I was thinking of buying this but changed my mind as I couldn't find ONE video covering maintenance. I live remotely and the last thing I need is towing this for miles to get it serviced. I liked the compact design but have decided to get a DELEKS as EVERYTHING is explained and I know I can maintain the machine myself. Pity really but taking comfort in that the model I'm buying has a Honda motor!
The service is straight forward tbh, they aren't a bad little machine, although mine has hardly been used, its about 3 - 4 years old, garaged all its life with a motorcycle cover over it and it has only had approx. 20 hrs. use x 6 times use in total since brand new, still a new machine in theory, I started it up & serviced it a few months ago, changed the blades around as you can turn them around, the problem I have is loading and unloading it in my van or trailer on my own, it weighs just over quarter of a ton, then a LWB van with a trailer which is a pain around the local streets, hence it doesn't get used much, I am looking on getting a winch installed in my van, so I can use it more, but that comes at a price as well 😞 then I need new flooring in my van first, as the flooring is worn away, right where I want to put the winch 😞
Only problem with a ton bag is dragging it about unless you only quarter fill it and trying to keep them open even with road pins.Get a couple of wheelie bins and chip into that into those
Hi Dave, that's what I do now, I learnt the hard way! I hardly use it tbh, when I do, it,s good ££££,sss, and quite often, a skip is hired in, which makes life a whole lot easier, :-)
I don't personally know much about the Yard Beast, I do know the Jansen is one of the best out there against the equivalent competitors spec etc, 3 months of research I carried out b4 my purchase, I spent many years in the plant & tool hire industry, The discharge chute can get clogged, same as others really, you get the feel when using it how much to put through at a time etc, I have just fully serviced mine 2 weeks ago, changed blades around etc, I was on the verge of selling mine as i hardly use it tbh, approx 15 -20 hrs use since new, its a heavy lump to load and unload in the van or my trailer on your own, if you, you tube the model GTS1500E and look at the tree surgeon lads, they have modified there's
i use fencing pins /road pins to hold the bags open .You know the steel ones 4ft long with a hook on the end .works a treat .Chipper seems to work well are you pleased with it ? thanks for posting.
Hi Mate, Exactly what I am after & been looking for, but can't find them, Overall the machine is brilliant, I might cut a couple of more inches out of the discharge chute at the top as it sometimes gets jammed up, I used it solid for 4 hours last week and it just demolished a huge pile of trees,
They sell them at Toolstation and Screwfix about £30 for 10 cheaper on eBay just type in fencing pins .they hold the bag open great .have you tried wheelie bins . they are great and no need to lift with the wheels .try either depending on job site.is the loncin engine good ....I have a loncin on a generator.starts really well. Is your chipper new or used ?
