    I knew these were going to be great tips for everyone as soon as I heard the first tip. Cause being more then a author is how tons of people now and days make their book way successful then just being a author. Great work Mel!

    Tips for writing a book::
    1. Have the idea,
    2. Write the idea,
    3. Build on the idea,
    4. Review the idea,
    5. Don't give up,
    6. Believe,
    7. Be open to suggestions, BUT;
    8. Don't let others become the sole writers of your story (that is, listen, but remember to put your own touch to whatever you decided is a good idea.)
    ...

    Ok but MELLLL honestly, when I saw this video, at first I thought Oh cool mel posted a tips for authors growing their audience, and pressed it thinking it was going to be like every other video. Of course, I still wanted to watch it cuz your content is already A+ but after seeing the video I've realised how this content was definatelyyy not like every other regular video's one. They give the usual tips that you hear all the time but yours was so much more specific and overall just way better so thank you!

    That first tip really got me. One of my biggest struggles on my UA-cam channel and even social media is believing that the only thing I can post about is writing. But my life is so much more than that. Thanks for this Mel.

    I loved all the five tips! The first tip is what I really agree with. Indeed not always bookish content can draw readers attention, this world is lil bit more curious about person life...lol(well, count me in). I believe that confidence is truly necessary while dealing with the globe. The time when I am 100% sure about the topic only then I share it! And you are correct, respecting reader's opinion is the best way to grow audience. If we cannot accept our flaws and keep on arguing about it blindly, degrade our social quality. Most of the authors I met are introvert, but still many can interact with their readers so nicely, like YOU

    I'm so glad you tackled people's opinions of creative writing. It annoys me knowing people are willing to call people names and compare serious issues to this. Just please, live life and writes!

    Mel, This video was helpful and I certainly agree with everything you have said in this video. Readers are allowed to have their own thoughts on the books and stories we write. Arguing with them or blocking them from writing reviews would only mean that these readers would not get the opportunity to express their thoughts. The reviews page on Goodreads is a scary place for authors, but we don’t have to read all the reviews. If readers approach us with feedback, we can consider the feedback to improve our writing unless it is disrespectful. Connecting with readers is important as well as sharing our interests outside of books and writing. I love you

    • @MelTorrefranca

      Agreed! Great point about not reading reviews. It can be unhealthy to do so sometimes. Thanks for watching!

      Thank you for your reply. Yes, reading reviews can be unhealthy and result in losing our confidence as a writer.

    I love collab videos and ah this is so interesting. I agree that having confidence is so important, not just to persuade people to pick up your book but also just to meet ppl. My introverted side is like "um hi maybe I should just say it in my head. Or should I comment on a post. Dm? How do you say hi to url friends????" lol
