Well I think that maybe a tax should be introduced. Namely there are an awful lot of people who have pets, especially cats and dogs, just to have them than actually look after them. But of course I wouldn't put it past the state to be overly fervent so as to take every possible cent.

We are already taxed when we buy the pet, vet bills, food, toys, and we register all dogs. So, we are already taxed to death. Your taxed on the gas to go buy the stuff, the car you drive, the tags you have to have to drive it, the insurance, and your tax on the roads you drive on. Your tax on the house you buy for them to live in, the electric, the phone, the insurance, it goes on and on. So, no they get enough from us. Peace!
Well said! Taxes to extent are theft to our hard earned money! They didn't work for it, they didn't do the overtime to earned it!

Preach it FF! I hope they don’t start taxing us for our pets. This is America, we should have the freedom to keep pets as long as they are safe. I get why I can’t have a tiger as a pet. They are too dangerous and I don’t have the knowledge to keep a large cat. But a fish tank should be our God given right. As humans we are a part of the natural world and we need that connection to nature. Whether it is houseplants, a garden, or a fish tank, we need nature in our lives.
Okay okay, I looked it up and the AI overlords told me that the proposal would require an annual registration of $25 per pet and that they likely would have counted fish tanks as a unit per tank regardless of size. Overall, it sounds completely outrageous and ridiculous and I am glad the people managed to prevent such an atrocious tax from becoming reality!

It will be ignored just like the rainwater ban in some states.
Assuming the bill passes, they will eventually find a way to make it hard to ignore, such as strengthening pet licensing laws and tying this additional yearly tax to the license.
Right now, it's almost impossible to find a vet who will do any sort of procedure on your dog or cat if you refuse to comply with your state's vaccine mandates. I can foresee a future where it will be similarly difficult to find a vet who will treat your pet without a valid license.

I completely agree with father fish here for the most part, but when humans do things on a large scale that violate nature such as dumping chemicals into a river, the government has to step in and mediate that relationship with nature.

The male betta is a loner. He becomes triggered by pheremones from a fertile girl betta and begins nest building. Intruders beware! He will protect babies until they swim away.

This is a strange and fascinating situation. I'd be curious to see the details of this proposed bill. I just can't imagine what they mean by "tax your pets" 😂 surely this is some kind of a misunderstanding?
They don't want you to have animals or skills at all, because they are a route to self sustainability and freedom.

@FatherFish yea I know I thought the same thing I lived there for 4 yrs 2012-2016 and I still talk to people from there and we was talking about it just the other day and that's when she told me the price

Father fish do you know about natural law and how natural law is the highest level of law. Above common law, and defenitly above civil law which if u do some research on is bogus. Except we live under civil law and we all just accept it
