But I expected a more detailed explanation about what rows and columns are, what on earth categories/blocks truly mean (i.e. how that effects the layout of things) and how you can change the positioning of assets on your page in any configuration out side of what the template provides. I find it extremely annoying trying to add simple elements and assets to a page and have them where I want them let alone creating separate pages. Just some friendly feedback.
I'm confused cos the menu bar that appeared on my screen is a little different than what appeared here and I can't find some of the tabs that was explained... like the 'writing' tab under setting is not there for me... -"-
i find wordpress a little limiting, especially when compared to software like wix where one can drag and drop and build it all yourself, what is the advantage of using Wordpress maybe im missing out on something ?

You have to use a shared host like Bluehost and install WordPress to get access to plugins. If you're using the .com version of WordPress it's functionally a website builder and the restrict plugins until you upgrade to a business plan or higher.

Not really. My blogger blog is technically on a free host and I make $10-$30 a month max from ad revenue and the odd one off affiliate sale. A site on a WordPress dot com is a good start, but long term you'll want to upgrade to a paid account for all the features you'll need.
