White Knuckle Off Road Slider Install On The Power Wagon

- WooHoo! The Power Wagon finally gets some real rock sliders-you know, ones meant to bash on rock! Well, not always intentionally.
I show off the Amp Power Steps (find them here on amazon:amzn.to/2ksEqoA ) and although they work great, they won't do anything for me offroad when it comes to protecting the truck.
Take a look and see how they go on, and some initial thoughts!
Just got the White Knuckle Offorad sliders installed on my 2022 PowerWagon. The sliders even accommodate my Carli Radius Arms. I got the full top plate with anti-skid coating. They installed INCREDIBLY EASILY. Seriously. I got the thickest DOM steel unit as well. So worth the money.
Lame comment- what’s you rim/hub cover combo? I like the electric steps, but agree with sliders more. I’ve been using ospho before I prime and paint for rust.
Weld Racing-an older model called the "Renegade" It came with the caps/covers. I actually shot some stuff on the truck when I first got them, some how I don't know where that footage went lol. Gotta get something together since I get that question a lot.
So is it really worth the extra cash to get them powder coated since everyone ends up spray painting damage anyways?
Not in my book. If they won't be used as sliders as much, powder coat might be nice to have. But if you think they'll be scraped (your driving may vary) then spray paint is the way to go.
Superb video and appreciate your hard work.
Nice video, been thinking about buying those. What size tire you running? 35s?
yup, sort of. I think they come in right at 34.8 or something. 315/70/17, went with them because of the load rating.
Great video. Thanks for the info
Im thinking of getting these for my 2019 ram rebel. I have some for my jeep jk love them. The only thing I dont like about the truck ones is that slider doesn't stick out far enough to protect the truck from door things like the ones on my jeep. I may be wrong?
Did you just rattle can them and call it good? Getting some soon for mine and deciding on powder coat or not.
Yup, just spray paint. Easy to touch up, lasts quite a while (I've only touched up a few spots twice now), is cheaper, and I'm not sad if it gets scratched!
Not sure why the Randy Ellis sliders aren't getting attention.
I found out about those shortly after/right around the time I picked up these. White Knuckle is local to me however.
The Randy Ellis connect to the rocker panel and not everyone is sold on that being the best way for suck a heavy truck. Also requires drilling into your rocker panels and it is usually best to avoid piercing the finished sheet metal on your vehicle as much as possible for corrosion resistance. I prefer the idea of bolt-on to the frame in this case but to each their own.
I would of rattle can’ed them with a bed liner , that would give you grip and looks good plus would help with chipping ! I have a pw to and made my own bed rack that I can use my tunel cover. I’ll be posting the make later. Good vid !!
I'm surprised the spray paint has held up as well as it has, and I added some grip tape to the top. Bedliner would be good too, although the undersides of the slider might "stick" to rocks better (or worse?). I haven't seen anyone with issues though.
Charles Pages if it works why fix it ? Good to hear that the paint is holding up I know this ca sun eats up everything !
Dezert Armor makes frame mounted steps (Arizona) not a slider but built strong.
Yeah, there are a few nice options out there. All depends how you might use the truck!
How do you like your tires? Pros Cons?
Thanks Charles. Have you considered getting the sliders rhino lined? That would provide a durable, non-slip surface. Also, how big of a lift are you running?
yeah, actually I heavily considered the rhino lining. I've got the grip tape on now with success (knock on wood) but if I ever get around to rhino lining the bumpers, I'll probably do the sliders too. No lift right now!
How did the white Knuckle Sliders effect mileage?
Nothing noticeable, but adding weight can't help.
Great video!
Love the video. Any updates?
yeah, a handful lol. Got some stuff in the pipeline video wise. Mostly camping things/rack for the back.
Charles Pages that's what's up. Thanks
What size tires do you have? Look like 37 or 38's?
35! I've got a video that I need to edit together with new wheels/tire info.
@@chazpages Huh could have sworn they looked bigger lol. Well I like the truck, I am looking to get a 2019 Power Wagon and want to do a lot with it. Once of my first mods will be rock sliders for sure and I like these. Those trucks are just too heavy for body mounted.
where did you get those used rock sliders?
Locally-I was able to pick up in person. Haven't seen many used ones for sale though.
@@chazpages Well...let me know if you see one pair. Thanks
Need to find a used pair lol
