I've sent a message on (The Green Hornet) website Stripey, great video dude. 🙂👍. I hope they do release a Blu-Ray or 4K Ultra version with all the special features as I would personally buy a copy of it. 😃
I'm going to ask my dad if he'd like to watch all the episodes of the green hornet with me on UA-cam as we watched a few going bk some years ago but I've never seen all of them. My family and I have been watching the Batman 1960's series on DVD as we got the complete box set.
Good news. I received an email back from the green hornet website from a guy called "David Grace". And he said this = "Thank you for your interest". " Unfortunately, there has never been an authorized release of the TV show on home video and there is no current plan for a release on DVD. But perhaps one day - Let's Roll". He left at the end his American address, telephone number, email.
I've never seen the DVD's you got Dal before they look awesome. 😎

Hi Stripey, thanks for the nice mention. That's a really good and positive appeal and who knows, perhaps the powers that be might sit up and take notice. Rather than our freinds in Hong Kong who prefer to keep their Bruce Lee materials ( The brilliant life of Bruce Lee documentary) to themselves. You are right, Green Hornet wasn’t shown here until the early 80’s,I remember it being on Sky TV way back in their early days
Apparently it wasn’t shown back in the day because the TV companies thought it was too violent
I do remember having a Matchbox car sized model of The Black Beauty in the 60’s when I was 7 or 8

Hi Stripey, happy for your reunion with your family from Canada...I know exactly what it's like to see your loved ones again after so many years. Good show as always. I appreciate the Kato Show, the style, the era, the car... but not so much the absence of Bruce Lee, it seems that the creators did not understand what to do with it, hesitating between a comic erstaz of Batman or a serious noir detective style, which, in some rare scenes, I really enjoy. They had gold in their hands with Bruce but they wasted it. Hmmmm by the way Stripey, I see the Green but..where is the Hornet?! 😂😂😂
I'll email them. Was not aware of the website. What I had heard was that the Trendle Estate hates the series for some reason, and doesn't want it released. Seems crazy to me. There is definitely an audience for it, and not just Bruce Lee fans. The complete series is on UA-cam, but it was recorded off TV. There's been a DVD and VHS release (also recorded off TV) available for years on Ebay. Just so-so quality. One of the problems with the show is that Kato wears black, and is frequently filmed against dark backgrounds at night, so I hope they do a good color and contrast adjustment if it's released officially.
Great content there stripey. I wasn't far wrong with this. I didn't think it would be the lee estate like some people speculated. I knew 20th century fox had something to do with this. Yes mate im definitely gonna email as well 👍. Thanks again bud.

I agree that The Green Hornet TV Series has been neglected, especially for a first time ever Home Video Release on DVD, Blu-ray,and 4K disc.So much crap is put on Home Video and in Streaming,and yet this great,fast moving,Crime Drama is being somehow rejected.Very strange, unfortunate,sad,tragic,too bad.
I got an answer back from The Green Hornet,Inc.,and the reply was worth the wait this time,at least it gives hope to the real possibility of a LEGAL Green Hornet TV Series Set release on Home Video DVD,Blu-ray,and 4K discs at some point!😊

I got to meet Wende Wagner in person back in 1992,Van Williams in person in 1993 and again in 1994,met The Black Beauty designer Dean Jeffries in person in 2006,and have seen both original Black Beauty cars used on TGH TV Series in person.

I like your idea for the packaging of a possible The Green Hornet Blu-ray discs set.I would include many bonus features into it,and in a very limited numbered Special Collectors Set.
Thanks for your research and the update. I hope that in your email you include your suggestions for the "extras" as they are what I feel would make the Blu-ray version a "collector 's item". Additionally, I would suggest that you and the other Bruce Lee UA-camr you mentioned provide a "path to production" to the Green Hornet Rights holders, along with financing tactics to pay for the production and distribution. The market for the Bruce Lee content is undeniable even after all of these years, but I do foresee a "sunset" of enthusiasm approaching if this is not done soon just due to the natural attrition of Bruce's fan base. With that being said, I feel that a well produced, high quality product would introduce Bruce Lee to a whole new generation of fans.
In my experience, it is the perceived "effort" for a project like this which is the greatest deterrent to the completion of such an endeavor. However, if the right holders are presented with a "complete package" that accounts for all pre-production content and sources, financial plans and securities, and distribution plan and sales projections with a comparative history of success with the Batman Blu-ray project, presuming it was a positive outcome, may get this project off the ground.
Those are my thoughts. As a fellow Bruce Lee fan, I must say that you produce a very informative and entertaining show. Please keep up the good work!😊

There is also black and white footage available from a 1966 press meeting featuring Van Williams,Bruce Lee,Adam West,and Producer William Dozier,who speak during the get together,and includes interviews with Van Williams and Adam West too!

I'm really surprised after the reception of the Arrow releases that the likes of the Green Hornet & Longstreet haven't gotten a proper release.
The crossover episodes are available on the Batman Blu Ray set

I have the LEGAL sets of the 1966-1968 "Batman" TV series Blu-ray set,the Arrow Blu-ray/4K Bruce Lee Box Set from the UK,and the "Longstreet" DVD set,and ALL are OFFICIAL LEGAL releases.
All of us own only bootleg sets of The Green Hornet TV Series on disc.After 58 long years,we need the REAL DEAL now!

I think the holder of TGH TV Property is waiting like all of us are for the upcoming new "The Green Hornet And Kato" big screen movie from Universal Studios and Amasia Entertainment to get made and be released to theatres,and then most likely a release can happen(?!).......??

