Boomer, are you kidding? This was a fantastic interview with someone who tells it like it is!
As you know, Boomer, Geno lost his mother only a short time ago (2023) and between all the player injuries, Chris' fainting spell and his personal hardship, he has been quoted as saying this has been his most trying year since he began coaching at UCONN. The team just loaded up the HUSKIES BUS and they were on their way to the airport headed to Seattle to continue their mission to win another National Championship. Because of all the adversity this season has had (starting off with Paige's year ending injury in the offseason), diehard UCONN fans have fallen in love with this team because of their determination to never give up. Note: They actually had to postpone one game during the season because they didn't have enough players to suit up for the game! But, one by one, except for Paige and a star freshman player, Ice, the team became whole and the excitement they have created for their fans has been off the charts! Even without Paige running the show on the court the team has excelled and I'll tell you what, if UCONN was next on my team's schedule I would be very worried. Btw, Paige has been with the team throughout the season and is rooting for them on the bench (and sneaking in some pointers to her teammates when Geno wasn't looking!) An example of how much the players love each other, part of their desire to win a National Championship is to share their glory with Paige because of what an outstanding person she is and she has never felt sorry for herself and is all in supporting the team and it's efforts.
Boomer, this was great timing bringing this interview back on you tube. Geno is a beautiful man. He gets angry, he loves his players, he's sensitive, he's funny, sarcastic 🙂, and generally a guy you would love to call your friend. Thanks, Boomer.

Very well said. I have looked up to Geno since I was a little kid. People don't talk about how strong of a character and huge heart he has.

I like him Because he gave women a stage, help create Wnba, open a market, a platform. If not for women I would'n be here.

Geno and Pat Summit. They are to women's basketball what Magic and Larry were to men's basketball

I'd like to see all the players dress up as Super Marios and play that foolish music. do da doop da doop. Then see Geno's reaction.

UCONN has been to 14 straight Final Fours. How many other women's teams have been to 4 in a row ? I can't think of one.
UCONN has won 11 NCAA National Championships. Other than Pat Summit. What other team has won more than 3. I can't think of one.
      GROW UP.

Actually, it's not too long. 5 years (2020 no tournament). It took Tara 30 years to win her most recent one. Staley 5 years between her 2, after coaching since 2008, that's 14 yrs. Kim Mulkey Baylor for 21yrs with 3. It's not easy. But if you're good it looks easy.
