is more valuable than heart of iron.

As far as the sword thing I mean bash is a mace and bludgeon a hammer, I just assume he has similar pocket dimension magic as silent with her knives as just has a whole arsenal in his bag
Ironclad rivaling general grievous with his collection of sabers
I’ve always thought Sever Soul’s damage was subpar, but I’ve only just realized it’s because I’ve been comparing it to Ironclad’s other high damage expensive cards, like Carnage and Blood for Blood (sorta), when really I should have been comparing it to cards like Predator and Wheel Kick. Sever Soul trades 2 draw for exhaust. Understanding that makes it feel a lot more valuable to me. It also gains a teensy bit more damage over the other two

A problem with a 100 gold shop key is if you boss swap into ectoplasm and then run into a looter you would never have a chance to actually buy the key.
Although yeah Baalor's suggestion of just needing 3 out of 4 keys would mean you just had to get the other keys like normal. So that works out.
I believe the sword in the picture for sewer soul is the book of stabbing

@Baalorlord, I’m excited about your annual challenge! Would it be possible to put an overlay similar to the potion % with what your current win streak is?
Or if you’re wanting to keep a clean UI, could you at least say the streak count at the start of the run? So we can know how high stakes we’re getting each run?

Transform 2 is a no brainer on clad . You get that health back in no time
I agree that It is often very good, but there is also a reasonable chance to “brick” and get two useless cards, which leaves you off much worse than before (considering that you’re now down a bunch of health).
"Inflame" is not the Ironclads Sword either apparently... :^)
Does it blow anyone else’s mind that corruption is so hard to find? Like there are so many runs where he never finds even a single copy to pick…… I think the devs must have it coded in to have the absolute lowest chance of spawning possible because it’s almost never shown in these videos… I do believe it to be the most overpowered card in the entire game for sure.
I’m pretty sure it has the same chance of dropping as any other rare card. Remember, the runs shown on the channel do not encompass all of his runs, just the most exciting wins. It’s possible that the corruption runs were considered too “boring” for UA-cam cuz Corruption is so good.
No hate at all tho, just my thoughts :).
Ironclad better get his armory sworded out. Honestly, I don't get how he can handle this mess
Ironclad carries lots of swords, presumably in case some break. Also, clothesline doesn't depict a sword at all.

Against the heart, why did you use Spot Weakness instead of Inflame on turn ... 2 or 3? I feel like making sure you don't draw Inflame on a late turn when you already have dozens of strength is worth passing on one point of buff.

I would love to see more runs that you lose, so I can see what things can get out of hand or control and cause losses.
If you want to see the occasional lost run, check out the Low Budget Spire series on the unedited channel - I started it specifically to have a place where losses are possible and runs have some suspense!
