One of my musical heroes since 72
Me too!
And mine 🙏
Aqualung is simply a modern day MASTERPIECE. Every song is a classic....
I've always thought Ian was born way past his time. He would have fit right in during The Middle Ages.
Best court jester ever
Not sure about "fit right in" ...I always thought a lot of his lyrics were tongue-in-cheek insults to the Church Of England and the accepted "norms" of British high society. Free speech wasn't exactly a right back then. He would indeed be a master of the Lute, Lyre, Harpsichord and Flute. But I have a feeling he would be compelled to speak his mind in his songs. They would excommunicate him on his way to Sunday School which is nothing compared to what the King did Monday⚰
@@PsychoBunny61957RB, perhaps or maybe he would just have been banished from the village or at least from Piccadilli square.
True, he would have fit right in at our local Renaissance Faire
Thank goodness for that! I’d hate to have missed all these glorious years of his music and wit.
Ian Anderson was born perfectly when he was as far as my life is concerned. A beautiful human being bringing joy to several generation's so far. A gem recording, thanks
Truely , one of a kind. No one even compares to him. Sovereign Nation
One of the greatest musical geniuses of our time ..he changed the way I experienced music since I heard him the first time in 1971..👍and also inspired me to learn the flute..Thanks Ian ..you are the greatest..Daniel from South Africa..
Ian is brilliant in every way yet never takes himself too seriously.
Ian, thank you for opening my eyes to the real world, your the best....
Loving Jethro Tull since 1970
His voice has held up so well, after all these years- very impressive!
Grandi bicipiti femorali
He and Jon Anderson (YES). Both still sounding amazing!
He's got copd. Bad lungs from all the smoke machines. Sad.
So heaven, not so well
@@watershipdown3630 Gotta agree- they really were something special! Totally unique, and have stood the test of time. And yeah- I can still sing the whole Songs From The Wood album while walking alone in the forest, like I did back in high school 🙂
Simply incredible he is still the best artist I ever seen in concert
Someone just gave me a thumbs-up on my comment it just so happens I happen to be watching Jethro Tull from 1976 from Tampa Bay Florida just got it in the mail yesterday on DVD very hard to find if you're a jet Rotel lover try to find this DVD it is nothing less than fantastic picture and sound quality are superb with all his old band mates Martin Barre John glasscock John Evans Barry Barlow David Palmer this is volume one I'm going to try my hardest to try to find volume two

Wonderful to hear Tull played as classics!
Hello my friend Ian!You always keep a distinct place in my heart! You, Jethro Tull and your music!
I love Ian Anderson playing and singing.
the sound penetrates my soul
🎶🎵🎼🌺🌸❤🌼
BEAUTIFUL 😊😊❤❤😊😊
What a master performance, enjoyed thoroughly!
What a way to take a fine song and make it better!! Saw Tull for the first time in ‘72 during the Thick Brick tour and a couple of times thereafter. They always put on some of the best shows ever.
Love Ian's pirate bandanna
Páni muzikanti! Nádherná skladba! Original!
Mother goose è un brano che mi porta per le campagne... Fantastico!!!
What a wonderful version...
Beautiful

