It does seem quite strange that standardize test began in the early 1960s during the civil rights period which was pushing for social and educational integration.
Isn't it sad huh I'm about to send it to a lucky friend they try to discredit The Unlucky One created the world to their preference but they said don't exist
I'm not going back to separate water fountains and having to go to separate hospitals. People like you talk like this should talk to your elders and sit at their feet for a while.
Standardized tests in 1961 and 2021 are inherently biased. Many of the tests in 1961, and ensuing years, were the culprit in assigning students to “special education.” Today more and more universities are not requiring ACT and SAT scores as an admissions requirement because of the biased questions.
Where are all of these records for the Indian Boarding Schools? There is no way that these records do not exist somewhere as this vintage video confirms. This is a training video, for sure.
They got rid of the Civil Service Test because most surbananites could not pass the test to enter government jobs. This test was observed and difficult to cheat unlike schools . Where most of the answers were giving to most students prior to testing.
I am British I am shocked didn't their parents read to them. Mind you I was lucky I went to school At three a nd was able to read at 3 and half. I became an avid reader. Test prove nothing really, it just causes nerves and tension.
I am also British (born in 1975 in Scotland). I don' t remember my parents reading to me, although I'm sure my mum did - I certainly had board books and nursery tales. I didn't start school until aged four and a half though, and at that point I was the youngest in the class - some of the children would have been almost a year older. I think we did tests such as this in Primary 7. I guess that was to assess us before we started secondary school. For all that our secondary school was comprehensive, we were still 'streamed' from an early stage.
Standardized testing is a good thing. Otherwise, teachers would be able to pass and fail students arbitrarily. The naysayers should be more active in encouraging their children's education.
They are not perfect but they're a necessity. Otherwise, you get kids that are passed through and are illiterate at the end of high school. Still happens sadly but these tests help find kids that need extra help or are bored and need extra material.

I love these vintage educational videos. 👩🏻🏫💜📚
Yep, the background music was always funny to hear.
This channel never stops to amaze me. Simply the best
Basically, the standardization was arbitrary - get rid of the standardized tests 😒
Thank you for a very educational videos.
This is where the separation truly came in at. Black people, I wish we had the chance to go back to this battle... We should've never integrated.
Black peoples are and were just too loving we want to share everything with every un natural creature we come in contact with that is our down fall
I agree with you Queen zyonna x 100 percent.
@@queenzyonnax2296 you sound like a white nationalist.
I hear a lot of older blacks say that. However, it's too late. What's done is done. And the state of blacks is sad.

Yup
Big facts then NCLB
inherently biased how exactly?
And if a kid needs special education, why is this a bad thing?
Guess " Can't Judge A Book By It's Cover " appropriate for this exercise!?

I remember taking those kind of tests, but don’t remember any instructions given by the teacher.

Successfully ignoring the many and varied talents of at least 30% of the population for 60+ years.
The other 70% keep the infrastructure running.
Thank you
