Theres a village near us called Peterstone Wentloog which is out of the way that reminds me of Sunk Island which was great for doing driving lessons learning to control the car and manoevres!
Hi Andy. Wow having a plane in one's garden in I think a one off. Brilliant.🎉 Beautiful war memorial. Very respectful.. Awful how much is lost due to costal erougion. Care home has a stunning facade.. What a tall spire, that church inside stainglass stunning too. All of the church is beautiful. Memory tree lovely thought.. A well loved looked after church. A very interesting thoughtful village. Well worth a visit.. Brilliant video. Thanks
Brilliant episode Andy, I particularly enjoyed it because can you believe we've just moved house about 3 miles from there so Patrington is our go to place for all the fab facilities :) Happy New Year, keep up the good work
Brilliant video, Andy. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas & New Year. You’ll have to bring Nicky back in warmer weather so she can do her own episode about the church for her own channel 😁👍
In Winestead you should have found the keyholder and gone into the church which is well worth seeing My maternal grandparents came from there, and are mostly buried in the churchyard. The chancel of the grade 1 listed church is 12th Century and has carved corbels. The interior contains a large medieval tomb as well as the usual pews etc. Behind the church is a moated area which once held a manor house.
No time for that. I have over 10,000 of these to make, and I have time constraints. Here I needed to be round this post haste because any later and the light would have been an issue for Easington, where I was going next. That one involved trekking to the end of Spurn Point on a bike, and getting back before dark. Dangerous otherwise due to the tides. You have to realise I'm not out there to capture every minute detail.
You can ask for a bungalow as a youngster but more than likely they will tell you to get lost unless you are disabled as things dont get given unless its warranted!
I remember the Olivers Bakery from years ago on the Pump Row!

So glad you’re doing a prog about the most overlooked riding of Yorkshire.
Andy doing his best Jeremy Clarkson impressions no doubt...."One of the greatest villages....in the East Riding of Yorkshire" 🤣🤣
Ah I wondered if someone would see through that. That was actually an attempt at it!
I left Patrington 60 years ago at the age of 10. Even though I now split my time between Canada and Thailand, I still consider Patrington home..
I remember many years ago going to the pick your own strawberries places near Patrington along with my father!
I remember many years ago doing a sponsored walk with the Brownies from Withernsea to Patrington along the old railway line!
I remember the village hall and going to lots of parties there!
Trowbridge Green reminds me of Patrington Haven in how its laid out with the village square!
Great stuff, I left Patrington 30 years ago. Nice to see that it has hardly changed.
I wish you a very good 2024 and welcome back to ER..
Thankyou once again..
Years ago i made a model of Patrington church out of paper!
My aunt and uncle had a small-holding at Patrington haven way back in the 50s. All gone now of course.
Its like Laceby with the village square!

The area around withernsea is where most of the countrys veg is grown!
Its funny not seeing the Humberside signs in Patrington!
