Today we will be stealth camping in Cookstown, Ontario, Canada at a dead end of a street. We will do a small tour of the town after trying to find groceries in 3 different towns. I end up finding a Walmart in Alliston and buy a can of Spam and Tim Hortons Chili.

I miss the days of you going to a fast food restaurant and reviewing a new item. Looked back at old videos and was shocked how long it’s been since you’ve done one of those. That’s what got me through the pandemic!
That's what made me follow Ken was the food reviews, now I follow JustFoodReviews for that. This was some pretty low content and that spam and chilli looked horrible.
I just watched 40 mins of a man eating spam, drinking black coffee, and talking about the quality of his clip on fan….what happened?

That was a tough video to watch. Let’s get back to some classic food reviews with the rating scale for a change.
What’s the point of parking at a dead end when you’re still sleeping in an orientation where your head faces the street side (and not the field)? You negate any safety that the dead end provides. If a drunk came barreling down the street late at night and didn’t realize (until too late) that it was a dead end, you’d be toast.
"weird and crazy" food videos are not interesting especially when you act like it's the best meal ever... you are not a food challenge channel... you're not Matt Stonie, you're supposed to eat tasty junk food and make us want to crave them... nothing interesting about a 60 years old man cooking dog food in a can next to a cemetary and building an entire "vlog" around "Spam" and nuts (nuts are not ineresting to look at and all taste the same). Which you already done that in your 3 parts dollar store videos 2 months ago and it was bad then too. Like... how do you walk into walmart or a grocery store with nice junk juicy food to eat everywhere and you're like "I WANT SPAM!" I'd pay to know the answer... unlike others I enjoy the stealth camps because they are longer, don't know what to expect and it's not the same 200 fast food burger joint videos with a slight variations like bacon or tomatoes and oh la la catchphrases... but this is just... bad.

Sometimes it is more fun to just go out to an area not knowing anything it makes things more interesting and a lot more adventurous. It's like a suspense in a movie you don't want to know in advance what the ending is or in this case what the area offers in advance. It would ruin the fun of not knowing.

Every place in Canada seems depressing.. No wonder why there are so many Canadian youtubers.. Theres nothing to do in that country so you end up filming yourself..
To be fair, you can make anywhere look dull if you have lacklustre narration, a lack of culinary taste, mediocre camerawork and a repetitive style. Vancouver is regularly ranked in the top 5 most livable cities on the planet and Toronto regularly stands in for Manhattan in movies and TV shows - it’s far from a dull or depressing city. But yes - like every other country (UK and large parts of the USA and Australia included), its rural areas are - as you would expect - far poorer and lacking in terms of development and excitement; two reasons why the people who choose rural living love it so much I guess. :)
To be fair I love Canada. That's just your point of view cause you probably haven't been here. The people are nice. The nature is where it's at. Northern Ontario is beautiful.

A couple of years ago, my wife and I were camped in a Cracker Barrel for the night. A young single woman camped there too. She is a full time van lifer for several years . She told us one of the best places to overnight, especially in the city, is cemeteries. She said it's quiet, no traffic and no one bothers you. We haven't tried it but I guess it makes sense

Wow, In all my 5 years of watching KBD- this takes the cake. A elderly man eating dog food in in near 15 year old minivan at a dead end sign. How does ken think this end content? Spam and chili is for sure a bachelor guy meal. Despite how bad that is for you I'd try a cup of it 😁.
I always keep my chocolat bars in my refrigerator so it doesn't melt. Also cold chocolat is really good
You might try cooking Spam with canola oil or another oil that can withstand a higher temp. Also, buy a can of plain beans and add your own spices, etc. to reduce the sodium and fat. I know you're following a specific diet, but man that sodium and fat will clog your arteries and bust your heart!

looking for places to hide in dead ends or suburb streets will get the laws attention .... any store ,fuel station, or a hotel even don't mind if we park in their parking lots , most will agree with their permission. i drive truck ,and the master plan is always looking for a spot to hunker down for the night ! hope it helps ?!
I don’t like spam. The taste is not that bad but the texture is terrible. There is no saving it however you cook it.

you probably tried it once and dismissed it, Spam can be used a ton of ways. also Frying it can help with the texture.
My hometown back in England is a Roman town - settled over 2000 years ago. Plenty of Roman era architecture and mosaics being dug up all the time whenever anyone needs to excavate their garden to repair drains etc. My new hometown (near Vancouver) is less than 1/10th that age (it has no aside First Nations settlements within the town itself). Really makes you appreciate the age and heritage of Europe whilst also appreciating the speed at which European settlers built their towns and cities over in Canada.
Ken, suggesting the low sodium SPAM for you. It has a great taste and is not salty on it's own. Try making fried rice, tacos, omelets, sandwiches. All good. Loved the footage on this sweet town, so historic and well done. I'm aways watching. Karla in Cali.

Have you thought about using an induction cooktop? They heat really fast and you won't get severely burned if you touch them.

Regular Spam all the way, you cut the salt or the fat and you mess up the balance. i get people want to watch their health, but there are some things you cant deviate from, like using a lot of Butter making Grilled Cheese.

Enjoyed the video Ken. Just curious why you didn't turn the van around before parking for the night? Always thought it was best to leave yourself an easy out in case something ever happened you'd be able to leave quickly, not have to bother trying to turn around. I've noticed this a few other times as well

Tim Hortons chili must be the same as Wendy’s chili, since Wendy’s owns Timmy’s and they seem to have hit grocery stores at the same time. The Wendy’s chili is ridiculous, almost $5 for a small can and about 3x the price of a comparable store brand chili.

They have a great panzerotti and other little things, Bewdley Pizza, best garlic bread and cheese and a couple of other little restaurants in town to very famous restaurant around Bewley area and if you’re camping, you could go to Golden Beach and they have a restaurant there as well and I live around the corner and maybe we can meet up.
