"The Door Is Still Open To My Heart" is an album I definitely think you should pick up, that one has a lot of great tunes. Hard for me to pick a favorite album, but that one is high up there. What's your favorite?
Mine would actually have to be Gentle On My Mind! I like his rendition of that song and it also has a beautiful rendition of Honey! Haha I keep coming back to this video to see what else I should add to my collection!
I’m glad to have you keep coming back to it for reference! Happy to help. I’m making a list on my Discogs of the releases you mentioned that I haven’t got yet. Gentle On My Mind is great!
@@ManzaMediaTV Yes gentle on my mind is great. Do you have many frank albums?
I’ll be putting out another Crooner Collection episode featuring my Sinatra stuff, and my Bing collection - Both of which are larger than my Dino album count!!
@@ManzaMediaTV cool! Have any Andy Williams?
Love the ways you loved him!
Dean Martin is a very special person. His ways of controlling his life is v inspiring. His music is sunshine.
My favourites, A Cup of Happiness, and A Peace of Mind. The Man who Plays the Mandolino. I can go on and on..😊
Loved the man and his music.
So cool! I love all those also. No one will ever come close to the person he was in music
Very beautiful
Thank you very much!
I'm a great Dean Martin fan too, I possess like you, all the 51 lps till the 401 album to nashville session
I love Dean Martin is one of my favorite. Sway and Return to Me are my favorites of his. Enjoyed the video.
Mine too! Especially Return To Me, that is such a relaxing track after a night out.
Hmmmm, strange you don't like his more poppy 60s reprise stuff. i love that stuff!
Hey, thanks for the comment! Though I can appreciate it, I wouldn’t say I love that era best. I think there is another realm of depth found in the earlier recordings.
@@ManzaMediaTV Yes I feel you. The Italian capitol stuff is definitely extremely romantic and beautiful! I just found his reprise stuff more happy, it was definitely a bit plain and corny to some ears, but I liked it.
Yes! You said it. Good to have you, TunesOnTheTube!
@@ManzaMediaTV Thank you very much! I do wish I had some more capitol stuff but I can never find it cheaply, sadly.
I’m sure you’ll find them! Was hard to find some of the collection I have now. None of the albums I purchased online actually, I was able to find them in record stores and antique stores.
Have you gotten Once In A While and The Nashville Sessions yet?
I have not! I’m missing some for sure, thanks for the comment. Do you recommend both additions? I assume so! 😄
@@ManzaMediaTV haha I haven’t had chance to listen to Once In A While because it wasn’t released here in Australia, but The Nashville Sessions? It’s a great record! Don’t Give Up On Me is on that album and that’s a beautiful song. Also you don’t have Youre The Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me, which has Dean return to his Italian roots with Amore Mio!
@@ManzaMediaTV by the way, you refer to some of deans stuff as ‘campy’. What do you mean by that?
Later on in his career the music got “campy”just in the sense that it’s fluffy kitschy 1960’s horn based game show sounding music, instead of the lush production of some of the older stuff. Dean’s delivery and voice didn’t change, the choice of arrangements did to the backing tracks.
I’ll have to pick those up! No I do not have that one either. There are some I am missing absolutely. Always the thrill of the hunt to find them all!
While I'm more of a Frank fan, Dino is still great and I pick up anything in a budget bin I find - harder down South here, but still have quite a few albums.
Frank is remarkable yes. Surprised that ol’ Herb Alpert sound Dean had in later years didn’t attract the southerners of the 60’s.
Which are your favorites? Any of mine?
@@ManzaMediaTV Italian Love Songs. During a purge I apparently whittled down to greatest hits 1 &2…
But those greatest hits aren’t really the greatest hits! In my opinion lol. But hey, for the casual Dino fan, what else do you need!
