Pretty good argument but it doesn't apply in A LOT of places in the World. After 10 mins Marwa just pretty much let her talk. Westerners (especially Americans) think everywhere should be the same and MOST haven't been anywhere outside of the country or the "West" She tried to group it all together by saying it "Human perspective" Typical implication that Non-Western people are less than and the women are somehow forced or just ignorant and brain washed.

There are two things that would silence Marwa's argument on Polygamy. Money and the neglect of children. Being a father is not a part-time job but rather a full-time.
The reality is that the children will be neglected. Not everyone is in a position to take care of 3 families financially. The fact that Marwa is a traveller who vlogs will surely not avoid neglecting his children (since they have to attend school), as well as being frugal is not really going to help.

And Marwa was not born in 1667 when the priest Giovani de Montecuccolo was mentioning that practice that they were trying so hard to abolish and replace by Monogamy through the violent introduction of christianity. Marwa is capping, polygamy in my country (Zambia) and in Kenya is shunned upon. Whether in the African tradition or Muslim faith. I hope he doesn't give the picture that we Africans want multiple wives. Heck, one wife is a handful, two or more "wives" would be a nightmare. Great content fam!

Great watch and Lauren was very well articulated here. I think its not all passport bros that are demonized as a whole its moreso just the ones with bad intentions that specifically go to prey on vulnerable people in other countries where the leverage is either financial or leveraging a green card and stuff. Basically the same way sugar daddies and sugar mommies behave. So Lauren was spot on that when its consenting adults its no one's business. People do however have a right to call it out when they see it being more predatory. And so for that part it then varies from situation to situation coz you'll find both good and bad passport bros coz for the ones not being scumbags they are just genuinely traveling the world and making harmless connections

to me i have grown in a polygamous family and i would not advise because there is usually a hatred between the families , we may not express it but deep down there is that hatred. I think the best person to answer that is the one who grew in that family just like @Congrats mum

    • @pantinchelles6161

Hate is everyhere even in monogamous relationships. Grown people who freely and fully CONSENT to live in a polygamous relationship or married are FREE to live their lives they want they want.

Intelligent and interesting discussion from Ivan and Lauren. I have subscribed to you both. I wonder what woman will enjoy a nomadic husband with wives all over the world. How will he cater for his wives and childrens needs? I am an African living in UK and I do not support his idea of wanting multiple wives from different races and nations. If he wants his polygamy to work, he should stay in his mansion with his Kenyan wives. The women there will understand his concept.

Ask Marwa how if he would accept having his mother and sisters be each involved in separate polygamous marriages. Why isn't his Dad a polygamist? Also, his grandfather has five wives and 20 children. None seem to be around to help him at this time in his life. Wonder why? Could it be that grandfather failed to meet their needs???

Fascinating and engaging conversation. All in all, we need to have a sense of contentment. It is not by having 4 or 5 women, the same factor that makes you unsatisfied with a woman will still make you not be satisfied with multiple women. The change we want must start from within, and you cannot expect to change your world while you remain the same.

Marwa. You are only thinking about yourself. I think it is a matter of selfishness. Do you have an idea how this will affect the children? You cannot be really there for them when you have to be in three homes. You are not even thinking about how this will affect the women having to share you. When last did you go to church, Marwa? If your Grandfather was like that, what were the advantages for the women and children? How sucessful were they in life. You are not looking for African women who might be used to this, but you want a foreigner to believe this crap and be with you. I see disaster from the start. Can you really afford to support 10 kids properly?

His very elderly grand father can not even look after himself, let alone those poor young children and their mothers! It is total abuse and child neglect! An issue for social services to deal with, if it was taking place in the West.

The challenge with polygamy in the modern world is economics, in the past people lived off the land, having multiple wives and several children worked to one's advantage, the children and wives played a major role in taking care of animals and property on the land. Today life has evolved, the financial challenge of having to be responsible for multiple wives and several children can create an unhealthy living environment, which is why modern day polygamy in Africa often ends in financial ruin and despair. Something Africans need to learn from the west is wealth creation, we are no longer living off the land, its difficult to create wealth having to take care of multiple wives and several children, in-fact having fewer children is important in the modern world because it creates time and space to groom children to take over or build their own wealth.
