I literally transcribed and learned all of these grooves last week. So cool to see you posting this! By the way, I have like 20 transcriptions of full videos by Zack. Let me know if you want me to send them to you!
I LOVE that you included the call with ZackGrooves here. It's amazing how often the core of a complex groove is actually pretty simple, and it really helped hearing where Zack was coming from in describing it's roots. ... Also you're playing was cleaner than you gave yourself credit for on a couple of those ❤️
I really appreciate you showing all the mistakes along the way. Not enough people see the process before the product, and have no clue how much frustration and grinding comes before the part they see.
Love this “what to practise” series Brandon! I’m constantly in practise mode myself, and there is something comforting in watching another drummer struggle, swear and sweat to learn something. Your videos also always look and sound good to me. I agree that some of Zacks grooves are nasty.
My favorite thing about your videos is that you show how much you struggle to learn new concepts. Its nice to see that good drummers became good by being a bad drummer first.
We all feel that way!!! I legit feel like I suck right now… and like, I know I don’t suck, but the better you get the worse drummer you think you are. It’s a total mind game but you HAVE to understand that’s how it works. Keep pushing!!! ❤️
you should absolutely try and break down *Red Miso* from Animals as Leaders' new album Parrhesia. Those stacks hits at 15:37 that Zack hit reminded me of the first part of Red Miso. It's also an insanely innovative groove
This video is what it is all about. GOD i love the fact that we humans can all cooperate and flourish, when it comes to music. It is a universal form of enjoyment for both the one who is playing and the one listening. Great Video ❤
Thank you Brandon for sharing the struggle I have every time I see Zack's playing 🤣 Anyway seeing you and Zack in the same video was sick! I'd love to see you guys collaborate again in the future
The 4 things you start vid with are deffo me when listening to Bonham & Peart, especially the throwing phone onto desk going “nahhh not in a million yrs” 😂
Dude! Thank you so much for this, that's exactly how I feel watching Zack kill it. I'll be butchering this stuff for a while lol... but at least I don't have to transcribe it. You rock, my friend.
I just love you! Your whole approach to learning teached me how to become a more patient person. And on top of all that I just regained my curiosity that I missed so much. Thank you so much!
This reminds of when we ha D to play whiplash in a school concert I was not chosen to play it because I was a rock drummer but I work hard and played it everyday and pulled it out on rehearsal day everyone was like where that come from never give up
Thanks so much dude, especially for going to the effort of the sticking pattern and notation! It’s difficult to find any kind of lesson for grooves like this
I love that you keep your struggle to play these beats in the video. That's real sh*t. We don't see enough of this reality in videos... and you know we all experience it.
Him getting the insane speeds. The PUSH PULL technique was highly needed to learn and he usually switches it to regular double wrist stroke motion (or rather moeller) while the other does the P-P technique. It's a complete mix of the 2. I'll give this a go as well he just whole another animal on the kit.
Yo Brandon I love the both of you, thanks for this video and MAJOR props for your growth as a person, musician and content creator. Been watching you for a while and you've definitely come a long way!! Dope stuff!!
Utube is insane for us to learn whatever t f we want. Anything!! No internet, no utube. T internet's insane...for everything!! Grt vid BS. Zac's a beast. Grt cameo. 🍻✌️
zack's snare tuning sounds so different from yours, but it also sounds nearly the same i think he tunes his top head higher, it's so funky sounding, both of yours

Seeing both of my favorite youtube drummers learning from each other puts a huge smile on my face.

Love that you got Zack in the video. Always great to see the UA-cam drumming community coming together.
My favourite 2 drum channels!

My heart dropped when zack said "totally typical". Thanks zack, thanks.
I was literally like an hour ago scrolling through your channel looking at older videos and thinking: "Man I wish this dude had more videos..."
I heard u

