Wow...great job on the build...it turned out really nice...Thanks for sharing
Terrific job. Excellent paint finish and weathering.
Such an excellent lesson!!! Thank you so much for sharing with us beginners. Cheers!
Everyone was once a beginner ;)
Superb work. Thanks for sharing
On the real ones, you got it. A lot of model builders over emphasize the rivets and panel lines but in real life and in sunlight, they are smooth and you don't see the panel lines if you are like 30 meters away.
Scale modeling is always "making an impression" of a real airplane. A 100% real scale model would have been boring.
Beautiful finish. Love your vids mate
Very fine job, you are an excellent scale model builder!
OTB is O.K. for demo but I tend to sand the control surfaces on aircraft for realism and also reduce the panel line depth ( the so-called panel line is actually overlapping sheets of metal, I am experimenting on how to replicate scale overlapping metal), as well as study WW2 kodachrome photos for detail, finally, to get a clean sharp edge masking clear parts, forget the tape (removing tape tends to tear the paint) and use Bare Metal Foil.
Most beautiful model of this plane. You make me to love 1/72 scale. I have my 1/48 B 17 but I can't compare.
It has to be huge in 1/48. I try to make only bombers and other big planes in 1/72 scale.
Looks beautiful, nice work. Great idea being able to remove the clear parts to install the guns. Thanks, for your great videos!
Thanks :) I would have broken those guns for sure, gluing those parts with white glue helped a lot.
( Good evening. Congratulations on the ending! I really enjoyed watching the building. Excellent model turned out. )
Thanks :)
Thank you for an excellent series again!
It was a pleasure :)
Thanks for sharing this wonderful job, videos like this made me return to the hobby after 35 years, greetings from Venezuela
One more modeller in Venezuela, I finally did something useful ;)
Brilliant, relaxing, Fabulous Surf Music, and a wonderful end product!
Nice Job Sir!
Thanks :)
This is a model to be proud of! Nice work!
There was a lot of work, but it was worth all the effort :).
Looking like a show winner.
Fantastic result there stunning kit ☺🍺🍻👍
I love this video so much! The B-17 is amazing
Thanks :)
Sometimes I'm sad the work on this model is over ;).
That beast is finaly finished
I hope you will continue on your way of series
This is superb
See you on your next video
I will not stop, don't worry ;)
Outstanding build, friend! Beautiful!
Thanks :)
Amazing technique perfectly shawned, explained and filmed.... may be the best there .....
Thanks :)
Love these videos! Your attention to detail and skill are astounding. A true craftsman. 👍
Thanks, you've just given me lots of motivation :).
Big Modeller no problem. You've motivated me to start making models again after 30 years!
Great work !
Thanks mate :)
Fantastic result Sir!
Thanks :)
Excellent series, I’ve learnt lots from it for my return since impatient youth. Only thing is that I needed a strong coffee with each clip. The music along with the skills on show was sending me sleepy. Had to keep rewinding. Please do many more.👍👍
Sorry to hear those movies are boring ;)
@@Big-Modeller sorry if you mistook my words as criticism. It is my advancing years along with the music and definitely not the skill activities that lead to dozing. All respect to you. 😕😉👍🤗
I know, mate ;)
I realise this kind of music is not the most dynamic one, but somehow it fits (in my opinion).
Thank you for going to the time and trouble to share this build. I've very much enjoyed watching it and it will be invaluable when I start my B17. Looking forward to your next project; what will it be? Best wishes, Matthew
I'm glad you've enjoyed watching this series :) That's the main goal of those movies - to help people who will be bulding those models to avoid my mistakes ;)
As for the next project... I recently started the "PZL-23 Karaś" series, now I would like to finish some of my older builds before starting a new one. But who knows, I may as well start six new ones instead ;).
Whatever it is I will follow with interest; good luck!
Piękne wykonanie, cieszy oko :)
Dzięki :)
Nice work on your B-17G.
Thanks :)
Świetna robota
Dzięki :)
Jest wspaniały. Choć ja bym dodał linkę anteny jeszcze - do tego polecam Rigging MIGa - bardzo dobry do takich celów. ;) I podziwiam za opanowanie w używaniu kleju Tamiyi do elementów przezroczystych. ;)
To opanowanie to wynik dziesiątków przeprowadzonych testów ;)
Kupię tą nić, o której wspomniałeś i zamontuję ją, no ale to kiedy indziej.
Pozdrawiam :)
JedenSiedemDwa rigging miga świetny. Dodałem między innymi do mojego Avengera
Awesome job masking and painting clear parts. What kind of temporary glue did you use?
It's just a white glue (the one for gluing paper and wood).
I have a Tamiya 1/48 scale dambuster Lancaster that I haven't even started yet. I would like to see you build one of them. my kit can also make a grand slam bomber but Tamiya also do a seperate regular B1/111 Lancaster at the same price.
I like bombers a lot, so it's possible that I'll make one in 1/48 after finishing most of my current projects. But it won't be a Lancaster ;)
Just finished mine 👍
Great feeling, right? ;)
Yes mate definitely do another one

Others Iv done in the past
Wow, this B-17 is your first airplane?
Airplanes are way better than cars (since cars don't fly ;))
Very nice series and well worth the time spent - the finished article is fantastic! When you paint the clear parts, is there a primer or coat of Future prior to the alclad silver?
No, I've used only Alclads on the clear parts. They grip the surface quite well.
Great - thanks for coming back to me... did you future coat them after alclad paint?
I wanted this plane to be as shiny as possible, so I've used a proper gloss varnish on the surface - Humbrol Clear.
Big Modeller - perfect - thanks very much again. I’m just starting my B17 now... 🙈
Good luck then :)
What brand of glue were you using for the canopy windows? Amazing work.
It's Tamiya Extra Thin Cement.
Thank you for the reply.
Hi I have a question could you please answer. How long and wide is it cause it wold be really helpful also it looks dope
The dimensions are: 320mm x 438mm
@@Big-Modeller thank you so much your the best
What us the total build time? Also, a superb build to an amazing quality!!!
Thanks :) It took me about 9 month to build this plane, but it wasn't the only model I've been making then. And I wasn't working on it everyday ;).
i cant get the top turret to stay in place on mine. i dont want to glue it, but it just falls out if i were to turn the plane upside down. what do i do
I don't know how to help, mate. I've made my model about 3 years ago, I don't remember it that good.
Universal advice - just try to check out the instructions step by step and figure out which part you didn't glue ;).
@@Big-Modeller alright. but just to confirm, does it sit loose on your build or is there a way that locks it in place, that i just need to figure out
You mean the one I attached in 6:55? The bottom part of the turret (H25) got into a hole in the cockpit floor. I didn't glue it, it moves around, but stays in place rather firmly.
Big Modeller huh. I think mine has a bad molding then. I figured that the hole had something to do with it. I can probably fix it with some plastic sheet and sand paper. Thanks for the help
I'm always here to help :)
🤗👏👏👏👏👏🙂
:D
A little bit of super glue on the thumbnails? That stuff can burn.
Zrobisz me 262 revell a?
A model is never finished
True. But there comes a moment when you have to let it go and move on to the new project ;).
