as someone who has been a professional metalsmith/jeweler for the last 7 years.... this is my dream pack! The sims team missed no details with this one, the animation, cost of things, even the smallest details on the bench, THE TORCH. They had to have someone from the industry work with them on this. I giggled so many times at Kayla's comments, she doesn't even know how relatable they are, especially if you are just starting out in the industry.
I'm so glad you mentioned this! I've noticed the level of detail in a few other packs, and it just warms my heart knowing that took the time to at least consult with professionals to get the details right. It makes a world of difference 🥺🥺
this makes me happy because while i am super critical of this game, i don't always wanna be. they do a lot right. i think simmers are right to have high expectations tho.
Where have you seen the torch? Maybe they use it so quickly I haven't noticed? I haven't seen an animation with a jeweler's torch yet in my gameplay, and a lot of the gem cutting is unrealistic considering some need to be cut with a steady stream of water or they'll shatter. I've also never used an actual tape measurer while making jewelry lol so a mandrel (one for cuffs and one for rings) would have been better imo. I've been a professional jeweler for nearly a decade now myself, so I am really digging this pack and I do love it, but it's not all that spot on from what I have seen so far.
Fun fact: In Ireland, there is a tradition for woman to propose on leap day. Funny enough, this video was uploaded on leap day, and her sim, Ruby, is a woman!

I love that it's implied that Stanley Humphrey not only crafted the gemology table, but started an entire gemology furniture business so that other sims could craft things with gems. And that it also implies the team's admiration for lilsimsie living her dreams and also letting Stanley turn all his get-rich-quick schemes into livable businesses. Things like this make me love the Sims team (and I hope their higher-ups at EA realize what gems they have working for them and compensate them well and give them plenty of time so they can keep making good content like this pack).

Scientist career is good to pair with this. Lots of digsites and you can ask co-workers for metals and crystals.
This pack gives Nanci Landgrab breaking into jewelry stores and building her massive jewelry collection and fortune vibes.
I mean, she is a snob and minor crime lord so it makes sense.
I'm honestly happy that the jewelry is locked behind actually playing through the pack; it makes it so people have to delve in (to some extent) and explore the features they're paying for. Sure you can cheat the skill level to (likely) unlock everything available for crafting, but you still have to actively produce the items to unlock them in CAS, and that's the fun part for me.
Looks like a fun pack overall, though, and I'll definitely pick it up when I get paid.
Still interested in seeing how well a weenie themed Get Rich Quick scheme would go with Stanley, though, if that's something you'd do :)
Yeah I agree. If one character has unlocked it in your household, will it be available in your household forever? Bc on legacy that also makes it pretty easy (and would be nice)
I totally agree but with one caveat: I would LOVE some cross pack compatibility. I’m thinking jewelry sold at the flea markets and at community centers. I want to be able to buy the jewelry from other sims out in the world
I wish they had a few swatches of the jewelry without the buffs in cas. Like give us a bit at least!

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but the Sims team did not label some of (most of) the new clothing items under male OR female, so they won't automatically show up in CAS. Make sure to deselect those and see the extra bits. Must have been an oversight on their part 🙄

As soon as Better Build Buy has an update to remove the shopping cart button, I'm 100% getting this pack. This is the gameplay I've been craving but didn't know I needed. I *love* collecting materials in-game, but never have anything to really do with them.

here's a tip, you should join the scientist career if you're a jewelry maker because there are sooooo many crystals and metals scattered around the area around the science lab building. also you can ask your coworkers for crystals and metals
I kinda wish that the crystals gave off negative things/emotions/moodlets too, like certain crystals/jewelry sets makes a sim unlucky or accident prone or something, I'd literally give my most hated townie a crystal like that😂
kinda wish they added a face mask for the crafting animation, i feel bad for the sims inhaling all that crystal dust lol

I just recently started a sort of super sim playthrough raising a kid from birth and trying to do everything in the game. This looks like it'll be really useful for getting the collections tab filled out.
I really like this pack. Not just for the amazing bonuses but for the amount of cluter you can make. It'll work so well with realm of magic. I'm really excited to try it.
I adore the casual representation in all of Kayla's videos, it's so refreshing to see it.

This pack seems fun but I don’t know how much I would use it other than cas or build and buy.
I buy everything (and pre order when that's available). I buy even when I'm not into the pack, but I've been stoked since this one was announced. I'm not a crystal person IRL (as in I don't believe that they have special properties) but I do collect them just because I think they're pretty. And while the style of the pack isn't really my aesthetic, I still really love everything in it. I love hobbies! I've also been playing with a sim named Jade completely coincidentally for a few months now (I don't really get a lot of time to play, unfortunately) so she's def got a new hobby!
You need to put the skull in an infants room and there will be so much less stress 😅😂

I have wanted a pack like this for so long! I am a book lover, jewelry maker, and crystal collector so again, right of my alley!
Just a silly little fun fact for everyone. In my opinion the BEST PLACE to find gems is the park in oasis springs, it takes a moment but SO MANY will spawn and will continue spawning as your sim is on the lot (they’ll even respawn in spots you’ve already mined). I do cheat a little and teleport my sim to the gems directly since it takes too long to run around, but yeah!
This looks really fun, and I really want it, but I'm not buying it unless/until they get rid of the awful buy button. I've been playing Sims 3 recently, and their store pop-ups are so tacky... I was thinking just the other day how glad I was they'd grown out of it...
yeah i hated that store. i would always load the game offline so i wouldn’t even get store suggestions in sims 3. it lagged my game

Just bought Crystal Creations only 30mins ago, so excited! Made my new Sim, working on a house right now. Played Sims 4 for some years on and off, but I'm still pretty clueless in so many ways lol Always loved your videos, which are so valuable and fun for me, and this new content has renewed my inspiration. I would love it if you built base game houses for the not so berry challenge. The reasons are:
1. You are the creator of the challenge.
2. You are really good at building
3. I think many people play the not so berry challenge, and it's so hard to find good houses in the gallery if you don't have packs or have a few.

I bought the pack this morning, I have yet to play with it, mostly because I was downloading mods. I had to recently go through ALL my mods because one thing was messing up my new Sim, she didn't have a face. lol. So for hours I had to remove and slowly put back mods until I found the problem. So I haven't had time for game play but will definitely play with this tomorrow. It looks so fun.
That name legit made me so happy oh my gosh. I love when the Sims team puts those kinds of acknowledgements in the game. It would be lovely if you were, you know, paid for your contribution to paid content that they're selling for their internationally successful franchise, but. I still like to see that your influence on the community is acknowledged!

Has anyone else had issues with the gem cutting stand? I can open it and do the random 300 simoleon jewelry, but I can’t customize my own or cut a crystal… I’ve tried everything and I don’t think it’s me at this point… 😖

Wow I’ve been playing sims 4 for a few years, I’m new to your channel from trying to find Crystal Creations videos (realized how big you are in the community so of course I’m following now) and had no idea about that tree secret glade 🤣 cracked me up because you did it all so casually like… its obviously a well known thing and I’m so in the dark LOL. Love it.

I found that there's an additional top that doesn't have the feminine or masculine tag, but should probably be tagged feminine, and it's a cute little wrap top thing.
This video was really fun but as mostly a builder I don't think I'll be buying this. The gameplay aspects with the effects and stuff are cool but if you're not that into gameplay for me the other parts of this pack alone are kind of lacking. Especially with the not being able to access the jewelery in cas:/

I honestly actually prefer not having the crafting items unlocked in CAS. I like having items you have to work for and aren't tempted to just slap on in CAS without effort
