More rifles like the VPO would be such a nice addition to the game. I'd love to be able to use a 20k rifle with 7.62x39 PS or PP, or even a bolty in 5.55. Theres so many bolty quests and so few bolty options
5.56 Bolt action sounds awful and a torture to use
300 BLK bolt action is the sweet spot. Benefits of moderate dmg and quiet when suppressed. Make it a good mid range gun.
I’d say a .300 blackout or 5.56 mossberg mvp or some variant of savage rifle to give the game something unique and lesser shown.
See my thinking was a Ruger ranch. Rail plus threaded barrel out the gate.

tip with the mosin ammo, check out fence early wipe for LPS or even 7.62 PS, that sort of thing
i use vpo for most of shooter series but mosin with the new ammo on day 2-3 of the wipe was a fun experience everyone was naked with mosins, got it done in two raids, but i have always enjoyed the vpo 215 early suppressor too.

Thanks for making a video on this quest. I usually do it before level 15 due to the large XP reward and it's quite a challenge. I ended up using a mosin for most of it this wipe but used mostly the VPO on my first wipe. It's interesting to see how these two guns stack up.
My weapon of choice for TS pt.3 was the Mosin Obrez trade off Mechanic 2 but I probably waited longer to do it then most. Combined with a 553 halo and the Hybrid 46 can it was really enjoyable to use and easy to hit your shots. Some crafted SNB and Bob's your uncle.
Always used the mini mosin from fence for this task because I like the mini mosin and it's the only time I can justify using it😂

In practice, the Mosin can only be loaded to 5+1 out of raid or by switching to another weapon and loading from the inventory menu; this means that after the first shot, the Mosin really only holds 4+1, negating any meaningful capacity advantages.
Trying to do part 8 with VPO, managed it twice so far. Once i died going to extract, second one i forgot to reset the mission 😢

Does the quest reset even if you get all 3 kills and still die? I finished mine without dying, and didn't feel like finding out

honestly given how unarmored people go to factory early wipe, and the introduction of SP-BT, right now it only comes to feel, since its an even playfield for both VPO and Mosin. 99% of people in factory were either pistolings or only had mosin/vpo, so you could most of the time one tap to the thorax since they didnt run armor.
I believe this analysis is more akin to after the first month of wipe, where armor and gear is more prevalent.
Great empirical content as always! The VPO-215 and AP ammo made Tarkov Shooter 3 a breeze for sure. That and banking on a lot of pistolings trying to do Stirrup lol

Yeah I used to do this with AP-M and would finnish it quickly. This wipe I still havent done it because I tried like 5 times with geksa because you cant get APM and its just impossible. not fun at all. For some reason it seems the players going into factory nowadays are geared up their teeth. Not fun at all. People used to go into factory with almost nothing, that was more fun I think.
Slight mistake/partial truth @2:07 : the hand goes in front of your vision while running the bolt only with the moisin infantry version, the sniper version has an angled bolt handle (IRL it's like that to avoid it colliding with the optics)
also at 1:20 removing the rail and cap on the end of the barrel, can be sold back, making it less than 18k
You could try for the short mosin as well and just aggro-push like a madlad. It’s a little more costly, of course, but you’ll have to worry less about aiming right.

I used the mosin with sp bt for the iron sight kills and the rest of tarkov shooter pretty much the vpo, I use it religiously and even took out a 3 man that had ask 74u in close quarters by big red lmao
If it wasn't for needing to be in close range for shooter 3 I would also say it's easier and cheaper to mount a suppressor on the VPO as well. I managed to black both legs of a player on shooter 2 and he never knew where I was.
Well, I often get the stat of 0 shots fired even though I'd swear I shot them like twice and got head-eyed in return... not fun
VPO gang, even though this wipe i got them with the mosin. Actually the best is back when the sv98 was cheaper, throwing a red dot on that was peak. You almost always got those back because nobody wanted one, and the mags let you have 10 rounds of lps gzh as an emergency, with 1 mag of the best 7.62x54R you had. But since 366ap was added and mosin ammo got nerfed, vpo has been the best for tarkov shooter 3 for me.
I always choose the VPO with AP ammo for one-taps on low-end armor.
Vpo with compac 2x was my absolute favoutite at start of wipe.. apm ammo smokes
So I ran about 15 factories playing VPO and I haven't killed a single PMC with VPO. I definitely jinxed like 4~ kills along the way, but it just feels insanely hard to kill a single moving thing with this weapon.
I consistently one tap scavs to thorax and head, yet players just feel like a bullet sponge.
I play AP-M and people just keep tanking every single shot above the stomach, I have a couple of clips where I aim literally right below the neck in the middle of thorax and the guy just survives.
I really don't understand how armor works in this game in the current patch, every time I die in a fight with a PMC I have 200-300 damage to the body with this gun and like 10 damage to armor.
Every single time when I ran into a mosin though, doesn't matter what armor I wear the thorax shot ALWAYS kills me. I think I'm gonna switch to Mosin and give my results, but I just for the love of God cannot kill anybody with VPO idk why.