respect for posting actual practice footage including you struggling - very refreshing content, almost no one does it
That two ghosts and then snare with left hand in a row . Is fire , very Yussef Dayes. Great breakdown
this is how every drummer should behave towards each other! EPIC
Love this “what to practise” series Brandon! I’m constantly in practise mode myself, and there is something comforting in watching another drummer struggle, swear and sweat to learn something. Your videos also always look and sound good to me.
I agree that some of Zacks grooves are nasty.
the crack from ur snare is soo amazing man
That first groove is an absolute MONSTER. Bravo for even getting it to 160 👏
My favorite thing about your videos is that you show how much you struggle to learn new concepts. Its nice to see that good drummers became good by being a bad drummer first.
I don’t care that I don’t drum. I just love looking at your color pallets!
Incredible independence radiates from both of these talented teachers! Peace from Detroit MI.
Really gave homage to zack’s authenticity through this video!
Yes! You could really feel the ZackGrooves vibes in this one!
So good to watch other drummers practice, I get really discouraged thinking I’m never getting any better
We all feel that way!!! I legit feel like I suck right now… and like, I know I don’t suck, but the better you get the worse drummer you think you are. It’s a total mind game but you HAVE to understand that’s how it works. Keep pushing!!! ❤️
@@BrandonScottDrums good to hear, appreciate you broski
5:54 finally somebody said it!
Zack is goated
The editing and overall production value on your channel is F'ing insane! Keep 'em coming.
Why is it so tempting to play a pattern faster immediately after messing up? lmaoooo I feel like that's just a universal fallacy we have.
you should absolutely try and break down *Red Miso* from Animals as Leaders' new album Parrhesia. Those stacks hits at 15:37 that Zack hit reminded me of the first part of Red Miso. It's also an insanely innovative groove
Couldn’t stop smiling through pretty much the whole phone call. That was really cool to watch.
The first part of that 3rd groove has a 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover kind of feel
This video is what it is all about. GOD i love the fact that we humans can all cooperate and flourish, when it comes to music. It is a universal form of enjoyment for both the one who is playing and the one listening. Great Video ❤
16:35 on at half speed is absolutely hilarious. It’s like 2 buddies stoned out of their mind that can’t stop laughing 😂
That is pretty funny! Ha ha!!
All hail Brandon and Zack! Two of the best UA-cam drummers but you take the Editing part for sure with all the cool affects
Thank you Brandon for sharing the struggle I have every time I see Zack's playing 🤣
Anyway seeing you and Zack in the same video was sick! I'd love to see you guys collaborate again in the future
The 4 things you start vid with are deffo me when listening to Bonham & Peart, especially the throwing phone onto desk going “nahhh not in a million yrs” 😂
Aside from the amazing drumming, your videos are so well done. Such high quality editing and visualising!
Always a delight to watch :)
Dude! Thank you so much for this, that's exactly how I feel watching Zack kill it. I'll be butchering this stuff for a while lol... but at least I don't have to transcribe it. You rock, my friend.
Killin’ it with the radon remediation.
What a freakin legend. Both of you. Legends
When you were playing the first groove and hitting the kick instead of the hi-hat chick I felt that on an emotional level.
That was SO much fun to WATCH too. You guys are great. Gonna try and tackle this on keyboard drums, which is definitely impossible haha
I just love you! Your whole approach to learning teached me how to become a more patient person. And on top of all that I just regained my curiosity that I missed so much. Thank you so much!
immediately started to learn the last groove, sooo much fun like you had haha :D amazing video!!!!

I love this community so much. F*****k!!!!
I love that you keep your struggle to play these beats in the video. That's real sh*t. We don't see enough of this reality in videos... and you know we all experience it.
This series is dope and so is ZackGrooves
Scott, you are sth else. I'm lucky to be a musician/drummer with you around.
Love your videos man!

Just started first one, thanks 😎
This reminded me of the J.P Bouvet groove video you made like 10 years ago! 😅
FINALLY!!! LESSSSGOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Hey Brandon, it would be cool if you would make a video about Devon Taylors drumming.
That intro perfectly describes my drum video viewing experience
True bro moment when Zack explained the groove the Brandon
Utube is insane for us to learn whatever t f we want. Anything!! No internet, no utube. T internet's insane...for everything!! Grt vid BS. Zac's a beast. Grt cameo. 🍻✌️
Killer grooves from Zack and a Kagome's Tshirt?? OMG 🤘🤘🤩
Haven’t even watched it yet and I know its gonna be great
The bromance is complete!
Bruh the intro was the same way zackgrooves does his intro to his videos that made my day lol
Outro song: Kitrano - Grateful
I would struggle with this groove but I am deffs trying it
This was super fun. 🖤🤘🏻
godayum this is some high quality video and audio my dude
Sometimes we dont even know exactly what we are playing until we slow it down and explain.
So dope.

The combo we didn’t know we needed 😍
zack's snare tuning sounds so different from yours, but it also sounds nearly the same
i think he tunes his top head higher, it's so funky sounding, both of yours
The collaboration that I both always doubted and longed for, I got it nonetheless :)
Zack has the most sensual minute ghostnotes out there
