An immature kid calls your girlfriend/wife/mother a few stupid names and says you and your brother share a brain cell and you start trying to punch them rather than just manning up and dealing with it.
How strange, normally its Grant who does the hit first ask questions later. Then Phil jumps in to stop him with the famous line 'Leave it'. Here it is Phil doing that while Grant tries to stop him lol
Yes that is true. Normally its Grant whos the hot headed one. Tries to fight when he has an issue. And Phil jumps in tries to stop him with his liner "Grant leave it."
No he's more a true to life hardman he uses his brain's as well as his brain he's more like Den Watt's then you would think both were sneaky who only used their fist's on easy oponent's but lied and minipulated in order to get what they wanted. Think the difference was Den had wit and charm Phil does not.
Differences between Den Watts and The Mitchell brothers If you think about it in 1990 Grant and Phil Mitchell where brought in to the show to fill the void left when Den Watts left the show in 1989. Say what you like Grant and Phil each may have made their mark in EastEnders but neither brother where half as good as Den Watts. Where Phil and Grant typically used their fists and thought about the repercussions later, Den was much more laid back and calculating in getting his revenge. Den Watts Vs Phil Mitchell If you look back to 2003 when Den returned he immediately started a rivalry with Phil over his treatment of Sharon and Dennis. In this rivalry Phil made all sorts of threats and all it did was make Den laugh, we all new when Den said to Phil let bygones be bygones that it was just a rouse. Den used his head like always and instead of knocking seven shades of crap out of Phil like we all know he could do, he choose to use his brain and get his revenge in a different way and boy was his revenge for what Phil did to Sharon sweet by setting Phil up for armed robbery and if memory serves me correct. Den never used his fists once when he extracted his revenge on Phil. Who is better Den Watts or The Mitchells Dont get me wrong The Mitchells are a dominant family but Den Watts will always be king of the Square. He proved that in 2003 when he dealt with Phil and Sam as if they where nothing and I have no doubt had Grant and Peggy been in the show at the time he would have made mince meat out of them too. Den Watts will always be the top hard man in EastEnders and I really don't think there will be anyone like Den in the future.
Ian did actually win a few fights - he won against a boxer when he briefly took up boxing, he pinned Billy Mitchell against the wall, punched Andy Hunter after dodging his punch and roughed up Steven Beale over his daughter Lucy. People often underestimate his character because he almost always gets beaten up, he may be physically weak compared to stronger characters like Phil but he has had good bust ups during his time in the show.
Ian had also punched Ali Osman, Christian Clarke, Den Watts and Masood Ahmed and also pinned Jamie Mitchell against the wall and roughed Craig Dixon against a car, although unlike the ones I mentioned, these were not fights, just small bust ups (there might be some bust ups/fights of Ian which I havn't mentioned).
Den Watts the best, grant and Phil the dynamic duo, tricky dicky more front then Blackpool promenade and Ian just a sneaky runt!!!(sell he's own granny)Eastenders was ace bk in the beginning, and the nineties and early naughties....... Now it should be put to bed!!! ✌️
Richard Cole was always one of my favourite eastenders characters. Definitely miss the guy.
The actor was great in Corrie too.
In this clip Phil was doing his Grant impression and Grant was doing his Phil impression.
Eastenders was much better back then in 1993-94 when this was shown

@MeBenHalpin Good for the agreeance. Is it true that Dot Cotton is planning to release an album of Iron Maiden covers in time for Christmas?

@MeBenHalpin Yes, but this is one of his many lessons. How should he be corrected once and for all?
@MeBenHalpin Mind not. What will happen to Ian Beale in the end?
Phil and Grant reversed roles here
@MeBenHalpin Has Voltar been portained?
@MeBenHalpin I was questioning you on Voltar's portention, ken?

I remember Ian's boxing days. He beat the bloke in the ring and then was cornered by him outside. Apparently won the street fight as well.

Ian did all that? REALLY? And all he does now is cry like a little baby and soil his pants whenever he's threatened.
Ian also punched Nick. Cindy's boyfriend back in 1998
ian looks so young in this clip
@MeBenHalpin It is a lifetime of joy and vinegar. Should he be adequately portained?
Phils prime was 99-03 making him more of a nutter cus Ross kemp left
