as someone who has been a professional metalsmith/jeweler for the last 7 years.... this is my dream pack! The sims team missed no details with this one, the animation, cost of things, even the smallest details on the bench, THE TORCH. They had to have someone from the industry work with them on this. I giggled so many times at Kayla's comments, she doesn't even know how relatable they are, especially if you are just starting out in the industry.
I'm so glad you mentioned this! I've noticed the level of detail in a few other packs, and it just warms my heart knowing that took the time to at least consult with professionals to get the details right. It makes a world of difference 🥺🥺
this makes me happy because while i am super critical of this game, i don't always wanna be. they do a lot right. i think simmers are right to have high expectations tho.
Where have you seen the torch? Maybe they use it so quickly I haven't noticed? I haven't seen an animation with a jeweler's torch yet in my gameplay, and a lot of the gem cutting is unrealistic considering some need to be cut with a steady stream of water or they'll shatter. I've also never used an actual tape measurer while making jewelry lol so a mandrel (one for cuffs and one for rings) would have been better imo. I've been a professional jeweler for nearly a decade now myself, so I am really digging this pack and I do love it, but it's not all that spot on from what I have seen so far.
I love that it's implied that Stanley Humphrey not only crafted the gemology table, but started an entire gemology furniture business so that other sims could craft things with gems. And that it also implies the team's admiration for lilsimsie living her dreams and also letting Stanley turn all his get-rich-quick schemes into livable businesses. Things like this make me love the Sims team (and I hope their higher-ups at EA realize what gems they have working for them and compensate them well and give them plenty of time so they can keep making good content like this pack).
Fun fact: In Ireland, there is a tradition for woman to propose on leap day. Funny enough, this video was uploaded on leap day, and her sim, Ruby, is a woman!
I cannot understate the amount of joy I get from watching 2,5+ hours of content from several different creators on a stuff pack I know for sure I’m never going to buy

Sure you can cheat the skill level to (likely) unlock everything available for crafting, but you still have to actively produce the items to unlock them in CAS, and that's the fun part for me. Looks like a fun pack overall, though, and I'll definitely pick it up when I get paid. Still interested in seeing how well a weenie themed Get Rich Quick scheme would go with Stanley, though, if that's something you'd do :)
Yeah I agree. If one character has unlocked it in your household, will it be available in your household forever? Bc on legacy that also makes it pretty easy (and would be nice)
I totally agree but with one caveat: I would LOVE some cross pack compatibility. I’m thinking jewelry sold at the flea markets and at community centers. I want to be able to buy the jewelry from other sims out in the world

As soon as Better Build Buy has an update to remove the shopping cart button, I'm 100% getting this pack. This is the gameplay I've been craving but didn't know I needed. I *love* collecting materials in-game, but never have anything to really do with them.
I just recently started a sort of super sim playthrough raising a kid from birth and trying to do everything in the game. This looks like it'll be really useful for getting the collections tab filled out.
I really like this pack. Not just for the amazing bonuses but for the amount of cluter you can make. It'll work so well with realm of magic. I'm really excited to try it.

I buy everything (and pre order when that's available). I buy even when I'm not into the pack, but I've been stoked since this one was announced. I'm not a crystal person IRL (as in I don't believe that they have special properties) but I do collect them just because I think they're pretty. And while the style of the pack isn't really my aesthetic, I still really love everything in it. I love hobbies! I've also been playing with a sim named Jade completely coincidentally for a few months now (I don't really get a lot of time to play, unfortunately) so she's def got a new hobby!
here's a tip, you should join the scientist career if you're a jewelry maker because there are sooooo many crystals and metals scattered around the area around the science lab building. also you can ask your coworkers for crystals and metals

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but the Sims team did not label some of (most of) the new clothing items under male OR female, so they won't automatically show up in CAS. Make sure to deselect those and see the extra bits. Must have been an oversight on their part 🙄
im always happy to be critical of the sims 4 it has lots of issues but this pack is the most excited ive been for one in a LONG time.. i can just imagine all the uses for this from dedicated gemology playthroughs to just a passing skill for a sim to make an engagement ring or a gift or even just one for a perk… im SO excited for this pack

Okay I totally missed the release of this pack as I’ve took a break from sims but I’m totally buying this, the fact that you can gift your jewellery and they’ll actually wear it is so cute
Just a silly little fun fact for everyone. In my opinion the BEST PLACE to find gems is the park in oasis springs, it takes a moment but SO MANY will spawn and will continue spawning as your sim is on the lot (they’ll even respawn in spots you’ve already mined). I do cheat a little and teleport my sim to the gems directly since it takes too long to run around, but yeah!
At the moment I'm doing the ultimate decades challenge, except my sims are a Royal Family so I've been using this kit to make the crown jewels. I really wish we had tiaras 😭
I bought the pack ASAP bc my one goal in the Sims is to get as close as possible to a fairytale magical wonderland and I can't pass on enchanted jewelry! It's perfect!

