For those who have struggle to keep up, here is a text version of the tutorial > - Press Q to quick mask an image. - Set foreground colour to dark gray, the darker it is, the more similar it would be to the image. - Now press ALT + BACKSPACE to fill selection with foreground color (for Mac, OPTION+ DELETE) - Press Q again to quick mask and hit OK. Now you have transparent mask of the image and ready to generate. Happy editing ~
agree we need a full tutorial! i have no idea what Q does and it feels like a cheat code right now that i literally wrote down on a sticky note! i wish there was an easier way!
I created an Actions set that creates gray selections on a scale of 10%-99% black to achieve various degrees of generative style application. I also created actions that store style description prompts, so you run a gray action, and then run a style action.
Hitting Q turns on the Quick Mask (rectangle with circle under color swatches). Select a fill color that is 70% gray or so. Select All and fill with this gray color. You should see a lighter red over your image. Disable the Quick Mask by hitting Q again or click the icon in the tool bar. You will probably see a warning about an invisible selection. Just hit OK. Click generative fill and type water color. Boom. As he said, the darker the gray you fill your mask with, the effect will be LESS. Lighter gray shows MORE effect. Hope that helps.
grrr, as an artist, i wanna murder these ais tho i'd say it's so impressive how good these are??? even though they still make a bunch of mistakes (they often mistaken hair as water, wrong direction of shadow, or complete proportion nonsense)
I think the basic idea is that photoshop uses whatever's *outside* the selection as input to the generative fill algorithm. This method makes the entire image partly inside and partly outside at the same time.
Can anyone tell me why my contextual task bar disappears when I press Q?. I have pinned the task bar in position, but it still vanishes when I press the Q key. Thanks to anyone who can explain.

Thankyouuu
I hope someone treats you really nice tomorrow and that you have friends and family that love you.
It doesn't work. Warning: no more than 50% of the pixels selected. So it won't select anything. So the Generative fill is inactive.
@@turitamasnyirbatorThe generative fill does work just doesn't look good, might just depend on what you are trying to make
Would love a full video on this.
I will try to make a video on this
I would enjoy some long form tutorials on this subject
Funny seeing rimworld lad here
There is also the option of commissioning artists.

the loop is clean
even Adobe can learn from you 😄... good work

That is insanity! So cool.
You need to say what you're doing, not just give the hotkeys, especially when you don't show what you're doing.
Agreed
Please make a full video on this 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Always surprising me, my man. Blessed and thanks for all the tips!
😍😍 I’m going to try this!

Bro Suggest good wireless keyboard and mouse multidevice connected option for graphical design 🙂
So half transparency selection would reflect half of the features of the image?
it does not work for me. i have a gray image as a result, what is my error? Can I read this somewhere, you talk so fast

@@BigAl444. your directions don’t mention the Cmd+Delete. Either way, “generative fill”does not show up in the little tool bar.

And then I took a lighter gray brush to the mask and revealed more of the original. Worked great!
Wow! I didn’t know this one!!
You are an example of how AI is going to help the skilled ones. I would've never thought of that.
Help a skilled what exactly?
@@MichiruYamimeaning who already skilled on photoshop, then Photoshop AI will help them to be more powerful them others
That's a creative way to get the famous Img2Img on photoshop

Love your videos. Is it possible to use Generative Fill to enhance a low resolution photo?
I'm interested in this too, wowee.
I know it's possible with stable diffusion and some funny business, but I don't have a PC capable of running it.
Once you save the ai image in Lightroom right click on the photo and click enhance then click super resolution.
Aap mahan hai❤
Unmesh, I think this can also be achieved via channels. Maybe you can show us how?
You can also just use the oil painting filter
What version of photoshop is needed for this?
You can just go "filter > watercolor" and it actually looks like the original
I can't help but wonder, which keyboard is that??
Hi sir.. ❤️ i have watch your videos regularly.
How to buy photoshop Beta version....?
Which program is he using ?
(Absolute beginner here so pardon the hella simplistic question)
adobe photoshop BETA
Okay I get what you did (Quick Mask, Grey Fill), but please could you maybe make a video on why and how and what exactly happened?

Dude photoshop has been going crazy lately
sir. show us the cons of thi Ai 😊
this is awesome, thanks. I just created a quick Action to do it in one click.
This is great but waaaaay to fast. Make it a minite long at least. Tx.
THe generative fill option isn’t in the tiny quick mask toolbar. I just downloaded desktop ps beta then restarted. 🧐
Amazing
Nice one! This tutorial can't get any more simplistic. Thank you sir 👍🔥💯
hi
thank you for your wonderful vids
btw how can i access generative fill?
How are you entering the commands
Jesus. Aron is from another world. I could not think of that.
Thats so handdyyy
Which version of photo shop is this
I will keep trying, it doesn't work on people and as far as my landscape that's a no go also😢
Just img2img of stable diffusion is enough
Agreed! Would loveeee to see a full video on this!
How does it do with more detailed photos?
Thanks thanks thanks!!! Saved my time.
and thats how you completely undermine actual skill and knowledge using bullcrap Ai
So using a bunch of filters in PS to achieve a similar effect is also bullcrap then? Either way, you did NOT paint it with a brush. Just saves time.
What version of Photoshop is this?
i have to watch this 7 times to follow it properly
I am on the twentieth
where i can see the generative option?
Do you need to pay for generative fill?
Which Photoshop version are using
for me when i press Q again it just nothing pop up
So I do everything but then do not get the prompt to click ok at the end. And my generative fill still doesn't do what it is supposed to. Any tips?
Bro please do more generative fill/AI content for photoshop 🙏
What version of Photoshop are you on? Is this possible with CS6?
Too difficult and time consuming… why doesn’t the “do this” thing just work? 😭
Amazing tips!
So why, when I press alt backspace, I get a flat grey
Oh my god this is insane! Thank youuuuu
but i wanted to see it oil painting style lol
Thats the comment I was searching 😅
But bro i don't have Photoshop beta and i can't afford cloud subscription 😭😭
any Photoshop right??
Not working for me. :(