Yet it still watchable & also seeing bruce lee fighting all the time was a bonus. I'm so pleased that you have covered these films as I own Fury of the dragon, but I thought it was The green hornet movie AKA Fury of the dragon. As a lot of Chinese movies have various names for the same movie. (Which is so annoying).
As I had The green hornet on my to buy list, but after your review i have since crossed it off my list. So thankfully you have done me a favour and saved me some money. So thanks Stripey. 👍

"Longstreet" already exists as a LEGAL Official DVD set.I own it.

I also contacted the late Van Williams by letter while he was still with us,but he gave me no answer on why TGH TV Series is not yet released , although he did like my letter enough to send me a signed picture back.I also e-mailed the Bruce Lee estate,they never answered back about why TGH TV Series is not released either.

The Milton Berle Show from September 16,1966,was actually in FULL COLOR originally,but the color master has been lost,misplaced,or been destroyed (but let's hope not though!).

I just came across this video while watching my bootleg copy lol, disappointed with the overall quality. I was looking for any updates or new Blu-ray information, and here I am... I sent the email like you said all I can do is try.
I also have the September 16,1966 appearance of The Green Hornet,Kato,Batman,on The Hollywood Palace/Milton Berle Show complete with original commercials on DVD(bootleg),plus end scenes trailers for upcoming Green Hornet TV episodes narrated by William Dozier (bootleg),etc.,etc.,etc......
Brentwood Home Video had also announced back in the year 2000 a legitimate,official,legal version of the 2nd Green Hornet movie from 1976,"The Fury Of The Dragon",but never got to release it though.I had heard it was copyright issue problems with the owners.
Black Beauty #1 is at the Petersen Automotive Museum in California,Black Beauty #2 is in a private collection in North Carolina.

The Green Hornet could come out on Blu-ray. Remasters in HD has been airing on TV for decades and some of these (french dubbed) can be seen on UA-cam.

I have the 1974 movie,"The Green Hornet",on Brentwood Home Video(a LEGAL release),on DVD,with extras.It's well worth going after it.I also have it on the Hummingbird Video Label on LaserDisc from Japan(also an Official release).I also have the 1976 Green Hornet movie,"The Fury Of The Dragon",on the DVD release from PRISM,and have it also on the Hummingbird Label LaserDisc(also Official).I own 3 bootleg sets of TGH TV Series on DVD,and 3 bootlegs of the TV Series on VHS videotape.The sources for the TGH TV Series bootlegs are from cable TV,and from 16mm film prints for TV stations.I also have a METV Green Hornet Special from March 2012 hosted by Svengoolie called,"The Airen Of The Green Hornet"(8 episodes from TGH TV Series shown together),taken from a local broadcast TV channel.

If we all include a mention of your site they might at least answer back to us collectively through your site.. There's that great screen test of Bruce Lee for Green Hornet too! If a petition was put together it could work. Richard Donner's Superman 2 saw the light of day due to fan pressure. So the same could apply for the Green Hornet on physical media. Then again for some inexplicable reason the owners may not like wanting people's monies. Think George Lucas and his refusal to have the original Star Wars trilogy unaltered on any platform.
Very glad your having a good time with your daughter, my brother only lives an hour away and not seen him in a Yr, not good.

I was curious about the Green Hornet series for the longest time. When I finally got around to watching it, I was surprised by how dull and forgettable it was. It is badly hurt by the fact that the star of the show, Kato, keeps getting sidelined and forgotten about. The one episode where he was the central character doesn't even have him involved in the epilogue.
Bruce Lee's appearance in Marlowe achieves more in 5-10 minutes than the entire Green Hornet series does.

It does need a LEGAL remastering and restoration for a digital frame by frame cleanup of the existing 35mm masters,so that it will look and sound perfect like it's cousin/brother TV series Batman does!
We need a LEGAL Blu-ray set of The Green Hornet TV Series to happen so that we can place it right next to our LEGAL Blu-ray set of the Batman TV series!

Really? Color coordinated wardrobe now for videos? What's next a Pete's Dragon costume for the next ENTER THE DRAGON Video? Did you know that George Trendle also created THE LONE RANGER and SGT. PRESTON, starting with radio shows in the 1930's out of Detroit.? In fact, the Green Hornet is supposed to be the Lone Ranger's grand nephew!

I think in my opinion the problem may be a matter of interest. Obviously us Bruce fans would love it but I think the reason the Batman show got one is because it was a much more popular show. I don't think they'd make back enough money for it to be worth giving the Batman show Blu Ray treatment unfortunately. I'll never stop hoping though.
Some very obscure films/TV shows, often get the Blu-Ray/4K treatment. Boutique labels like Arrow, 88 Films & Eurika! do this all the time.

I am a massive Bruce green hornet fan..first time I saw it was in a cinema in the 70.s
first time on tv on sky channel the quality was/is so poor..until I saw a French version recently a channel called toonami they had a cleaned up version of he series and ...you could actually seen Bruce's moves.
I love to see the blu-ray box.
It's a shame so much Bruce Kato stuff is out there and not being seen as super special..
I know there are more clips too like the silent screen test (a super short clip of him talking and making hand moves )

ALL of us Bruce Lee fans(and there are many of us!),need to email The Green Hornet,Inc. to see if this can help in making a LEGAL release of The Green Hornet TV Series a reality! I contacted them some years ago,and got a letter from them saying,"We appreciate your frustration Armando"!
