As a reader of your blog for several years now - since before the mountain house - I'm here to say I love the long form video content. It's no replacement for the details and links on your blog, but it really enhances the understanding of the space and, honestly, I just love seeing you on camera. As to this project overall I want to say how wonderful a job you and all of the professional partners you've hired have done. I'm from rural Michigan and this property could just as easily have been in my home county - although the sport court would have been a fallen down barn. As a home builder's daughter I perhaps had a better idea how much you were biting off when you took this on I am so glad you didn't back out mid-project and have the resources to put into it. I also appreciate your acknowledgement that this is a LOT to do. I've struggled with some of the other blogs I follow that make hundreds of thousands of dollars of investment look 'normal.' That said SO MANY of these ideas can be scaled down and replicated over years by others of more modest means who want to restore or create this look. Love this journey for the Henderson family and for all of us fans too.

So Good Emiy!!! I love the choice of plants surrounding the pool. All that Gaura makes it magical with the echinacea and small grasses. WOW! You will enjoy it for years to come. I want to see it next summer again to see how it is maturing. Welcome back to Oregon. I also live in SW Portland. I hope to bump into you someday in Multnomah Village. This video format works so well. Love it!

I love, love, the facade of the house. So designed and less happenstance. But, those walkways might be my favorite thing. Lucky family.

Just found your channel. Alpacas are so cute with their hair. Now you need Silkie Chickens to match. Martha Stewart made a video a while back about the Silkies and the eggs they lay.

So beautiful! I love how it all looks so natural and blends into its surroundings…the house and backyard are so cohesive and look like they were always meant to be that way! Well done 👏🏻

Wow. It's so ah-mazing and special. I love the light, wispy wildflowers in the background when you're talking. They're perfect and beautiful and natural, as is this video. Thank you for sharing. So nice to hear your gratitude as well. Hats off to ya and congrats for finishing!

Emily, your design has blown me away. The front porch is absolutely dreamy. The soake pool adds so much texture as a center piece for gathering. I adore the landscape. I see what i think is gaura in pink blowing whimsically. Jojo

Everything is beautiful and seems natural. Although the property is big, if feels cozy. Question: Since you say you'll be playing ball, swimming and tending to the alpacas everyday, not just on weekends, where does work and school factor in? Do you both work from home or is UA-cam work?