This wipe I got it done in 1 raid on factory with a carbine mosin
Minor detail regarding the magazine limit; you can't load up to 5 rounds in Mosin internal magazine unless you're out of raid or switch to another weapon and load one more bullet. If you try to load up to 5, you'll just keep extracting the bullet in the chamber, put another bullet in then chamber it, the magazine still remains 4/5. Also keep in mind to reload consistently so you do not have to chamber a new round in from 4 rd mag, making it 3+1, reload with 1 unfired cartridge in the chamber so you end up with 4+1.
With the Mosin, you can go 5+1, but like I mentioned before, you stay up to 4+1 unless load extra bullet offhand. Pull out other weapon, load 1+ round in rifle, pull rifle back out takes longer than reloading magazines for VPO-215. However, it may be easier to load Mosin rather than VPO-215 because you load in the rifle, instead of several magazines for VPO-215 so it's more convenient, but that's personal preference. Go with what you can handle the best.
If you have a secondary you can load it to full from your inventory screen when secondary is equipped

I used the obrez mosin 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 it actually wasn't too bad cuz the increased ergo and need for cqb works well

Ngl i just made a super cursed sawed off mosin with a crazy long barrel and it was super ez, i also got a noice tagila rig from it which is fun
I tried doing it with mosin with no luck and then switch to VPO and managed to do it withing 1-2 raids for CQB bolty VPO is better IMO.
I just watched a minute and 17 sec into this video well loading in and got all three head shots instantly lol. After 9 raids of nothing lol

As a new commer, I struggle with I dentifying targets and deserning what direction I'm taking shots from. Any advice to improve these issues? Thanks.
I still struggle with this, I use postFX that makes it a bit easier to see players, look up guides for best postFX for visibility. But the best tip is you just have to learn where players usually are and constantly look at those places.
I'm also gonna try running this on factory for my 5 kills on psycho sniper wish me luck!

Shot a guy twice in the chest today with M80, he had on level 6 armor and smoked me.
Next raid I took in a VPO with APM rounds. Headshotted a guy. He was wearing a level 6 helmet. I got rinsed.
Its about that time of wipe where I completely stop having any fun whatsoever
Early wipe, I tend to main the VPO, however I'm not a fan of EKO and prefer to use FMJ as it feels more consistent for my playstyle and I struggle with EKO. Great content, cheers dude.

From my 2 year point of view, while we are having shitty reg, both version might not kill your opponent.
Technically, VPO on AP-M would be better choice. Since Mossin with its LPS might be… frustrating. LPS bullets might not kill guy even if you make a headshot from 5 meters. But AP-M might shot down opponent into the chest.
Yesterday had fking situation with Bot on Shorline. Got one PMCs mossin with LPs. Found one Scav with gas mask. 4 bullets into the head - 0 reaction. Scav - made last shot from 7.62 HP and head/eyed me.
The other case. VPO on woods. Close quarters in sunken village. 3 Scavs. 3 shots into chest. 3 dead scavs.
(Also used EKO shit on Scav sniper, it required 2 headshots to kill the bot)

Every time i use the vpo it feels like everyone else is iron man. Mosin gets it done tho

Ricochet chance calculation is done before penetration one.
I have literally never heard of anyone say that the mosin is better for this quest than the VPO. I feel like you're making an argument up here. Nobody in their right mind thinks mosin ammo is better than the chance to 1 tap with VPO AP ammo.
I see loads of people doing it with a mosin - outside of AP though, it's not as clear cut. When I did the quest I didn't have access to APM
If you're going to use the mosin you can get the obrez version and stick two floodlights on it.

Use to have the same issue but then realized that changing position quickly after first shot then making them do a left hand peak always worked. Most people are NPCs and hold the same angle, I take advantage of that. Also you have to hit your shots lol bind hold breath to a different button so my sights are steady is another thing too
And also, nobody takes the VPO, you always get it back

I always loathe those tarkov players who say 'Argh! I hate this quest!' when its regarding something like setup, or shooter born, etc. They are tedious but doable for anyone with patience...
This quest though, if you arent good at quick aiming with a mouse or you have shaky hands, its literally impossible. I can never complete it in my nearly 3k hours. I had a better chance this wipe but after 10 deaths in a row, and finally getting a kill at EXACTLY 25m which didnt count, i discarded all of my bolt actions and never touched it again. It is absolutely horrendous....
I got mine done in 2 raids bc everyone's naked on factory for some reason.

Looks like the VPO has a straight pull bolt which might explain the better scores.
No it's not. Even the animation in game clearly shows your PMC/scav turning the bolt.

I would say the m700 since the beard oil is pretty cheap, but with price changes of attachments and scopes makes it difficult.

I didn't buy one then, and I wouldn't buy one now for that price.
It's only good for reloading a bunch of times and throwing into a bush to level up your bolt action rifle skill in the game.
