    Well the guy does a very good job. Too bad there are haters they don’t realize you can get 4 times the amount of tree debris in the truck when its chipped up. You did a great job !

    I acquired one of these fine Jansen machines a month ago due to seeing this video and had it's first real test today on a load of conifer-shrubs -pyracantha -roses-hydrangea ect .I could not believe how this machine eats everything that you put in it .I sat there looking at what I just chipped up 1/2 hr later and thought well christ that didn't take @t easy to move about on the flat on your own, but probably need two of you up onto a truck up ramps(Be nice for a tracked version ), but I could struggle on my own if I had too get it up ramps .Keep the blades sharp and a tight gap between anvil and blade when servicing which is so easy to do anyway .It's a machine in a class of it's own and worth every penny

    Runs well and chews up the horrible conifer brash with ease. Most little ones get clogged with that

    Would it be possible to get a chipper like this up on the back of a truck using Ramps or is it too heavy? I was thinking if it was too heavy you could install a winch in the truck as trailered chippers cost thousands more

    I'm wondering why drum style chippers have fallen out of favor in the USA. They look so productive.

    • @NigelFairhurst
      @NigelFairhurst 5 років тому +1

      What type do USA use now?

    • @vclubamp
      @vclubamp 5 років тому +2

      Seems like 99% of the market here is flywheel type chippers, which seem to me to be slower and require more power to run. I saw an interesting one at the farm machinery show today made by Befco that was an interesting drum type setup. It required 30 HP minimum and would chip 6 inch/150 mm wood, but it was mechanical feed and over double the cost of similar size units I have seen.

    • @NigelFairhurst
      @NigelFairhurst 5 років тому +3

      @@vclubampThanks - I think I will go for a drum type as they help pull the material in and can be purchased relatively cheap in the UK like this Jansen

      You need more power to run the drum style. It’s always about cost.

      Tossing whole branches into the truck occupies a lot of air space. Shredding compresses that air space to almost nothing.

      how much is an 18" chipper ?? these chippers are great cost on or just under 2 thousand quid they can go through gates down alleys and even through customers houses if needed its only the brash that needs chipping anything under 4" and more people are keeping the chips as weed suppressant .......whats the point over here people are crying out for firewood we can easily get people to take fire wood and all you have to do is cut it with a saw nice to have a big chipper i agree ,Don't know what its like in Oz but over here they are always getting nicked and they are expensive to maintain ,and hard to store .
