We just had two players make it down for Wednesday Night Legacy from NH. One was on Burn and the other built a Dark Ritual combo. Perfect timing for a new look on Burn.
Thanks for the shout out. :) I 100% agree with your assessment regarding 4 Barbarian Rings, definitely felt like a problem and not what I would have played if building the deck for myself. Final game was wild here, although I hate the creative technique deck, it isn't really magic, just self-working nonsense :P Looking forward to seeing your monoblue belcher with Mind's Desire in the near future ;)
Ive been playing around with Questing Druid in burn and its been quite effective. Havent really settled on a final list yet. Ixalan has some fun new adds too.
@TonyScapone Yea it was fun and fiddly out of league play but falls apart against real players with real decks. I've been goofing around with an OOPs deck with beseeches added just to churn through some fast leagues and get more exposure to opponents. Probably will switch to lands soon and start grinding away on not being terrible with that. I have a pretty extensive mtgo card library but I still need Santa to drop some one rings off at my house before I trial your PO deck Tony. Looks like a thrill to play.
Pyroblast is pretty poor imo. What are you pyroblasting? Pyroblasting FoW is same as just having another bolt instead except youre topdecking bolts instead of pyroblasts...it hits murktide i guess...competitive deck theory in burn has long since omitted pyroblast and for good reason imo.
@@TonyScapone See, this is the problem of the linear thinking with Burn players and why the deck IS Tier 1, if you build and play it right >>> After burn or mono black, 75+% of decks have blue cards. Blue cards F red cards. Unless you have a 1 mana instant that kills or counters all blue cards. I wonder what that is? Yes, its for murktide, or yes, counter their counter spell that they never expected you to counter and win the game or otherwise make an exceptional play. Not like a murktide typically doesnt mean scoop to a burn player cause they have zero answers for it. There are plenty of scenarios where pyroblast is a game winner over just another bolt >>> IF i wanted to build a deck that was "just another bolt" deck you can literally make a deck of no creatures and actually cheap effective burn spells. You can splash black and play cheap black damage spells like bump too. Works great in the right build, graping delver. Or, it can get smoshed with the wrong cards. And thats the problem, the deck doesnt work without other cards to back up those burn spells. WHich again, gets back to the problem of the linear thinking burn player just wanting to have a deck of 40 lightning bolts. Yeah me too, but it just doesn't work in practice. There's a reason delver maindecks pyroblast >>> because it fucking rocks maindeck ^_^ You're not always trying to just burn the other player out. You are actually, in fact, playing MAGIC, a game of strategy and thought, not checkers. Burn players need to stop thinking they are playing checkers and play Magic.
This is a joke, right? Comparing burn to delver with regards to MD blast is apples to oranges. Delver has card selection and can either ponder or brainstorm away a blast in a bad matchup. What the flying fuck is a pyroblast going to do against red prison, reanimator, DnT, depths, lands, or any of the wide swath of decks where there’s no blue card to counter or destroy
@@donaldtaylor724 It gets sb'ed out game 2. >> You're overthinking, and forgetting that most decks have blue cards statistically. Look, they play pyroblast because its a 1 mana stop most cards played in the format.
This isn't really a super new list to me >>> Burn's ONLY problem is the need to draw more cards and out run decks like delver which can draw extra cards almost every turn. Light up the stage is key here, and removing 4 caca baubles for 4 light ups is much better. Eidolon has always been an iffy card, killing you more often than saving you or actually doing anything. Splashing other colors can sometimes be interesting >>>> particularly black splash.... USE the best cards other decks use >> like Bowmasters, or some other tricksy spells lol Which is why I didn't ever get why burn wouldn't run channelers forever and now its like OH YEAH not like my whole deck is instants and sorcs derr >>> my pre ragavan bans using channelers and monkeys in burn were very, very fun for a few months..
That's NOT the only problem or even the biggest problem. Combo decks are the biggest problem. I think Light up the Stage is a step too far but I could be wrong. Delver doesn't draw extra cards any more.
@@TonyScapone combo is what the sideboard is for >> where things like eidolon/the other one lol i cant remember, or leyline, come into play. Also pyroblast. And smash. Combo isnt the biggest problem with delver wins against most decks over 50% of the time and most decks you'll play against are some kind of delver a lot of times. Also theres a big difference between a combo deck and a tony scapone combo deck where you dont even get like 2 turns to play anything regardless and most people arent sophisticated enough to play storm like you do >> otherwise I think everyone would be dominating tourneys with a cheap under 1k or 500 dollar ruby storm decks lol

Niice!! I find the deck to be therapeutic. Always love me some Burn ❤️🔥❤️🔥
I always play a 1 of ball lighting in burn. Not because its good, but because it sends a message 👹
I love it, me too! I used to back in 2007-08. I'd yell BALL LIGHTNING and slam it on the table!🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for the shout out. :)

I did a video with bosh that should be out Monday. Not a great result but it was fun! No belcher just Yorion Paradoxical Desire😏
And you're welcome! Good content🫡
Sweet games! The last one was just hilarious 😂 When are you gonna upload some BSS action? Greetings from Spain! 💪🏻🇪🇦
So close!! Oh, soon enough. So little so, so much recording / editing to do! Greetings!❤️

Powerful card but i have my doubts for burn.

@AArdW01f Jewel is even hotter! But need Transmute Artifacts and 4x City too :X

Oh hell yea🔥🔥🔥
I can't believe that forge combo player fizzled in game 3
I'm familiar with the feeling😆😱
Matches 1 and 5 were cuckoo banana balls.
Lolol yes they were!🔥
I saw your match from Bryant cook's POV and he was very disappointed in you for not playing mind's desire
Lol i know. I was in the middle of that league when they announced it. I made my Desire video immediately after that league in the same sitting.
Also pyroblast maindeck needs to be a staple. Like WTF burn even delver maindecks it!!!!