Bellissima❤❤

“Let me cry you a song”
Ian Anderson 1969
I came down from the sky to cry you a song...that is TULL
Happy birthday IAN..ministrel of my Life.
Thank you for making my day.
Simply fabulous!!!
Perfect ❤❤❤❤
This is so cool...I have been a Tull Fan since the very first day I heard Aqualung. I saw them many times in concert. These days my thoughts always seem to be wonderment....wonderment for what in incredible and unique musician Ian was....and to me he is proof that this kind of talent you are born with - a gift from the gods for sure..... :-)
Thank you Ian!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏💕💞💕
Genio inalterable a través de los tiempos.
i guess it is quite off topic but does anyone know a good place to watch newly released movies online ?
@Darius Gideon I would suggest flixzone. Just search on google for it =)
Sounds medieval & I love it!!!
So incredible saw you in seventy at the philadelphia spectrum thick as a brick you did everything
Love it 💜
A Master in his own right!!🥰🥰
First time hearing this song. Got really, really emotional with the instrumental part of it. UA-cam is getting worse every day with all those AD's, but it's great to be able to watch performances from before I was born so easily!!
P.S.: Third time listening to this in a roll
What a strong voice, to be able to still be able to enthralle his audience. A story telling captivity of your soul. 🙃🙂🙃🙂
Love it. Love the musicianship too, although the arrangement is a bit rough. Also, Ian Anderson sings it so well, but the vocals on the record are another level.
Great band, great performance. Ian does it again. I really enjoyed the solo's in this version. Who's on bass I wonder? I've always thought that Ian was always underrated as a guitar player. Some of his stuff like this and "One White Duck" are tough to play "correctly". Thank you!
Must be Jonathan Noyce who was then in JT regular band.
@@thomaspricker9142 six strings-bass player here is David Goodier , he is the Jethro Tull bassist (official)
Absolutely lovely. Thanks for posting this. ♡♡
Awesome and highly underrated guitarist. Love this song.
I got to see them once in Minneapolis at old Met Stadium. Around '74?
Best part of youtube are videos like this one! Amen to Ian and magical friends!
Magnifique music one of a kind absolutely far out fr.Philippines

In a word GENIOUS need more be said!
Beautifull
I was 17teen when i heard it for the first time...1972...Now as then

Great music oh yes
Honored to be the 110 comment on such a masterpiece always one of my favorites with Summerday sands. Lately Sylvan Esso and Alt-j are favorites. You know good music what else can you recommend? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
Energy 1000 !!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Una versión única e impresionante de Mother Goose...

Hello Guillermo
@@jugoldman2230 Hola, cómo andas?
@@guillermolacretta9627 well thank you and enjoying listening to jethro tull and trying to learn some songs on the guitar 🎸 como estas?
👍👍🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸👍👍
👍👍🖤🖤
I love the Basson and English Horn on the arrangement and call back . Ian sounds better vocally in this key . Mother Goose one of his great Jethro Tull classics.
❤
❤️❤️❤️
Like a Port wine :-)
Fucking brilliant 💪
The guy blows away ha ha any wind player in any orchestra.
Another brilliant song from Aqualung
Go Coys!
The last time I played a soccer game was when my then 9 year old son was beating me 6-1 at halftime, so did the dad thing, rage quit, he is now 25 and we still have not played it again together. He understands, lol.
What?
🌸🌷
Who else besides me thinks the blonde over Ian left shoulder (audience facing) looks like Helen Hunt from Mad About You?
Whats jethro tull and stonehenge got in common
Rock that lasts
Creative
👍😘
L'uomo dagli splendidi bicipiti femorali!!..
😍👌💕
What kind of guitar is that? Quite smaller than your average acoustic
It is a parlor guitar, as a guitar player myself I can tell you they're not for everyone's taste, they have a distinct sound and as you can see they're much smaller.
@@TheLeadSled Thanks for the answer; I've wondered about his tiny guitar for a while
I saw a violin analog called a pocket fiddle used around the time of the British Colonies in America.
Я умираю, когда слышу это слышу... и так сорок лет
Too nice to rock'n'roll, too nice to die with JT!!
мне очень повезло с JT бывал на их концертах не раз!!

absolutely fabulous, of course. he's too big for that dark HOF building anyways
Thar is music ....
Needs more cowbell, honestly, when ARE they going to learn!
Still....v good.
Hee hee
He had to change his singing style for the fact he was getting older and his voice isn’t the same. His new music is just as fantastic, but just hits differently because I’m used to his voice from the 70’s
and he's not standing on one leg when he plays flute so much lately
@@danstrayer111 great times! That and his facial expressions were amazing! He knew hoe to entertain for sure! I do miss that side of Ian though.
I thought the flute was playing a different scale than the original.
Who thinks the blonde over Ian's left looks like Helen Hunt?
Cosa sarebbe il mondo senza Ian Anderson?...Black lives matter
I have seen Jethro Tull 12 times (including Ian solo tours) but never with an orchestra, this is a wonderful way to perform their music. But the last tour I saw in San Jose, CA "Ian Anderson plays Jethro Tull - The Rock Opera" was terrible. The show had no flow, lacked excitement and the songs were poorly performed, you can't always get an excellent Tull concert like this.
