I liked this one too. It would have been nice if he brought his friend with him. I don't know if he went back to before his friend was wrongly convicted but by trading places with the true mur*erer shouldn't that mean the old man was never sent to jail?
At the end, Micky O' Shaughnessy mentioned Gershwin, (George Gershwin) who only lived to 38, was a popular music composer whose song,"Someone to Watch Over You," Ricky is played to bring him back the Shamrock Club. Fun fact: The song Ricky played was composed in 1926, not '28. S'Wonderful was composed in 1927. Beautifully written and historically accurate TWZ episode and one og the first I remember from the overlooked series remake.
Why have I never seen this before? Great story. Found by accident, only because Joe Penny was in the thumbnail pic. Rod Serling would've enjoyed this think. Imaginative & best of all...the ending was ironic & just perfect.(wonder if that really was Joe Penny at the piano.)
Now that's a Twilight Zone. Doesn't compare to the original series but sure beats every friggin episode of that new garbage reboot they call The Twilight Zone.
He's fine? with absolutely no money, no friends from that era, no identification? no nothing? about to enter WW2? Sorry but this seems like a bad ending rather than a happy one. And also a little sloppoily written, it would have been cool to see how the other guy got on in the joint
He’ll make money as a professional pianist; you can make friends anytime, anywhere (if you’ve ever moved, you know this). Identification? Many people still didn’t drive (so no driver’s license,) and the social security program didn’t exist yet. Heck, back then my grandfather didn’t have a birth certificate and no one cared.
This is one of my favorite newer twilight zone episodes
Joe Penny is gorgeous. I saw him once at a diner in the valley!
I would love to have a full-length recording. Of “‘SWonderful” as played by the character of Mickey Shanessey!
shaughnessy* but agreed even if someone else did the playing
Fantastic creative story!! Joe Penny was terrific! Much Thanks!!
Thank you for posting. Amazing episode
Love Joe Penny...I would love to go back to the 80s and stay there!❤
I love happy endings, plus he's now free and he'll get to relive the 80's in a few decades
He will be an old man.
In that case, let's just imagine she let him move in and the depression didn't affect them
I liked this one too. It would have been nice if he brought his friend with him.

Joe penny was a darling 🥰❤️❤️
yes, sure, i feel his gentleness.
This is the most adorable version of prison I’ve ever seen.
this version of maple leaf rag at the start is very pleasing to my ears. slowly, with that echo. i really enjoy that echo.
Troy Wright that’s a beauty of old pianos, they don’t make em like that anymore...
This is why I love 80s and 90s compared to now days
yes ! me too !
A personal fav of mine - thank you
I love how penny in this episode

If I was him I wouldn’t touch a piano the rest of my life.
Gosh, Joe is such a dish......

nope, neither played it, you can tell because you can see the hands and the character/actor from the chest up but never the actor playing
I wish Mr. Roper could've gotten free as well.
Don't worry now that he's with Mickey with him he'll happy for the rest of his sentence
Best twilight zone ever
It's a good episode. Best ever? 🤣🤣 IDTS. The originals were the best ever.
Rizz72 if you think he’s an idiot for having a different opinion than you... he’s not the one not using his brain and heart (:
7:54, is that swearing in a twilight zone episode?
It's t like the episode a stop at Willoughby, but with a piano, instead of a train. In the end, they get off the train, and the piano!
Good comment
anytime!
Fckn AMAZING!!!!!!!
good
shame the full 45 min episode isn't here
Now that's a Twilight Zone. Doesn't compare to the original series but sure beats every friggin episode of that new garbage reboot they call The Twilight Zone.
I liked some 00s episodes, haven’t seen the newest series though
@@Cassxowary Don't bother. It's total garbage. Only one decent episode in the second season.
Frost did commit that murder. He's going to kill Mickey's girlfriend now for what she did to Eddie.
thx, where are you?
thx

i suppoer there is that.....
Maybe you would like to stay in prison, but he is free with a fine looking dime

It's called magical realism. You're suppose to suspend belief from reality.
Troy Wright world war two, that was still 10 years away, you mean the great depression, the following year...
anybody knows what s thé music at thé begining when Joe penny play piano with à closed eyes
nevada Alexander it is a five
star question..
I recognize maple leaf rag by Scott Joplin, but I don't think that was the one you're talking about.
I am frustrated
me too
They got the ww1 uniforms right .
i like this most
You have internet in your lost&found emporium? :p
Guys would i be correct in saying that this (my all time fave episode) was inspired by the classic Stop at Willoughby?
apparently not, it was done elsewhere too (someone I know called it willy b-esque)
Anatole
Not even close to one of the best esipsodes 🌽 took to long for the plot to unfold
This is my favorite episode
thx
does anyone know the name of the song that the prisoner pretends to play please I really need to know the name of that song.
@@stefaniamuller4919 I really would like to know it too. Does anybody know it and can tell us, please?