I love that this video is about an hour long! I have an hour commute everyday to work so this was special getting this full review on the way :) I think I didn't like it first when it came out, but as I see the gameplay and how useful that all is I am more likely to buy this
I bought the pack this morning, I have yet to play with it, mostly because I was downloading mods. I had to recently go through ALL my mods because one thing was messing up my new Sim, she didn't have a face. lol. So for hours I had to remove and slowly put back mods until I found the problem. So I haven't had time for game play but will definitely play with this tomorrow. It looks so fun.
I am definitely buying this. The collecting part of sims has always been my favorite. I also want to play as the American Girl of the Year for 2024 and she has a lot of accessories that remind me of this pack
I love this pack. I always had a hard time figuring what aspiration to put fir my sim, I usually go for the collector one, but this gives me the better option.
Honestly I only wanted to buy this pack because of the build items, but the gameplay looks really cool! And if we can unlock all the jewelry in cas then that's a huge bonus too, they look so varied and pretty!

I love making things and then selling the things because then you can live anywhere and don't have to go to work. I will have sims look for shells and sell what they find a build a hut in Sulani. Sometimes make cupcakes, paintings or even potions. Now I have something my Spellcasters can make, wear and sell. Plus it's got magic and they're Pretty! This pack WAS MADE FOR ME!!
I told myself I'm done with buying buying ad ons for the sims but i just got to have this. This would've saved me SO much more time trying to complete trophie goals on my Ps5. I'm so happy i started the sims this past year rather than 2014. Jumping from sims bustin out and sims game on nintendo to sims 4 in 2023 is an amazing experience

i liked this stuff pack so much more than home chef hustle. the Stanley shout-out, the fact that old base game items and secret lots are getting some new love and attention just warms my heart. i wish they would take some of the things locked behind packs and make parts of them base game so they could do this with more things. like, the ability to clean up trash in Eco Lifestyle and Island Living, make it base game so we can have more packs to tie everything together.

That name legit made me so happy oh my gosh. I love when the Sims team puts those kinds of acknowledgements in the game. It would be lovely if you were, you know, paid for your contribution to paid content that they're selling for their internationally successful franchise, but. I still like to see that your influence on the community is acknowledged!

Just a silly little fun fact for everyone. In my opinion the BEST PLACE to find gems is the park in oasis springs, it takes a moment but SO MANY will spawn and will continue spawning as your sim is on the lot (they’ll even respawn in spots you’ve already mined). I do cheat a little and teleport my sim to the gems directly since it takes too long to run around, but yeah!
I happened to have some golden chickens, which is probably the quickest way to get a perfect crystal tree without cheating.
At the moment I'm doing the ultimate decades challenge, except my sims are a Royal Family so I've been using this kit to make the crown jewels. I really wish we had tiaras 😭

I love that this video is about an hour long! I have an hour commute everyday to work so this was special getting this full review on the way :) I think I didn't like it first when it came out, but as I see the gameplay and how useful that all is I am more likely to buy this

I bought the pack this morning, I have yet to play with it, mostly because I was downloading mods. I had to recently go through ALL my mods because one thing was messing up my new Sim, she didn't have a face. lol. So for hours I had to remove and slowly put back mods until I found the problem. So I haven't had time for game play but will definitely play with this tomorrow. It looks so fun.

I love making things and then selling the things because then you can live anywhere and don't have to go to work. I will have sims look for shells and sell what they find a build a hut in Sulani. Sometimes make cupcakes, paintings or even potions. Now I have something my Spellcasters can make, wear and sell. Plus it's got magic and they're Pretty! This pack WAS MADE FOR ME!!
I told myself I'm done with buying buying ad ons for the sims but i just got to have this. This would've saved me SO much more time trying to complete trophie goals on my Ps5. I'm so happy i started the sims this past year rather than 2014. Jumping from sims bustin out and sims game on nintendo to sims 4 in 2023 is an amazing experience

A gnome gem with the crystal that increases your needs bars is the ultimate sims throwback!

I’ll definitely buy it, just not right now. I think it sounds like an amazing pack and something I would really like but I feel like I haven’t used the other expansion packs enough to justify buying another one

I found that there's an additional top that doesn't have the feminine or masculine tag, but should probably be tagged feminine, and it's a cute little wrap top thing.

i liked this stuff pack so much more than home chef hustle. the Stanley shout-out, the fact that old base game items and secret lots are getting some new love and attention just warms my heart. i wish they would take some of the things locked behind packs and make parts of them base game so they could do this with more things. like, the ability to clean up trash in Eco Lifestyle and Island Living, make it base game so we can have more packs to tie everything together.
