I can't tell you how much I appreciate this song! I lost my best friend in May 2012, she was 14 at the time. It was completely unexpected and a total shock, obviously. I was depressed for over a month, as I was so invested in her friendship that I hadn't really developed good relationships with other friends besides ones who were 4-9 years older than me! I came across this video just a few months ago, ON the 6 year anniversary of my best friend'd death. We were supposed to perform together in a play, and she was able to participate in the first of four showings, but she died the morning of the second showing. She would have turned 20 this past October, and every time I hear this song, tears start flowing, and I can't help but think of her. But thank you, Simple Plan, for writing this song. During that time of grief, I was thinking, has anybody ever felt as sad and depressed as I feel right now? But when I came across this song ON the anniversary of my friend's death, I was reminded that things like this happen a lot to young people. So, thanks again for that awesome reminder. I can't help but think SP was talking about me when they say "even a parent" about fans who lost loved ones. i met them at warped tour 2011 and told them the story of how my dad passed away nov 18, 2010, which coincidently was the day SP announced they had finished recording GYHO. this song will always hold a special place in my heart. RIP dad. I actually heard the song the first time on fathers day 2011 which was also another coincidence.

Chuck was the first one of them to say "sorry for your loss" when i told them at WT about how my dad passed away the day they finished the album and how i heard it the first time on father's day. i kind of feel like when they say "our fans have come up to us at concerts saying how they've lost s grandparent, a friend , or even a parent" they were talking about me (or more likely, several people who said something similar to what i said)
This song really means a lot to me. My Mom died in a car accident a few years before the song was released. I remember when I got the album and listen to the song I just burst into tears. The line "I never got to say goodbye" really its hard because I didn't get to say goodbye. I didn't know the last time I saw her was going to be my last. At a meet and greet I was able to tell one of the band this I don't remember who but I'm glad I was able to share this in person.
